- I heard all the hype now its time to check out AWESOME CHIPS here in Birmingham, freshly hand cut chips with a huge list of sauces and powders. This is defiantly something i wanted to try out.

I am Dutch Myself but this id never eat, in the netherlands we like crispy frys he dumps a shitload of sauce over the frys making it soggy

Definitely need to try these. Where in Brum is it? Think I'd go with the dry powders over the chips then some different dipping sauces as they will get too soggy.

The amount of salt in one chips is enough to give you a stroke ,if you are hypertensive .
Most places that serve fries in the UK use Dutch frying equipment, they are the most preferred choice anyway, and Dutch potatoes, the sandy soil in the Netherlands is ideal for growing potatoes. They may be called French fries, but the Dutch simply (and helped by circumstance) do it better. And served in a cone! It is underestimated how a cone can add so much to the experience, it allows the fries to breathe and not become too soggy and you can hold it easy off course. Over where I live they serve them in a little more steady paper cone that you can also rip open and use as a plate, just brilliant! Those are Bijlaards frites, the BEST in NL!!!
Why would they toss the chips in sauce? It would make them all so soggy and mushy at the bottom.

2 large potatoes cost £0.30p which would be the equivalent of large chips not excluding the hot fat to fry it in. how does that equate to £5.75 in price? lift the wool from your eyes people not worth the asking price.

I used to buy a portion of chips for 50p in the early 90s. Going up to 55p then 70p felt like I was starting to get ripped off haha. £1.80 at my local now
Not awesome at all. Just bog standard chips, lots of seasonings and sauces of course but the sauces are very watery and oddly dissipate after only a slight few minutes on the chips. Pricing is disgusting. It's just a facade. I actually did some work on one of the branches of Awesome Chips and was perplexed as to how they planned to make any money from it. After finally trying them I know why, because they just rip you off for nothing more than some chips and a little customer interaction.

Sorry, having been in the Chippy business for years, the only thing, the only three things that should go on Chips to enhance there flavour and not increase you chance of health problems are...Salt, Vinegar and Sauce brown or Red, that’s it, these Chips didn’t look particularly well cooked, and be franchised, there’ll be good ones and bad ones because quality is,t, can’t be guaranteed......
I've actually tried these and I still prefer chips from the traditional Chip shops! Sometimes keeping it simple is the way forward.
