This was also pain, but more manageable than the 200cc tournament. On to the commentary.
    2:06
🎼 Fire fire, light the fire. 🎶
By the way, Alex has been put on notice that I'm going to sic my Miis of the Abyssgard twins on him in 2024. *BAU BAU!* 🐶🐶🐾
    2:32
    Not even a Blooper? 👀
    2:52
    Ooh... Pretty colors...
I may or may not have gotten a frame-perfect pause here.
    3:09
For all of my struggles yesterday and today, at least I avoided Jank Jank Summit. -Though you did no favors by sending me to Nitro Rainbow Road, which will be a future timestamp.-
    6:21
After several seconds of black screen, Justin's back. 👏
    9:49
    Hitting a Toad with a ⭐. Nice. 👍
    11:08
Looks like the light blue Yoshi in the glider section is the one that used it. Post-race standings reveal that Yoshi to be Parker. If I had to guess, I'd say Parker used the Lightning the instant he got it, and you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
    13:37
I see a Father Boo with Wood tires. I couldn't tell from the starting line positions, but the end of the race told me that it was indeed me using Ririka's build.
    15:50
A music note just gave me a squishality here.
    16:20
Sometimes I need to be more mindful of you with my course selection when we're in the same lobby. That previous race was Phone Guy's selection, but he and I were the only 2 to pick Melody Motorway there. This time, I was part of the "DK Mountain hivemind" without knowing how it affects you on inward.
    16:32
zelda must've seen my Father Boo, so she switched over to him for this race. 👻😆👑
    17:04
Is it even possible to trick there? Every time I try, it doesn't work, and you clearly attempted to trick with the same result.
    18:41
I don't remember what the third course was, but I know I picked it, whatever it was. That means we can safely rule out the jankest of courses and even some of the "mid" courses, as I would have picked a return to Melody Motorway if the third option had been a lower-tier course. I want to say I picked "Sam's favorite course", but I don't remember if Bangkok Rush was the third option or not.
    19:08
Did Funky just take a green shell that was meant for me, or did you intend for it to hit Funky all along? 👀
    20:25
That was you who ruined my race here? I thought that was a retaliatory green from Phone Guy despite the fact that I wasn't even the one who hit him.
Are you sorry, though? Are you really? I'm calling sus shenanigans on this one. 👀
Yeah... These hyper-competitive tournaments are a little much for me, as this commentary is showing. I probably need to stick with the goofy/casual tournaments. 🤔
    20:45
Oh I know. Now. See previous timestamp if you don't believe me.
In all likelihood, you'll be the first victim of my Abyssgard twin Miis. Probably next weekend. 🐶🐶🐾
    21:59
*cough* New York Minute. Kefka Palazzo. *cough*
You may want to amend your thought here.
    23:35
Meanwhile, I probably have the record for *third* place coins. Granted it only happened to me once. In single-player. But I'm talking about a *third* place coin. I'd be surprised if that happened to anyone else. Ever.
    24:34
Now it's your turn to "fire fire, light the fire".
    25:28
Did I "fire fire, light the fire" *both* of us? I know I hit myself with one on the final lap, and somebody hit you with one, but I don't remember if anyone else had fire at that exact moment.
    25:59
Yep, and because of Toad Circuit, if I did "fire fire, light the fire" you at Ninja Hideaway, I can't say we're "even" because of how the hits affected the races, but that is one hit apiece.
    30:02
We get my London pick, I'm doing a decent job of running all race long, and *THAT* happens. Welp... as Shortcat says, "guess I'm bagging now".
    30:30
If you look on the minimap, you can see an 11th place Father Boo spinning, dropping to 12th. Fortunately, it's London, so there's still plenty of race left, even here.
    32:42
Don't underestimate the Australian Rat. Don't believe me? Check out my Berlin time trial.
    34:11
Gee thanks for Nitro Rainbow Road.
In case it's difficult to tell through text alone, this is sarcasm. Of course, that should have been easy to figure out from an earlier timestamp, but I can never be too careful.
    36:54
After the tournament I had up to this point, I needed a "no skill track". -Of course, I also needed items at the end of the first turn each lap, but I didn't get those in the second or final lap and don't remember if I did or didn't in the first lap.-
    37:48
    Two things.
    1. On my screen, I was never actually behind you on this turn.
    2. You say I "might want to move" as if I can hear you. 😆 Which, since I'm watching this video, I can hear you now... but I couldn't hear you when that "advice" would have actually been helpful.
    40:15
One of maybe three times in the entire tournament I even have the slightest chance of hitting you with an item (excluding Lightning and Spiny Shell pulls, as those can hit people in the front while the player using those items is still stuck in the back), and you object? Meanwhile, you've had several opportunities to hit me with items and showed little (if any) remorse. Double standard, much? 🤔
    40:46
If you need a laugh, watch as Father Boo takes a dip in the blue stuff.
    41:06
That Spiny Shell may or may not have been thrown by me. I don't actually remember, but I think I had one at this point in Vancouver.
    41:18
That Lightning was definitely mine. I had trouble seeing who did or didn't have a dodge active, but I saw enough vulnerable drivers at the front of the pack and there wasn't a whole lot of race left for them.
    41:36
What you saw there was Nintendo lag. I wasn't hit in the Canucks' home arena this race.
    42:01
Yet again, item spam at the finish line ruins my race. I can't tell you how many times this happened last night.
    45:24
That red shell was you too? Good thing I had i-frames this time.
    46:02
Oh look. We take the shortcut back-to-back.
    49:11
The second Lightning at Not-So-Sunset Wilds, and look where Father Boo is this time. I thought my race was beyond salvaging at this point.
    49:27
That was Juicky's red shell. I had triple 🍄 and a Fire Flower.
    55:02
Ah, Koopa Cape. The site of an infamous Bullet Bill I had the pleasure of watching nearly 2 weeks ago. Saw the perp live and the victim in a VOD, and the victim was hilarious shortly before and immediately after the incident. 🤣
    56:23
I can't tell if that's Wiglett or zelda going "fire fire, light the fire".
    59:34
Just like a little over 35 minutes ago, it's your turn again to "fire fire, light the fire".
    1:00:46
The pain is almost over. Only one race left.
    1:03:27
At least your tournament ended with a win and Matthew finishing second. The story of my tournament is, whenever I'm within sniffing distance of a podium, finish line item spam drops me to the middle of the pack, with you being directly responsible at Toad Circuit, but that's only one race out of 24.
I'm almost certain to sit out these December tournaments in the future, but I'll still participate in the goofy/casual tournaments and whenever you have a weekend friend room. Probably not every time, as there could be external factors at play on a given Thursday or weekend.
If the past month has taught me anything, it's that I belong in a more casual setting. I had a lot of fun in tournaments set up by Hololive talents to allow them to play with viewers (though I was never lucky enough to get into a lobby with any of the Hololive talents themselves, at least not as of yet, so I ended up playing against other viewers on at least 3 separate occasions), which is one of the reasons why my recent builds are paying tribute to them. Compared to the Hololive tournaments, the item spam in Alex tournaments is incredibly frustrating. The last such tournament in which I participated was hosted by Okayu the morning of the 200cc tournament, and I was often the only American in a primarily Japanese lobby and still managed good finishes in most of my races.
    1:04:53
That's sure to be a fun video, and hopefully less stressful than the 200cc and 150cc tournaments were.

2:06 Fire, fire, light the fire. Fire fails to hit me. lol
Alex has been warned by Remy. lol
2:32 This timestamp will come to haunt me much later.
2:52 I didn't even see that bomb. Thankfully I had a shroom to get the hell out of there lol
3:09 Not my worst Jank Jank Summit race... If it weren't for lap 3...
Yeah, we'll get to Nitro Rainbow Road
6:21 Another editing mishap I failed to catch. Dammit.
      9:49 OUTTA THE WAY!
11:08 It still sucks either way. I don't care who used it.
13:37 You were in a lot of these races
      15:50 RIP Father Boo lol
16:20 Playing DK Mountain on inside drift would make sure I played worse than I ended up doing. The gap cut is janky, just like most things are on inward.
16:32 Doubling up on Father Boo... With Zelda involved that most certainly means trouble lol
      17:04 I don't think so. I haven't tried either.
18:41 If memory serves me right Bangkok was on the board for this round. I didn't switch back to inward because of Melody Motorway. Had I switched, we would've went there (though admittingly I didn't race badly on Melody Motorway. Lap 3 just happened and ruined everything.)
19:08 Considering my attitude toward that player in particular, yes. It was meant for him. Of course it lagged.
20:25 No, it was definitely a rage-induced Daisy who was going to destroy everything in her path without mercy. It took me a bit to realize I just ruined your podium.
20:45 It was just you being in the wrong place at the wrong time lol
21:59 Ok fine. lol Doesn't change the fact that this same issue has benefitted people it should not have in this tournament.
23:35 Outside of horrendous lag, I have no idea how that could happen. But these 2nd place coins ruined a lot of my chances in this tournament, especially considering if the roles were revered I'd be getting two reds thrown at me.
      24:34 YOU'RE FIRED!
25:28 I couldn't see who threw the fire from that perspective.
25:59 And I started to notice a spike of violence from you in some of these races after Toad Circuit, and according to Matthew I was a giant pain throughout most the tournament.
      30:02 Ouch.
      30:30 Oh dear, oh dear...
32:42 That is a super tight line. I'll take your word for it but no way I'm trying that with outward.
34:11 If I'm picking Nitro RR, especially on inward, you know I've lost my mind and went insane.
36:54 I am so sick of this track. Even if I'm doing poorly I still don't want to see it. I have to apologize for the complaining.
37:48 Nintendo lag being Nintendo Lag. And yes Remy. MOVE. Or die. LOL
40:15 LOL Maybe my response would've been different if I did not have such a trash pull.
40:46 Father Boo found the blue stuff. Wait, he can swim? Or does he just float through the water? Don't answer that. I lost my train of thought
41:06 Meanwhile I dodge it and deliberately hit the Funky Kong out of rage.
41:18 That shock hurt, but that Waluigi did more damage by knocking me off my line and causing me to miss the item set
      41:36 Nintendo...
42:01 Yep... Nothing new here. Sad part is you know its going to happen.
45:24 I was getting very aggressive at this point.
46:02 Father Boo just tailed me!? lol
49:11 Luckily for you Nintendo decided that I was the one to get karted.
49:27 Thanks Nintendo for giving people red shells who shouldn't be pulling them. -_-
55:02 I don't remember much of Koopa Cape races. Its all a blur. All I do remember is that I got my first win on the track before the tournament, where I front ran the whole thing. NEON saw everything.
56:23 Might've been Zelda considering her position.
59:34 Fire fire, light the fire... YOU'RE FIRED!
1:00:46 Shy Guy Falls, and I had beef with Matthew this time...
1:03:27 I turned that race on its head with that Father Boo Shock Dodge, also leading to Matthew sharing a clip where he became unhinged at the whole situation. lol Backing Crazy Reactions got Matthew that 2nd place finish.
I pointed this out at the end of the video, but the number of participants nearly doubled compared to the 200cc tournament. It was super competitive, but also filled with players who don't have the slightest idea how or when to use their items which makes things 100 times harder than they already are. If people are actually smart with item usage, lobbies can actually be pretty tame. This cannot be said about GWA lobbies. Hopefully you'll have fun in the more goofier tournaments that are coming in the future.
1:04:53 The bonus video was a session recorded after the Floppa collab and roughly an hour before Alex's stream. Compared to the tournament and the collab, this bonus video is light hearted and was a bit of a riot. We all had fun. Its also another long one, so grab a snack and prepare to enjoy another hour of Mario Kart when it launches at 2PM EST today.

As you may have picked up on throughout my overnight commentary (that started while it was still technically last night and didn't actually get submitted until a little after midnight for me), I've found a way to entertain myself whenever I see the Fire Flower, courtesy of Hololive Advent, as the lyric at this timestamp is featured in their debut song.
And yes, Alex has been warned. As have you in at least one later timestamp, which I'll get to when that/those timestamp(s) arrive(s).
      2:52
Praise be to a good 🍄.
      11:08
Yeah. As you saw in a Sunset Wilds timestamp, getting caught in a horrible spot when Lightning strikes sucks. Obviously this one was worse for you than that later incident was for me, as there was some time for me to recover at Sunset Wilds while there was no time for you to recover here.
      13:37
In hindsight, I sure wish I wasn't in your Toad Circuit race, but I'll get back to that when reaching those timestamps. 😛
      15:50
If there's a silver lining to squishalities, it's that, unlike the Fatalities in Mortal Kombat that are being parodied, nobody actually dies in a Mario Kart squishality. Father Boo is fine, at least physically. 👻👑😆
      16:20
Ah, so it's inward that's janky, not the DK Mountain course itself. That makes sense, but changes nothing about how I should have been mindful of you because I did see you on inward at Melody Motorway.
      16:32
I guess you could say that, at least for this race, zelda was Jessie and I was James. Where's Jacob to be our Meowth when we need him? Or would I be the Meowth since Jacob and zelda have doubled up on Father Boo more frequently than I have with either of them? 👀
      18:41
If your memory is accurate, then I definitely picked the Streets of Siam. Unfortunately, we didn't get my selection, whatever it ended up being.
      19:08
Oh nice quick reaction, instantly attacking Funky the moment he moved in between us so your shell had zero chance of hitting me here.
      20:25
The hyper-competitive nature of this tournament got to you too. I bet a lot of the GwA regulars had a similar experience, and those who didn't get frustrated with the item spam were likely the ones instigating it.
I would have liked to have a chance of getting in an Alex intro, but I think my only chance of that is if he brings back the "fan favorite" title that Tiffany held in the 2022 intro or creates a new title just for me. Especially since I don't have it in me to keep up when the tournaments are this competitive and have this much item spam.
      21:59
Very true. I blame Wave 5 and a failure to course-correct in Wave 6 for how the interaction involving item trails and rotating triple items has changed. To be fair, I blame Wave 5 for a lot of my current issues with this game, but this one is a legitimate issue that didn't even exist prior to Wave 5.
      23:35
I doubt lag was involved with my third place coin, since it was a single-player VS race with 11 COMs, but I don't have an explanation on how I could have gotten that.
Second place coins are much more troublesome than third place coins, and are another problem caused by Wave 5, but unlike my other problems with the wave, this one is fairly easy to dismiss as a mild inconvenience. *IF* the other problems with the wave were resolved, that is.
      25:59
The only time I noticed an increase in violence on my end was when Shigeru would give me the Fire Flower. For the rest of my items, I played almost exactly as I would have in a more relaxing tournament, so any violence on my part that didn't involving the Fire Flower was what I believed to be the right play.
      32:42
I agree that line is super tight, and I bet the only reason Hakos Baelz' build fit through that opening in my Berlin time trial was because Shy Guy is a small driver. You're welcome to check out the time trial whenever you like, as I'm unlikely to get rid of it because of how good I felt with that line and the fact that the time is faster than the Nintendo staff ghost's time.
      34:11
I was also struggling to maintain my sanity, but I succeeded. Had I gone insane myself, you might have seen Kefka in these later races. 🤡😆
      37:48
I still couldn't hear you when this was actually happening, but I did take the outside when I noticed the ⭐ icon behind me and the lap changed.
I'm just glad somebody who knows what they're doing had the ⭐. There was an incident at SNES Rainbow Road during my early days in the GwA community where I did the exact same thing, only for the player with the ⭐ to deliberately take the outside as well for the sole purpose of hitting me. At least when Kefka went "terrorist" on Satori at Wind Woods on August 6, that was the inside line, so it was only natural for me to have Kefka make the adjustment to hit Satori and take a better line at the same time.
      40:15
Sometimes Shigeru likes to troll those of us who play his go-kart game. Especially when one of us has taken to using bikes and the other's favorite vehicle body is the adorable Wiggler ATV.
Speaking of the Wild Wiggler, I may need to use that more in future goofy/casual tournaments. It's not meta anymore (thanks a lot, Wave 4 💔), it's cute as ever (only the Cat Cruiser and Yoshi Bike/Cycle, both of which are now meta, are comparable in that department), and the added Invincibility could come in handy when it comes to avoiding getting Mario Karted.
      40:46
Maybe Father Boo was looking for the berry bush that was fatal to Alex and thought the other Minecraft meme held the answer. 🤔
      41:06
Some Funky Kongs deserve getting hit. The one you kept seeing in this tournament was one of those.
The Funky Kong I used for a race during Okayu's Friday morning (which for her was Friday night because, you know, Japan and all) was on the chill/fun/goofy side. I even put him on the Wild Wiggler so I could see the "TRANQUILO!" trick animation (where Funky lies down on his surfboard, which he doesn't do when driving a car/kart and the Cat Cruiser was my alternate vehicle body choice at that time). My Funky Wiggler combo actually won a race at Waluigi Stadium, in no small part because of Spiny Shell awareness on the final turn of the final lap.
      41:18
Getting bumped off lines always sucks, especially when the bump makes you miss items or fall off the track.
I'm just glad that I didn't actually give anyone up front a dodge when I used that Lightning. If this race had been before Toad Circuit, I may have been okay with giving you a dodge, but after? Probably not unless you were one of the 2 or 3 drivers behind me.
Yeah, that Toad Circuit finish is going to linger for a while. That's one of the reasons why I have plans for Miis of Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard to join your future friend rooms, and is the reason why those plans are accelerated to be the next time I actually join one of those friend rooms, with Fuwawa being first and Mococo following. BAU BAU! 🐶🐶🐾
      42:01
It's easy to see in hindsight, and maybe I knew it was going to happen as it was happening, but for whatever reason (either not expecting the backspam, which would have been foolish on my end, or how fast the shell reached me from seemingly out of nowhere), the backspam surprised me at the moment of impact.
      45:24
Maybe when you "noticed a spike in violence" from me, that was projection because of the spike in violence you were (also?) experiencing. Whatever the case, this tournament was getting to both of us, so this particular shell was understandable.
Somewhat related, why do you always seem to get red shells whenever you're behind me here? There was the one that hit Larry in June of 2022 that led to a COM Toad finishing ahead of him, and there's this one where the only saving grace for Father Boo was i-frames. That may only be two, but I don't remember us playing here all that often, and when we do, it's even more rare for me to actually be ahead of you, so maybe those two incidents are the only two times that's even been the case, with both times seeing you throw a red shell at me.
      49:11
If what happened at the rest of this race is the best I can expect from "good" luck in a hyper-competitive GwA tournament, that's yet another reason for me to need to stick with the goofy/casual tournaments going forward.
      55:02
My commentary here was referencing what happened with Hakos Baelz and FuwaMoco. I believe I shared the specifics in a reply in a previous video.
Bae: "Come on, give me Bullet Bill."
**gets run over by a Bullet from Fuwawa or Mococo, whichever one was playing at Koopa Cape**
      Bae: **gasps** "Not like that."
Nice job on the frontrunning victory here prior to the tournament. 👏
      1:03:27
"If people are actually smart with item usage, lobbies can actually be pretty tame." That might explain why I had such a fun time playing in Okayu's tournament. With primarily Japanese players, even the inexperienced players in those lobbies are going to be smart with item play. 😄
I don't know if any of them expected me to be spammy when they saw an American flag next to my name, but I hope the ones who saw me in their lobbies picked up on my style of play and if any of them thought I would be spammy, they realized that wasn't actually the case.
      1:04:53
I'll continue to look forward to the bonus upload. Fortunately, that's less than 6 hours away at this point. 😄
