The first mv where KB gets drunk. Yoojung brings him back home and leaves an origami crane. So KB wakes up in his own house and doesn’t remember who brought him home. Until he sees the origami crane. And he remembers that he had seen them at the counter where yoojung works. So he goes to see him again. And that’s where we get the ‘starring in to each others eyes scene’. The pink hue apartment is yoojung’s. The difference in their characters is that yoojung’s sexuality is being suppressed by those around him. And he’s worried but still wants to love who he wants. On the other hand KB is carefree and is not thinking about anyones opinions and is living in the moment. So at the end where you see yoojung at the bed looking a bit regretful or unhappy. Possibly contemplating what comes next. While you have KB who feels liberated and is ready to face the world for his love.
I don't know if you noticed but in the background of yoojungs song you hear a couple of adlibs like "freedom will begin" (you heard that one" but there is also one that says "two can fall in love" and while the song itself is amazing and my personal favorite it's those details that make the whole series even more beautiful and special 😭🥰

Loved your intro at the beginning, you explained the concept of the "be series" so well so thumbs up for that ! Still can't get over the fact that these solo songs' series started less than a year ago... OnlyOneOf released so much stuff over the past few months... Just for the "be series" we literally got 1 album per month (each album including the solo song + an "art pOp remix" of an OOO previous song), for 6 months in a row ! All of these songs, plus the Instinct album at the beginning of the year, plus the japanese songs, plus some nice vocal covers from the members, and now the album "seOul cOllectiOn"... i kid you not, we have been so well-fed with new songs since the beginning of 2022 it's almost indecent x'D Also gotta say that i love your energy as well as your mindset and all those interesting reflections on broader subjects you brought up in this reaction. Really wish too that people in general could be more free and open about their emotions, and also comfortable in expressing their feelings, without fear of showing vulnerability, honesty and openness. Unfortunately, partly because of the pressure society puts onto us, wanting us to conform to imposed notions and roles and to fit into predefined boxes (gender norms for instance), people tend to limit themselves and repress those emotions and inner facettes that are part of their identity. Which all links back to the themes of liberation, of desire to escape from these social/religious/systemic shackles, and of self-expression... themes that we can find in "begin" (lyrics "Free from any prejudice"). The idea of celebrating romance and openness to emotions and other people again is also something that can be found in OOO's music, as you saw. Sure, they do represent a lot the concepts of physical/sensual/sexual relationships, and even grey/toxic relationships at times. But some of their MVs also picture a more romantic, healthier side of relationships through the normalization of people sharing simple yet joyful moments within these relationships (ex : "libidO" and "skinz" MVs showing the characters enjoying activities together as friends and lovers like playing sports, going on vacation or listening to music + "be free" MV showing the characters dancing together and just enjoying the moment). And as you also noticed in "begin" with the portrayal of Yoojung's character, they do it in a very subtle and natural way in order to represent the complex blossoming of feelings he goes through ! Kudos to the MV director, and to Yoojung and KB for acting so well and perfectly conveying those emotions ! Along with the topic of emotions, i deeply resonates with what you said about the need to spend time in your own space from time to time, just doing things we love like listening to music. Think it's something relevant for most people, but especially as an infp... as much as i love other people, imo this is so important for our well-being and mental health to be able to retreat and spend some time in our own little universe when we feel like it, just relaxing and taking a break from the social world to get our batteries fully charged again :') But yeah, to get back to the songs and MVs in themselves, i think your interpretation on KB's character was very spot-on ! Actually, after "begin" was released, some of us lyOns had theorized that Yoojung's character was the one trying to help KB's more reserved character accept his true feelings and identity. But as OOO often do, they subverted our expectations with "be free" by showing that KB's character was seemingly more outgoing, free-spirited and accepting of his own identity than Yoojung's - and that he might actually be the one helping Yoojung's character embrace his true self and feelings. Would finally like to comment on your questions regarding the payphone. Haven't seen your reactions for the 4 other solo songs yet so maybe you already thought about it some more, but you surely have realized that the payphone is a recurring element in all of these 6 MVs. As always with OOO, there are several theories surrounding this, but i'll try to explain and make some suggestions based on these and on my own interpretations. The payphone has been referred to as a "world view" by Yoojung in OOO's reaction video to "be mine" MV (after Nine asked about what it meant). This suggests that the payphone represents a view on a specific universe/scenery/world that includes the characters in each MV, which seems to make sense when looking at the MVs. The payphone could be interpreted as a viewpoint on each character and couple's relationships, as well as a view on the characters' mental/inner world (ex : KB's character crashing into Yoojung's character's world in "begin" and "be free", Rie's and JunJi's characters trying to communicate through the payphone, or Mill's and Nine's characters using the payphone as their meeting point despite the dangers of the night). imo, the payphone could be a view on the characters' inner self, as well as on their desire to communicate their feelings and express their emotions and true identity to their love interest but also to the outside world in general. Some characters like Rie's or Yoojung's are inside the payphone, indicating their isolation and reluctance/doubts/fear to fully step out and expressing their true selves and feelings. On the other hand, other characters like JunJi's, Mill's or Nine's are outside the payphone, already embracing how they feel and who they are and trying to express it despite the possibility of dangerous consequences (like in "beat" and "beyOnd" in which the characters get bullied and harassed). And while JunJi's character tries to encourage Rie's to come out of the payphone to help him accept who he truly is and reveal himself to the world, KB's character fully crashes into Yoojung's character universe, invading his thoughts and also leading him to show his feelings by stepping out of the payphone with him. This alternance between closed door/open door and inside/outside world is probably an image of the characters being closeted, open or still hesitant about the expression of their feelings and identity, and a portrayal of how they evolve and navigate through this on their own and with their partner, and how it affects their lives and relationships. As always, there's a lot of topics and themes to cover when dealing with OOO's songs x') but it's so much fun to try to dissect and analyse everything, especially when discussing with other listeners of OOO. i'm sure the next reaction of the series will be just as delightful as this one, so here's my cue to go and watch it >:)
