    It was good motivation for those who want to start a business, not all young guys want to work in a hawker centre.

    We work for others, not for ourselves. We reap the rewards: the joy, the satisfaction, the respect & the achievement.
    When the best is given, the best is returned.
    When the worst is sowed, we reap the worst.

      Happy for her?
      I don't think her parents and herself wld not wish for a better future, after spending $50,000 on SIM tuition fees. Sure, the gvt helps with UNESCO recognition. How does that help her, really?

    Shameless blurb here but there’s another good strong kopi stall right behind them- ah seng (hai nam) coffee, with really good Kaya toast also! They’ve been featured a few times in foodblogs for their traditional kopi- do support the mother son duo while you’re there :)

    Never been to Singapore. After watching a few TRS, why does "hawker" business have such negative view in a status way? It's a business. A legitimate business that serves the community while they also make money and be in a community with other small businesses in a safe environment. Without hawker or small businesses, who would feed the community? Who would take out the time to talk to you when you need to? just my two cents...

  • @leehyunsong7001
    @leehyunsong7001 Před 3 lety

    Hawker business is not meant to be a family business. It is a way for grass root people to move upward, able to send their children to study and fetch a white collar job.

    Both siblings always show sulky face at Amoy Street Hawker Centre..coffee is just normal anyway..price is cheaper though compared to real cafes as they are operating in hawker centres.

    Over priced stuff from Hawker stall.
    Can easily get really great traditional ones all over island for $1- $120 whc is the mkt rate. Avoid Koufu & Coppeetiam like the plague.
    33% Mark up has to gv that extra oomph to the coffee. But then, the hawker ctr isn't the place for enterprise, as glorified by the ministers over Diploma in Hawkerpreneurship. I m fine with Diploma in F&B tho. The former is an insult to the intelligence of Sporeans. Overall, excellent promo exercise.
