We have this soldering station in our store. Before introducing this model to sale, we tested it thoroughly. We were most impressed by the quality of the interior of the device!
It's good to see such nice build quality at this price. All the functions are conveniently accessible on the front which is also great. The second heatsing is most likely attached to the BLDC blower motor driver. Looks like a very decent hot air station 👍
Yup, I agree, second heatsink must be for the BLDC driver. And one thing that I don't think I've mentioned, the blower has very nice ramp up/down slopes.
Great review. Looks like it does provide good price/performance. I wonder what's the idle power consumption? Usually old school transformered designs do consume slightly higher while idling.
I hate tools that look like toys because I would feel silly using them. Slanted front with ridges and chrome buttons? LED indicators and LCDs from the 80s? It's like Tesla introducing their next gen model looking like K.I.T.T. -- it can have specs like crazy and be fantastically built but no one is going to buy that shit...
@@voltlog Nothing, not in the market for a complex hot air rework station, my Yihua 2008D is working just fine for me. Just saying, if I was in the market, this one would be a no-go for me for the toy looks alone.

You are right, that is to be expected. I measured 8.1W idle power.

@@danielegger6460 The RF4 RF-H2 1000W station is a bit of an upgrade over the 2008D for $100, if its ever needed. But it does have some flaws.
I agree, I hate the way this thing looks. I will stick with Atten or Quick.
