    I'd love footage from any algorithm believers too. I'm very curious to see how much the algorithm impacts your losses.

      IMO people get it wrong the the "algorithm" because it's incredibly unlikely that it would look at and analyze entire teams. If it exists, it's much more likely that it just looks at the lead matchup and that's it.

      @CalebPeng Thanks for sharing my footage. Normally I would try to do more meta or anything that is more relevant to pvp but I took a break and have come back to play so I wasn’t really up to date on Pokémon rankings. I do enjoy playing pvp I will mix it up once in awhile so thanks again and I will keep you posting on how far I go.

      @@carlosvillalvazo8527props for sharing your footage for critique I hope you can listen to Caleb and improve. I don't really believe in an algorithm and while I can't seem to reach legend I've made it to 2900 3 out of the last 4 seasons. It only gets harder but you can do it

      People that think it’s some algorithm fail to realize when your climbing you face harder and harder opponents, I know wild concept that 2500,2600,2800,3000 elo is better and better

      Yes, I think so. May be you can copy their technic team, or method but you should be solid team and skills for expert your teams such as count move, cool down and safe switch technic.

    Caleb: this is amazing! It was so helpful. It was a big lesson when you said that with the Skarmory Lead, you don't switch to Diggersby, because then he will switch and your diggersby will have no chance of seeing their skaromory. Big lesson for me. Hey, did you go to Emory? I went to Ga Tech just down the road from y'all.

    There are ELO META’s… people don’t understand that about every 200 ELO or so the Meta will shift certain mons and leads and teams. I’ve never climbed from 2,000 to 3,000 with the same team.. sometimes you have to adjust and get out of certain slums to continue the climb.

    • @TolisWorld
      @TolisWorld Před měsícem

      How do you just "adjust"? I've got 10,000 battles, got to 2970 2 times, know all the counts, but I just don't understand how people can just make teams against the Pokemon they are seeing!

    • @916vkidd
      @916vkidd Před měsícem

      @TolisWorld sometimes all I do is switch my usual lead. So say I'm using chargbug/poliwrath/wishcash. Say I start to see a bunch of fire on the lead. I'd just switch charge and wish and start seeing wins.
      Or say you start seeing a certain type of mon who keeps whooping you. Maybe switch out just one pokemon to cover that now obvious weakness. Boom start winning again. Stuff like that. Small moves reset algorithm

    I might have to start screen recording and send some videos to you. I reached legend for the 3rd time on a buzzer beater run. I couldn’t get my libre though as I only had one more set left and came up one win short of the libre.

    How do you make teams according to the meta? I have 10,000 battles, got to 2970 2 times, I know all the counts, I have really good reaction time, but I just don't understand how you can look at the teams youre facing and make a team against it! The only time I've ever had success with my own team was seasons ago lanturn sableye Umbreon.

    • @CalebPeng
      @CalebPeng  Před měsícem +2

      That’s a great question! For starters, not all of my teams and ideas end up working out well 😅 but of course those failed experiments rarely make it onto CZcams. I generally look at what’s in the meta and then see what tends to be good corebreakers for them. Most top players are also looking at PvPoke’s rankings so taking that into account, trying to outsmart them and counter them is usually my approach. Sometimes the meta is just too strong to overcome and I just lean into the top rated Pokémon. I do a lot of team building for show 6 grassroots and official tournaments so it definitely comes with a lot of practice too.

    Algorithms exist in many games with half the budget Niantic has. There’s one game that tells you that you start at difficulty zero. As you win, it can climb to as high as twelve. There already is an algorithm established in go battle league for instance, queuing you up with players around your elo. Also, there isn’t enough players playing the game 24/7 to pair matches hence a need for an ai/algorithm helping people to continue to play their games. Another example is your own experience. Everyone that has played this game for two minutes understands that the very second you change your team you immediately see things that you haven’t & now hard counter you. It happens far too often for it to be a coincidence. It’s hilarious that people being paid & or sponsored by Niantic laugh away the idea of an algorithm. Algorithms openly exist on so many platforms. This isn’t a new thing or idea by any stretch of the imagination. It exists on CZcams, Twitter, especially a few years ago on Twitter, Google, on countless games, etc.

      An algorithm definitely exists, but it isnt designed to hard counter a player's team.

    • @omarholder9036

      There is a difference between a matchmaking algorithm, which every online game has and an algorithm designed to make whatever team you are running struggle. What people fail to realize about this algorithm talk is that Pokémon is just too complex for it. It's not just a matter of A beats B beats C. It's 18 single types, a million double types, moveset that cross types even outside those types. It goes on and on
      The things that affect your battles are too numerous to count. What people at your elo are queuing with? Who is logging off and logging on? Where in the world the battlers are queuing in from which affects Mon availability? how time of day affects in each area who is battling? What teams CZcamsrs put out, who sees them and who chooses to play them or counter them the next few days.
      And none of that variability has anything to do with Niantic. There is no guarantee the team that counters yours is queuing the same time as you, nor is the reverse true. That perfect matchup just got into a battle 5 seconds before you pressed queue. Now you run into someone using a line that counters yours but they only just put that team together for the first time in the last 2 minutes.
      They can't even get this game to stop lagging consistently and you guys believe they have a real-time, team reading and pairing software to make your life difficult.
      Get over yourself. You're one battle of thousands going on every second. You aren't special. All the supposed algorithm results you guys get is in your head. You play one team long enough and you will encounter everything everyone is running. But your sample size is too small, and recency bias is a thing and people usually only remember the teams that hard counted them and not the inverse.

      Some of the best battlers in the world only have 60% win rates for an entire pokemon go battle league career and they are the top battlers. 60k battles and only 30k wins, if this so called algo didn’t exist we’d clearly have people in the 80s/90s win rate but the fact that our top battlers in the community sit at win rates close to 50% trumps anything anyone says really
