Ogboju Ode | Story from Oldest Surviving Ijala Ode Artist from Ogbomoso

Ògúnníyì Àrẹ̀ó Ìdòwú is the oldest surviving Ìjálá artist from Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́, and the current Baálẹ̀ Ońjálá Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́. He is from Àkátáápá's Compound, Ṣàjá/Bọ́láńtà-Máṣífà. Bàbá Ògúnníyì is the contemporary of the late Ìjálá exponent and philosopher, Ògúndáre Fọ́yánmu.
In this video, Ògúnníyì Àrẹ̀ó Ìdòwú shared his experience and history of Ìjálá with its dangers in Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ from his over 60-year experience in Ìjálá Ọdẹ performance.

I understand your concern as it is to us also. In fact, this video has been recorded since last year. The problem is that, we don't yet have funding support, and it is difficult to visit many of this old people without giving them a good monetary support. So far, everyone I visited, I try to give them what I could. But it has been difficult.
However, there are other clips from that last year encounter with him that would be uploaded soon.
