    Great video. Thank you.
    I liked the target acquisitions you were making in the parking garage, - but I really liked when you showed the view in the woods.
    I was going to order this tonight (mainly due to the super lightweight), but after seeing your video, that reticle is just too hard to see in contrasting light. (which is where I would be using it) - I may still get one to try it down the road, but I think these old-man eyes will need a lighted reticle as a primary.

    Just got a Browning BLR and this scope seems just about perfect. A fixed power 4x scope would be fine for hunting where I live - a shot over 300 yards is highly unlikely. But for the price and weight this 1.5-4x seems just about perfect.
    BTW I have a Leupold FXII Scout scope - fixed 2.5x - and have no trouble shooting with both eyes open. I wouldn’t use it at close quarters, but 25 yards and out is fine.

    I'm considering getting this for an inline muzzleloader. Most of the shots taken will be anywhere from 20 yards out to 100 yards. I'm not sure why Leupold didn't just make this a 1-4 scope; seems maybe a ploy to try and sell their higher end scopes, which start with a 1x magnification.

    If you can't use 1.5x inside of 25 yards something is wrong. I've used 4x at 60 feet for squirrels high up in a tree and in 2 seconds from seeing it to shot. 1.5x is way easier and people are much larger than a squirrel. 1.0x is a non issue, maybe not having a Red dot could be to some.

    • @robertfree1908
      @robertfree1908 Před rokem

      As a Leupold user for decades I’ve seen no “sporting” scope models tougher. With heavy recoil the base screws are at more risk. Possible shearing. Leupold makes these and even the VX-3s with the big 50mm objectives light in weight. Which greatly keeps the torque on the scope(and bases) when firing to a minimum. These models are made to survive and thrive mounted on 375 H&Hs, 458 Lotts and the like. I would not worry about durability issues on a 7-7.5lb 45-70

    i have the PA 3x Mp and i love it, but i keep wondering if an lpvo like this one would be better, but, after looking at teh close up of the concrete building in the forest, I dont think this is going to be any better than the fixed 3x. Ideally this scope would be a 1-4, with little fisheye, and it would be soo much more appealing, even without illum. but the only draw back to the PA 3x MP is the lack of 1x, and this doesn't solve that problem.

    Leupold VX-Freedom1.5-4x20 (MOA ring reticle) vs. Swampfox Arrowhead 1-6x on a Henry 45-70? Asking both C_DOES and anyone else who cares to share their experience/opinion. Mainly for deer hunting (straight wall jurisdiction) but also potentially as bear defense (I LARP about being in bear country, hopefully will visit some day, and I hope to never shoot a bear). I already have the Arrowhead and I think that LPVO with a 1x makes a lot of sense even for whitetails in eastern woods. And for a Marlin-pattern 45-70 a compact, lower-mounted scope makes a lot of sense. Leupold even calls a version of this scope their "dangerous game scope", so people are definitely onto this. I've looked through the pig-flex and glass was very impressive, but the reticle lines seemed very thick to me. And I think pig-flex is meant for AR, so won't work that well for 45-70 or even 30-30. And I do like the option of illumination. I know there's a "firedot" version of these Leupolds, but it's quite pricy and it's just a cross-hair reticle, I think.

    Out of all the lvpos on the market, none fit my needs.
    That 1.5x needs to go away.
    A 1-6 would be ideal but theyre all stupid heavy or very long (11inches or greater)
    Wish trijicon (or any manufacturer)would make a 1-6 thats 10inches (or less) at most weight 16oz (lighter would be preferable.) At under 1000 dollars.

    What is the lightest combat LPVO with a illuminated reticle? I’ve been considering one for a while but honestly can’t get away from my T2s and EXPS3s with magnifier. Never jumped on the LPVO train but would be interested in one if I could find one with a true 1x

      I'd look at the Trijicon TR-24. It weighs 14.4 oz and uses fiber optics/tritium so it doesn't need batteries. I've heard the 1x performance is excellent; I think C_DOES has a video on it.
