  • China is expanding its naval bases on the tropical island of Hainan in the South China Sea. Two of Beijing’s most important naval facilities, Yulia and Longpo, have undergone dramatic expansion to accommodate a growing fleet of vessels and to provide a home for China’s new sea-borne nuclear deterrent.
WSJ spoke to defense analysts who say the upgrades point to Beijing’s preparations for a possible conflict over Taiwan.

China released a controversial new ten-dash line map that not only encompasses much of the South China Sea and Taiwan, but also disputed land territories with India and Russia.

This lead to the stagnation of Chinese society and development, causing them to fall from being the most technologically and socially advanced nation in the world at the time to one that was easily taken over by and dominated by the various western powers along with Japane a few centuries later.

Ironically, China is not at all interested in doing that. They've seen what jingoism does to America, how it's inherently counter-revolutionary and reactionary, and obviously has no desire to lower the quality of its own citizenry's intellectual and moral framework. They see what and how America has built itself into the global hegemon that it is, and it wants to see that order scattered. It wants a multipolar world, not a unipolar world where they just replace America. China, ironically, is set and determined to do and be BETTER than America. Not that that's hard, given America is really the only global bad guy (with apartheid, genocidal regimes like Israeli zionism being a literal extension of American Empire, and functionally comparable to an important American state, like NY or Cali or Texas, not a boring state nobody cares about like Iowa or Ohio).

    Consequences of CHINA Abandoning Resistance
Geopolitical Vulnerability: China would face increased external pressures and potential loss of control over key regions.
Economic Disruption: Inability to secure the South China Sea could jeopardize China's economic stability and global supply chains.
Diminished Influence: Reduced presence would allow other powers, particularly the US, to dominate the region.
    Comparative Analysis: Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq
Afghanistan: Prolonged conflict and foreign interventions have led to instability and economic hardship.
Palestine: Ongoing conflict has caused economic and humanitarian crises.
Iraq: Foreign invasions have resulted in long-term instability and challenges in nation-building.
Deep-Seated Reasons for US Pressure on China
Global Dominance: The US aims to maintain its hegemonic status, viewing China's rise as a threat.
Economic Competition: China’s growth challenges US economic interests and influence in global markets.
Strategic Alliances: Supporting regional allies helps the US maintain a balance of power against China.
    Conclusion
China’s military enhancements and strategic expansions are crucial for protecting its sovereignty, economic interests, and regional influence. Abandoning these efforts could lead to vulnerabilities similar to those faced by Afghanistan, Palestine, and Iraq. The US actions are driven by a desire to maintain global dominance and economic supremacy, underscoring the complex dynamics of international power struggles.

Who can’t produce enough ammo to sustain a war for more than several weeks. Whose Navy breaks, collides at a blink of an eye. Aircraft carriers that have to be towed back to port.

China’s mobile land-based hypersonic missile forces cover out past the second island chain including S. Korea, Japan, Okinawa, Guam, Philippines and everything in between. They also reach out to the Eastern Indian Ocean. This DOES NOT INCLUDE their Air and surface/sub Naval fleet which also provides additional offensive power; hypersonic missile capabilities, etc.
China’s long-range land-based nuke/conventional ballistic and sub ballistic hypersonic missiles and space based nuclear glide vehicles can cover the entire U.S. and nearly the ENTIRE WORLD fired from China and off the coast.
Australia, Hawaii, Singapore, New Caledonia, and a staging base on an Indian Island in the Indian Ocean would also be important targets. In fact ALL U.S. supply chain staging areas are within range.

The US reserves the right to use nuclear weapons, either tactical or strategic nuclear weapons if attacked or believe that an attack is imminent by another nuclear power, even if said or attack or percieved threat of attack is of conventional or nuclear in nature..
That is to say, if the US believes say Russia is about to attack a NATO member soon, the US reserves the right to drop a nuke or two on Russia as a warning. For what its worth, they have agree not to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear powers thought, I will leave you to decided what size of a grain of salt you want to have with that.
Only two nuclear powers have signed and agreed to the No First Strike policy, and those are the PRC and oddly enough, India. Two nuclear power nations that have at best what could be called "frosty" relations with each other.

Reality is, all of these countries are just acting tough. Did you know Philippines stationed marines on a SUNK ship? Yes, not real land but a sunk ship. China responded by trying to block supply ships from reaching that boat, but so far no one has shot each other.
Not defending any side. China is certainly the bigger bully here, but the reality is often skewed due to the way media words things. Go look at the media bias between Russia/Ukraine vs Israel/Palestine. When Israeli dies, it's "slaughter" but when Palestinian die it's "collateral damage".

Don't get me wrong, I love Taiwan and hopes it keeps its culture (which is rooted in real Chinese culture, not the communist culture today).
