I can't even count the number of times I've gotten free shit from places that are closing down or moving. I literally have a couch right now that that folds out into a bed from the architect that had an office next door. They literally left it on the street cuz it didn't fit his truck. My favorite memory was from when my dad was helping a place move out and afterwards he was just handed a stack of gift cards. Neither of us knew what it was for, they were these really thick plastic or laminated cards and you were to scratch them to get the money for the games (it was Ragnarok or some game on Garena) but neither of us knew what it was for so I threw most of it some parking lot practicing card throwing. Just saying, I feel it's more common than you think. This person might be lying but, why does it matter either way?
