    The only perk to her dying at the end of the game is the comics never being able to be made

      Idk who that was in those comics but it sure wasn't Clem. I still can't get over how the writer thought it was a good idea for Clem to abandon AJ, after everything she went through to live up to Lee's legacy and make sure AJ was taken care of

    The thing is though, this is a good ending not because it’s a twist, but because of the rules of the universe. The walking dead is a universe where death is mercy from what people have to endure, so to see a peaceful and genuinely happy community and see that Clementine, AJ, and all the other kids get a happy ending it feels good to finally have an ending where the characters are actually happy.
    Also it falls into the category of not everything has to repeat itself, if that was the case, then we as society would’ve never grown.
    Also also, the Clementine comics aren’t canon and no one can convince me otherwise

    Nah, it would've been a bad move narratively. This was brought up when Lilly returned and berated Clem, how she'll die protecting AJ, just like Lee. The parallel is already there with Clem taking care of AJ, but the point is that Clementine is NOT Lee. Clem dying would've proved Lilly right and would've been a cheap asspull to emulate the same feeling/impact we got from season 1. Plus if Lee is still relevant to the story despite being dead for 3 seasons and nearly 10 years in lore, his "legacy" (Clem) living on is necessary.

  • @larryweatherspoon2531
    @larryweatherspoon2531 Před 4 měsíci +4

    I got to disagree the parallel is already there to be honest that’s the whole point of the game but Clem not dying means it’s not the same as before something the book’s totally forgot

    Nah it would be way too cliche imo. I think she needs to be determinant. If you trusted AJ with the hard choices, he will kill the Walker that almost bites Clementine and you won’t get that barn scene. But if you don’t trust him, Clementine will get hit and either die from AJ or left to turn into a Walker.

      @@nataki8776 yea no matter how many times they try convincing us it’s canon, it isn’t. That’s what u get when u have a person who barely even knows Clem to write a book.

  • @kingster14444

    Narratively it wouldn't have made any sense to make the only character to link all the season together to have died randomly, especially in such a cliche way where it was repeating the same steps as S1.
    I don't like how they handled it regardless, but my opinion on S4 would've been so much more sour if it ended with her dying.
    It would make me wonder what was all of this for. Random deaths are very interesting and cool typically but when overdone it becomes irritating.

    • @kingster14444
      @kingster14444 Před 4 měsíci

      @@raizaya I have issues similar to the video above where it seemed like a copout to have the ending they had. They wanted an emotional scene so they made their cake and ate it too when they just faked out that Clementine was going to die.
      It also really annoyed me how she got bitten, this slow as hell climb followed by an over exaggerated zombie bite, so many times previously you'd easily kick that zombies head in and climb out.
      I remember during the long scene in the barn being pissed about how stupid it was that she got bit like that.
      Maybe the twist ending is fine, I don't really know how you would end this series otherwise, but either way I don't think what we got worked well exactly.

    honestly i was so shocked when she lived, in the rules of the walking dead when you get bit, you got a short amount of time to get that limb off before the blood gets to your brain, however she was running for hours before aj cut her ankle off so the blood was just circulating faster. she even got the black circle around her eyes which usually means you're in your late stages of turning, at least when comparing to other characters who gotten bit in both the comics/telltales game and tv shows. maybe I'm missing something though that makes the virus do that to your skin before the virus actually reaches your brain, if so let me know.
    i still love the ending though and the entire season/game even if it has that plothole
