Kia really got their you know what together! I am really impressed with the updates made for the 2014 model year. I took a 2015 Optima SXL Turbo out for a test drive last year, and I was more than impressed with this car! I couldn't believe how quiet and how nice it drove. For a car on the sporty side, it really has a nice ride. It felt very powerful for a turbocharged four cylinder too. Nice review as always :)
I forgot to mention that I would have bought one by now if it had an available adaptive cruise control system on it for the 2014-2015 model years. I do a lot of local and highway driving always wanting to use my cruise control, but I don't like having to always hit the brakes which turns it off when you have to slow down more than hitting the 1 mph slower button. I like that you don't have to use the brakes, and a lot of them will come to a complete stop, or darn near it. Perfect for driving around town. I don't like the less powerful 2016 Optima Turbo as much, so that was out for me. I'm still deciding on a slightly used 2014 Kia Cadenza, a 2014 Genesis 3.8 Sedan, 2014-15 Fusion Sport, or the 2013-14 MKZ 3.7 FWD like the one my parents just bought. They have a new Lincoln MKZ 3.7 FWD though. I would be looking for a used low mile one, no matter the car. Let the first owners take the hit driving it off the showroom floor. I have others I'm looking at as well, but I've typed enough here already lol.
You could buy a 2016+, my 2018 has adaptive cruise control.
I'm on my second motor in my optima turbo. It spun a main bearing. And if I can give u any advice keep every receipt oil, oil filters, and they want you to see them all if ones missing "void on warranty" and they hope for that. They first kept saying it was due to dirty oil then they took the motor apart it was clean. I only use Mobil 1 syn and k&n oil filters... Beware you'll be blamed at first. My car still hesitates after starting! took it in a couple of times no fix after motor replace. Car is quick but I should have bought a acura or 250 Mercedes for around the same price. If your looking to use the speed be careful getting on it u never know. Trading it in before warranty is up! If your sun roof starts having problems don't wait take it in adjustments are only for the first miles
i would go for the looks and speed, Optima.
I just love this car
Drove the 2015 optima and 2015 sonata, as i think the optima looks better and is much faster. But, the sonata has more features and is a lot smoother to drive. Id like to know what your opinion is on the two cars, and which you would buy. Thanks
I loved the walk around, maybe some quiet music in the background would be nice but besides that I like it even with out the music, my car just got t-boned looking at getting this year and model

Can someone please explain why my 2014 Kia Optima SX turbo doesn’t have this same radio if they are both the same make and trim why are there multiple versions? Did these features cost more? I have an older radio in mine.
Great looking car, but with such a small engine why is there so much front overhang?
Kia is taking it to the competition....nothing like it on the road....looked at a lot of other cars before I bought mine and none compared...the malibu failed so bad my salesperson at Chevy told me to buy the Kia hands down...

I like that you get a lot of car and technology for the money. Pretty good performance for the money as well. Though, I noticed in the magazines anyway, that the 2011 model seems to be the fastest. I know I read somewhere that they re-tuned the programming for the 2012 model year to increase gas mileage, which is probably the reason for the slower numbers in their testing. That's my guess anyway.

If you're going to spend 34 grand there are much better cars than this for around that price... if you're going to buy an optima buy a cheaper trim
That's a lie paintball130, What "Much better" cars are out there for $34 grand that will give you a Harman Kardon Sound system, Panoramic Sunroof, cooled Leather and heated seats, LED headlights and LED foglamps, 12 way driver power seat and 10 way passenger seat, nappa leather, heated steering wheel, rear heated seats, Android Auto/Apple Carplay, etc. etc. This IS the best deal for $34k. The features on this car are what you would find on a $50k+ Mercedes C300.
I would say buy one Dan Lins, I have a 2018 SX with tech pkg, it's an amazing car.

how much horse power of this car
The one in the video is 274 hp, they de-tuned the engine but now you access the torque much earlier, it's now 245hp in the 2016+ models.

@@guerratiburon some people would say the 2015 because it has more hp, but really the 2016 is better. It has a much more solidified feel, better turning capabilities, built with better reinforced steel, and it feels more like a luxury car. You should watch Savagegeese's video on it.

I get 16 mpg with moderate driving so i still don’t see the point of having a 4 cylinder engine when it gets the mileage of a v8.
I have this exact car in gray and I usually get 20-28 highest on highway was 36

That's a deal breaker for me unfortunately. If the steering wheel was round like the older versions, I would totally get it new (2016). Smh, I guess I'll get an older version.
What do you mean? The steering wheel is only round on non-SX optimas. On SX/SX-L optimas, the Steering wheel bottom is flat.

car seems slow
i don't like the sun roofs at all. More and more sun roofs just shatter or leak after time. These car have no resale value compared to the Camry or any Honda which is a shame.
