Previously, it was believed that the PS5 was outselling the Series family at a 2:1 ratio since launch, so if these new numbers are accurate, it represents a recent widening of the gap between the two consoles. In related news, Hi-Fi Rush, the formerly Xbox exclusive game, will be getting its final update this week. Playstation is too locked into console sales. Where you play Xbox games should not matter. Soon Xbox launches the mobile store. Maybe in the future they make Xbox handheld. Play Xbox on your gaming laptop or stream on your Samsung TV. The console war is complete retardation. Exclusives shouldn't even exist on any platform.

Microsoft will be one of the largest publishers they set their own prices as do others. If Sony wanted to charge $100 for it's own titles the market would reflect in sales. Besides There are publishers now charging well over for all sorts of editions. Microsoft themselves launched Starfields 3 early access edition at 100. So Xbox disappearing is meaningless. There will be other's that fill the gap.

They are spending 200 to 350 million making exclusives . When only 20 to 40 percent are buying them. They aren't recouping the money they spent making them. It is expected Xbox console demand would be reduced as soon as they committed to putting all their games on PC a few years ago. My worry is they continue to use the consequences of their decision to justify why they should be allowed to buy publishers. To get away with buying ABK, they touted their incompetence (under oath, no less) and their low market share. Those things are likely to continue and their market share will drop further when they go multiplatform, so it can be used as justification again in the future.
Dont forget most of the Xbox business is ABK and Bethesda which were already multi-platform prior to Microsoft's plan to buy their way to the top, so restoring the status quo is not creating additional revenue for anything other than Xbox Studios games that were only ever on Xbox. Game Pass cratering game sales on Xbox makes going multi-platform a necessity, particularly because ABK and Bethesda will also lose sales to Game Pass when at least the latter previously was not.
It’s pretty clear, Xbox Series-X is going to be the last Xbox console.

So far not counting the multiplatform titles, my PS5 have GoW Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Returnal, Helldivers 2, Demon Souls Remake, FFXVI, FFVII Rebirth, Spiderman Miles Morales, Spiderman 2, Rise of The Ronin, Stellar Blade, Sackboy A Big Adventure, Gran Turismo 7. It is not great, but it is not that bad either, hopefully they have more PS exclusives in 2025.
