some 10 years ago, chinese phones were quite popular as an alternative to brand phones because they were of moderate quality, cheap, didn't come tied to mobile companies and in some cases actually better than expensive phones at the time (BLU phones were my damn favorite).
conveniences goes out of the window when you make your knockoff phone so expensive and nowhere higher in quality and since the western and allies are cutting them off from quality materials and tech, it is basically like buying a fancy novelty paperweight.

Have been using the Huawei laptop and that laptop looked fantastic with great screen materials just a great laptop, however, people hated it, the drivers were not great and the laptop had significant issues with stability and small problems were appearing and disappearing. I'm not recommending Huawei to anybody.

Huawei is also using die from SMIC, which is expensive because they're using their "7nm" process node which isn't great AND the defect rate is going to be higher. Either the CCP has to subsidize the fab, subsidize the phones or the consumer pays the price.
That's what makes an excellent quality fab like TSMC so special. They're making process nodes down to "3nm" and next year will put out a "2nm" node. They can also make these efficiently and with a better defect rate than what SMIC can get with a "7nm" node.
And I put quotes around those numbers because they don't relate to anything. They're now advertising numbers and nothing else. The only REAL comparison is power efficiency and transistor density for the end consumer/chipmaker. I'd also throw in defect rate but that's offset with cost for using the process node. Transistor density, measured in millions of transistors per sq. millimeter (MTr/mm2).

I actually noticed that in one of the electronics stores. The demo units were definitely running way better but the release models get laggy after a while. I don't know if it's the SoC or if the OS is messed up but I never expected something like that from Huawei.
I installed a device statistics viewer app and when it comes to RAM, it's not fully used up and the CPU usage is like jumping up and down sometimes which is kinda concerning. I definitely returned the phone and started using my old phone again which was definitely running better despite being 3 years old

Didn't a teardown show the chip is actually exactly the same as the P60 series? They hadn't even bothered to change the serial numbers. It may have been slightly overclocked compared to the P60, but this couldn't be confirmed.

The odd thing is, they're not talking about low quality. That means the image generation model has been trained on nudes. Early stable diffusion 5 wasn't, and it generated monstrosities, not knowing what even a girl in a bikini looked like, much less nude. FWIW, it barely was able to do women at all, they just weren't in the training data.

i see the lagging seems worst only on the train-booking app. maybe it's just an issue with that particular app? granted, it still lags behind the xiaomi in the video editing example but at least it's not dropping frames as badly as in the train-app example.
That P70 has overclocked issue. I remember to over clocked my phone back in Cingular phone days around 2007. You can make your phone to have 120% performance but software will glitchy and froze at time and battery will drain fast and hot. Sounds like China is doing the same.

back in 2019 my mother bought me a huawei phone and i crushed the phone after 5 months.. at first i was excited because i have a brand new phone then i installed an online game but the phone keeps disconnecting me.. what i did is that i uninstalled the game then installl it again.. it still the same also when i was commenting on the game it lagged and disconnected the screen freezes.. there's also no phonebook and i cannot send the message because no built-in messenger..
