The intention of this video is to show you how to create more realism in the sim by injecting live traffic, AI traffic and airline liveries. These will appear at airport gates, parking and runways. Both AI and live will land and take off, as well as appear in the skies. I use all of the mods together to get a completely immersive experience, and they are all free of charge. In the tutorial I go through each mod and explain what it does and how to set it up. You can combine different mods in this list depending on what you want included in the sim. I always have these mods on as I enjoy the realistic environment they help to give.

Static AI: This file will Display Static Aircraft Models (Non Moving/Parked) at Parking Stands at the Various included Airports in your Microsoft Flight Simulator using the correct parking gates. Very easy to follow video to get more enhanced and much needed AI into to the sim. Question on the Static AI mod - how do you avoid spawning in on an occupied parking spot? Its happened to me at EDDS and will likely happen again at other static AI airports. Thanks and keep up the great video content !
Great tutorial. Lots of interesting stuff there. My brother is actually a real life 787 captain for Virgin Atlantic. He sometimes tells me when he's about to take off from Heathrow so I can find him in the sim using live traffic so I take off along side him. Hopefully with the enhanced live air traffic mod it might help put his plane in the sim more consistently as it can be quite random which live aircraft the sim chooses to render and which it doesn't. Hopefully with these other mods it might also more accurately place the correct Virgin livery on his plane.
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS Been mucking about with these mods today. They're definitely really interesting and I'll keep them going. I think the live air traffic mod is great but as the developer says its still very much in alpha phase. I have been experiencing issues with it, aircraft teleporting about the airport mainly. Its great when it works though. Flying around Heathrow and you see a small stack of airliners coming into land. Coupled with live ATC and its so immersive. I really wish Asobo would get this working out of the box though. I'd love to see it done properly in the sim.

Finally something that helped me sort this out! Just tried this in Atlanta and all planes visible do have the "new" liveries. Its just so depressingly empty for an airport of that size. Is there any mods to populate the airport with a higher density of static AI that use the real world liveries? Your intro clip looked incredibly populated, I only had like every 10th to 15th gate occupied with an aircraft.
Edit: Okay, setting the AI density back up really high makes the airport fully populated with nice liveries :) Only downside, as you warned is some aircraft spawning in each other but im willing to take that eyesore :D

nice tutorial, I came for the static only, now considering getting all of what you suggested.
But I have a question: does this mods "Easy Airlines + aircraft matching..." and the "Enhanced Live Traffic" ones change the behavior of the simulator's default live traffic?
Cuz it's veru so common airliners taking long to vacete and make you go around... or Live traffic planes keep doing crazy low flybys... Do this mods correct that, even a little bit?
About the "Static AI", when I choose a gate to begin, is there any chances that I will pop over an static plane?
Thanks very much for the video. I set this all up and gave it a try...I would say it works "okay". It's nice seeing some planes at gates, but there aren't as many as I thought there'd be, and a number of them still have the default A320neo livery or the wrong livery. Taxiing planes "jump"--i.e. they're stopped in one position, then disappear and a few seconds later reappear 100 feet further down the taxiway, then do the disappear/reappear thing all the way down the taxiway. Sometimes the planes are even oriented facing perpendicular to the taxiway as they make their way down the path. Also, airplanes in flight don't seem to take off and land from runways normally...they sort of glide by doing low passes over the airport that would get their licence revoked in real life ;)
So all in all, it's better than nothing, but still leaves a lot to be desired. MSFS really need to focus on this aspect of things, in my opinion, to really boost the realism of the sim.

Hi, the problem with enhanced live traffic is that this traffic is not included in the ATC service in the simulator which can cause problems during takeoff and landing, it is also very worrying that in live traffic mode planes do not take off from airports but only land, I hoped the repair would come with repair 6 but it didn't happen and I don't know if the repair is being worked on at all

DO i need to keep the ivao client installed after the IVAO CSL is installed/created? In other words, is there a need to run the ivao client everytime we start up msfs 2020 in order for this to work?

Great? But do the liveries also become the real-time live traffic as well? So for example if I log into Flightaware and see A Delta A320-4798 coming into land at KMIA from KDFW. Will I then see a Delta livery in my sim come into land as well? Thanks!
Hi There- I have followed the instructions however I am getting blank white liveries except for my aircraft . I had a livery mega pack in my community folder already. Is that whats causing the blank aircraft? Thanks for sharing

Question do you have to have the ivao for the live ai liveries
No traffic are showing at my end, no matter which settings I use as described in the video and testing my own with the in game settings. Mods are downloaded correctly too.
What can be wrong?
For some reason the AI planes that move are in the default MSFS liveries and they will park inside the static planes.

some planes are invisibe and some work with the correct livery but i cannot get to see a callsign for them and they also move really wrong. theyre sided and every 10 seconds they move one bit further. Any solutions?

Quick question for the static ai. When you spawn at a gate in say Heathrow. Will you be inside a plane at the gate or does the mod remove th plane at the gate you spawn at?

IVAO altitude installed "IVAO"- folder on my "Packages"- folder but didnt create anything in "comminity"- folder.... ?
It usually after a short time says connection lost. I have no plane models in the airport, altitude has issues like Notepad not found, etc.. & i cannot find live planes.
Please help , its only showing 777 , A320 and a330 models nothing else. Also the Enhanced live traffic is so stuttery , any ideas whats wrong ? I followed all steps

Also getting the invisible planes and many taxiing planes are jumping rather than moving smoothly- from the forums the easy airline mod seems to have been broken (maybe by the latest update ) so not sure how the poster has managed getting it working so well..........

Thank you for this great tutorial! My AI traffic on the ground seems to update too infrequently. Basically, what I see is still planes hopping 10 meters infront each time, so no fluid movement. Any way to fix this? Greetings from Germany.

just install ivao, but theres no ivao)x-csl folder in my comunity folder, ivao is in the the packages though but no ivao_x-csl folder, this is an old tutorial and the downloads may have changed?
I've experienced the same thing within the past 7 days or so. They have changed the system since a year ago-- you are correct. IVAO Altitude download is now separate from the MTL download (which is for MSFS), as well as the x-csl (which is for X-Plane). Hope that helps.

no luck getting the ivao into my community folder after doing the second install it has ivao_mtl but thats it, now just outside of the community folder is packagae sin ivao folder with pilot core and pilot ui... at a loss here

Hey ppl, the IVAO Altitude installer doesn't create the ivao_x-csl folder anymore. At least for me. I've tried everything. Instead, it installs a folder simply called IVAO. The livery pack mod cannot replace files inside the IVAO folder as it was made for the ivao_x-csl folder which no longer seems to be created when Altitude is installed.
UPDATE:
Just had a deep dive into what the installer is actually doing. The ivao_x-csl folder DOES actually get created but as a zip folder. The installer unzips the folder and extracts a bunch of crap into the before mentioned IVAO folder. The last thing the installer does is delete the ivao_x-csl folder. There it is. proof that this system has changed somehow (maybe an update). Mod broken.
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS read my update. Maybe you installed altitude before the installer changed. Regardless, it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Great tutorial, airports look much better now! But is anyone having issues with aircraft doubling up on some stands? I have taken the GROUND AIRCRAFT DENSITY level down to zero but still sometimes spawn with an A380 or 777 over me. Maybe another setting I have missed?

You say its a bug that makes the aircraft float but the IVAO models float because the static height settings in the flight_model.cfg files are wrong in some cases anyway along with the static pitch in a few cases too. Adjusted to the correct settings the aircraft sit on the ground perfectly. Its a painstaking process adjusting them but I am going to post the correct settings on the flight sim forum when I have finished so people can mod the files if they want too.

Its not perfect, some models I could not get to show in the sim but checking EGLL what I can see all seem to be on the ground now. If you find any issues, let me know what and where and I will have a go at correcting them but hopefully they are ok.
Good video but i have one problem, the live traffic only spawns in the standard planes with the game. So mostly the A320 NEO, how can i fix this ?

When using the enhanced live traffic the aircraft generated taxiing etc move in short hops ie stand still then appear several yards further along the taxi way for example. Have you experienced this?
Ok. Just tried it with pilot2atc which picks up all the traffic. Great!!
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS p2atc is instead of default atc
It recognises traffic is on the runway etc so will hold you short but unfortunately it doesn’t know what the traffic call signs are
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS I’ve been using it for around nine months now as the default atc is awful. It’s a good add on with several features such as route planning (although I use simbrief/navigraph). The developer is working on a new version

@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS yes I did just that… oh actually now it worked. It was just that I had an older version of the ivao-xcl file and when I got the new one, it stopped working but the older version worked for me so it’s wasn’t the static mod lol.
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS yes, and one more question, for the enhanced AI traffic addon, I have enabled it and I don’t really see the live ai traffic. If I do, they are generic planes and when I check on flight radar 24, the callsign is correct, but is in a totally different place than it is in msfs. And how can I increase the density of the static aircraft?

So do you currently use this or AIG? Which one do you prefer as close to reality?
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS Are you using AIG with Real time online or Off with Traffic controller flight plans? I’ve noticed that none is as close to reality or at least to what flightaware or Flight 24 tracker shows but that I think is more of a MS/Asobo issue so I was wondering if these mods were closer to reality, I guess I’m going to have to try them. Also, I noticed that in your AIG tutorial video you mentioned Airtraffic type to AI Offline but as per AIG it needs to be Off to work with Traffic Controller properly. Just FYI. Great video thou.
After trying these mods described above, I can say that this is the closest I've seen Live traffic to the real thing, at least per Flight 24 tracker, which to me is more detail and complete then Flight Aware. This will be my prefered method from now on. Great mods!
