    Thank you for this! I hope more people (including HP) see this. Nowadays, when people tell me they just bought an HP I just sigh and tell them that I'll try to help them fix it *when* (not if) it breaks.

      @ComputerStuff update I'm with Asus now, I've been with them since July and I don't regret switching, Asus does what HP don't.

    You forgot to mention about the laptop battery. It screws up after one year of use.

      @@ComputerStuff I have a 14dk1025wm, had it since 2020, and only after 9 months it started doing this crashing bullshit where it freezes completely and you have to restart it. After 3 years of use the battery gave out and now I can only use it when it's plugged, if it isn't, it shuts off. The freezing bullshit never stopped either

      I'll try and comb through their privacy policy to find the exact verbiage but here's the elaboration on that:
      If you do a quick search, or for that matter own an HP scanner, you'll find that you're now required to sign up and log in to an HP Smart account before they let you do the majority of your tasks, including scanning. In the privacy policy of HP Smart there is a litany of verbiage that indicates that they will take a certain amount of usage data and analytics and moreso because there is no way to opt out they have access to change their privacy policy at any time without most users knowing about it. This implies a certain amount of privacy intrusiveness in that alone, but ultimately opens the gate for them to analyze your data and documents as when you scan a document it's being done so through their HP Smart software.
      Another travesty which I didn't mention in the video is that HP has the ability to BRICK the printer in the case of whatever reason it wants. I had this happen to a few clients. One person used unauthorized ink (sorry, but its your printer, if you want to put non-OEM ink in it, no matter how bad it is, you should be allowed to) - bricked the printer. Another person had an issue where the setup of HP Smart didn't go properly, so the entire printer was bricked (even with basic drivers) until the HP Smart setup was able to complete (several hours of phone calls with HP until a higher up rep was able to register the unit in their system). Not even a factory reset would fix the problem.
      This throws up so many damn red flags that for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would even entertain an HP printer.
      *rant over - lol

    I have an HP-14dk1025wm and it's piece of shit. Only 9 months into owning it and it began crashing all the time. The screen and cursor freezes. It doesn't respond at all and we've been dealing with this bullshit for 3 years now, I genuinely hope HP goes bankrupt and rots like it fucking should. Is there any reason for the crashing?

    • @ComputerStuff
      @ComputerStuff  Před 6 měsíci

      Could be a number of reasons. Try updating your graphics card driver and seeing if that helps.

    Amen to this! HP has been a zombie brand for years now, selling off their past glory.
