      Dude, this timeline LITERALLY DRIVE ME MAD. Because of how little Scott answers about what is considered canon and what has been retconned or not, it's literally impossible to place EXACTLY when the FNaF 3 minigames where William dismantles the animatronics take place.
      Go ahead- TELL me when it takes place relative to the games or phone calls (in case you think the phone calls were recorded in different times than the games took place). Heck, even use the books if you want. For anything you can say, there is another part of the the games that can contradict it, all because Scott hasn't told us what is still canon anymore.

    -Michael is alive since the SCUPER is a remnant injector. He’s essentially possessing his own corpse
    -Henry sealed the secret back room after Afton died. This is why Springtrap didn’t do anything for 3 decades
    --Afton- Glitchtrap exists in Help Wanted as a virus due to Fazbear Entertainment scanning -Springtrap’s- old circuit boards to “help” with development

      @@zambiekiller360I always wondered, even before the mimic, why people think it was springtraps circuits that were scanned. Sure it’s what we thought would make sense at the time for glitchtrap to be afton but all the game ever says was “a bunch of old circuit boards to help exopodite the coding/pathfinding process”. We never learn where they came from, just that they were old and would help. Glitchtrap being changed to the mimic made a lot more sense retroactively to what tape girl says. We know the mimic is good at, well, mimicking and learning. So it being used for help makes more sense now that the scanning of afton did then.

    Tbh, I'm not a fan of this timeline construction Spiff watched, but I think he'd run into the problems I have with it no matter WHO he watched create it. The reason for this is that some events simply cannot be placed in the timeline without more information.
    For example: when do the FNaF 3 minigames where William dismantled the animatronics take place? One might assume it takes place around where the video suggested, which seems plausible by the fact that the location looks destroyed by age and weather, but... if this is the FNaF 1 location years after closure, the... why is William here? Why is he taking the animatronics apart? What does he even WANT with them? If you go by the books, one would be led to assume that William was taking their endoskeletons to melt into the Funtimes, which is FURTHER reinforced by FNaF 6's tombstone ending implying that the original 5 kids and Charlie were finally set free by the end, which would only be the case by this point if they were in the Funtimes (and therefore Molten Freddy). But, if this IS the case, then there's absolutely NO WAY the Funtimes were made BEFORE the FNaF 3 cutscenes. This means one thing by following basic logic of how quickly he could have possibly made the Funtimes:
    There was a LOT of time between the 4th minigame in FNaF 3 and the 5th. This is because he had to have time to take all the endos back, make the Funtimes, start using them a bit, then storing them underground for the equipment and rentals business, all BEFORE he got springtrapped. This also brings up the question of... WHY THE FUCK DID WILLIAM GO BACK AFTER HE ALREADY HAD ALL THE ENDOS? I guess he could have just been picking up the Spring Bonnie suit and leaving, but he could have just done that when he brought all the rest out. He obviously had a vehicle for transportation, he didn't just DRAG the giant metal endoskeletons back.
    Okay, but now there's another problem; Speingtrap was in a boarded up room. The only way that makes sense is if him getting springtrapped chronologically coincides with the sealing of the safe rooms as mentioned in the FNaF 3 tapes. But, if this is the case, then 1) the location couldn't have been closed for years by the time William got there, and was in fact VERY active still, and 2) if it's true that a lot of time had to be between William dismantling the others and getting springtrapped, then... WHY DID NOBODY QUESTION THE FACT THAT ALL OF THE ANIMATRONICS WERE DESTROYED?!?! Like, William would have had to destroy them, wait several months with the restaurant STILL RUNNING on the springlock suits alone, and then show back up days before the safe rooms were getting sealed to be springtrapped. This is all not even bringing up the issues with the fact that these tapes seem to happen LONG before the FNaF 1 location due to the springlock suits being discontinued around here.
    Okay, some of you may be saying "Okay, well maybe William was actually sealed in a different safe room at a different time?". Really? You're telling me that YEARS after the safe rooms were sealed and months to years after Freddy Fazbear's was closed, somebody went back to the restaurant with NO PURPOSE except to seal the safe room and leave? Nobody had any questions about the fact that they went to go to an abandoned building with dismantled animatronic shells all over and board up a single room and leave? And all for what? So the building could sit there Nother 30 years until FNaF 3? WHY?!?!? Why did they even seal the room? Was it already sealed to begin with and William tore it open to get in?
    Point is, none of this timeline makes sense because if we are to take what Scott said true; that is that there is only 1 retcon by FNaF 4, then SL introduced like FIVE MORE.

    • @strikerblitz2164
      @strikerblitz2164 Před 9 měsíci +30

      It's heavily theorized that Henry found William dying in the back room, and intentionally sealed the room with him in it, knowing that he was the man behind the slaughter. However the timeline still makes no sense.

      @JamieElli Před 9 měsíci +3

      Yeah, SL is almost impossible to place in any timeline. Especially the creation of the funtimes, but honestly the gameplay too.

    • @GameJam230
      @GameJam230 Před 9 měsíci +12

      @@JamieElli Actually, since writing that comment- I watched a video on a COMPLETELY UNRELATED SUBJECT by a super unheard-of FNaF creator and they pointed something out which I think may be the key to solving the placement of SL AND the creation of the Funtimes;
      The Scooper blueprints in FNaF 6.
      They include notes for a remnant injector being a part of the mechanism, which not JUST explains details like how Michael survived afterwards, but ALSO could explain how he has access to memories which MAY NOT EVEN BE HIS. This could explain details such as how he has memories of the Nightmare animatronics as seen in the log book, but WITHOUT requiring him to have been the person in the FNaF 4 nights, because Remnant is noted to have memory contained in it. But this isn't even the MOST important thing it clears up!
      It also means that each of the Funtimes and Baby- who were ALSO scooped to create Ennard- ALSO contain Remnant which was injected into them. This is an extremely important detail because it means that they MAY NOT have actually had Remnant in them PRIOR to this point like people assumed. Since people assumed they had this Remnant in them since creation because of the books, it complicated the placement of FNaF 3's minigames, but with THIS considered, it actually means the Funtimes could have been made YEARS before FNaF 3's minigames took place, and the endoskeletons were simply melted down each night. This ALSO still allows the FNaF 6 ending to make sense, freeing the original 5 kids' spirits (at least, not considering whatever the blob means in SB)
      As soon as I heard this I instantly jumped back a bit in my chair because it finally explains the issues with the timeline and even makes SENSE, because FNaF 6's whole PURPOSE was to answer misconceptions in the previous games, and this misconception caused some of the biggest issues in the entire series.

      @higueraft571 Před 9 měsíci +2

      >But, if this IS the case, then there's absolutely NO WAY the Funtimes were made BEFORE the FNaF 3 cutscenes.
      Actually simple explanation:
      They were built approx 1986~, following the Closure of FFP, and shelved when Elizabeth died, potentially being reused for the Rental Service later on.
      They *can* exist for any amount of time without being specifically possessed. He has several of his own lying around, why not use them?
      >The only way that makes sense is if him getting springtrapped chronologically coincides with the sealing of the safe rooms as mentioned in the FNaF 3 tapes.
      Yeah... THIS is one of the parts i'd retcon if i had the ability. It doesnt make sense however you look at it.
      William was sealed up after he died/disassembled the FNAF 1s.
      The Saferooms were sealed soon after the MCI, possibly in response to the MCI even.
      Assuming this were 1993-1994, then that's a solid 8-9 year gap in time, which doesnt work.
      >This is all not even bringing up the issues with the fact that these tapes seem to happen LONG before the FNaF 1 location due to the springlock suits being discontinued around here.
      Considering the MCI's been fairly decently placed around 1985, and the tapes mention the Spring Bonnie costume being used, following a sudden sealing of the Saferooms, yeah it's pretty likely they're 1985 tapes.
      >Was it already sealed to begin with and William tore it open to get in?
      Presumably, yeah.
      >because if we are to take what Scott said true; that is that there is only 1 retcon by FNaF 4, then SL introduced like FIVE MORE.
      Actually, if i remember right that's not what he said.
      It was more "One retcon nobody had noticed/had integrated seamlessly".
      Of course, it's still annoying he DIDNT say what it was...
      Now ONE thing i have massive beef with:
      The idea that the Bite of 83 was a Springlock Failure (it wasnt, there's no possible way it could have possibly been such)

      In help wanted William doesnt upload is concoiusness to the game but an old animatronic called the Mimic (who was built by some random guy since Edwin is not canon)was uploaded to the game bc its programmed to do what his name says:Mimic things he sees and ofc that can help speed up development of their game but he has seen what Afton did and cuz of its programming it wanted to go on a killing spree and ofc it needed to get out so HW happens -->He gets out -->He takes over the Pizzaplex and either the Burntrap ending happens or the PQ ending or both we dont know and Ruin also happens.And the Mimic was built most likely bc it can replace malfuctioning animatronic's bc it can mimic them and it can also fit itself into almost any suit.Also the Remenant thing is not really true bc it got agony(Essentially the edgy/negative version of remenant)when the guy who built him beat the ever living sh.. out of it when their son died in an accident.

      I'm curious, how did you solve the sister location problem ? You know, the paradox where William started designing killer robots before any child ever died. Because in FNaF 4 Elizabeth's room is already abandoned implying that she died already. If that's the case then that means child killing robots were designed before any child died so that William could go crazy/become obsessed with immortality. If we want to assume that he saw Charlie's soul possessing the puppet or missing children souls possessing the core 5, then what was his motive behind killing them ?

    • @AWeirdLisa
      @AWeirdLisa Před 9 měsíci +3

      @@MM-un5uf Excellent question, that's definitely rattled my brain many many times and honestly I don't think we'll ever be able to truly answer it if we cling onto motive too much (unless it's ever explicitely stated in the story). In my timeline I went with the assumption that Afton simply starts out with the awful intentions of abusing the kid-friendly franchise and robots to kill children, perhaps out of pure revenge from his past, perhaps out of psychopathic tendencies or something else. Maybe there is more to his life before the Freddy era that we just don't know about. The robots become an out-of-the-question thing when his own daughter falls prey to one and then he moves on to his other methods, discovering remnant in the meantime. Elizabeth is currently the first to die in my timeline, but that's been shifted around A LOT aswell. Sister Location related lore is the biggest point of timeline confusion along with the puppet for me, it only works if you're lenient with some story parts and sometimes completely ignore others unfortunately.

      Its basically rhe go to answer when there isn't a better one. Now some people say that William never was on the circuit board for help wanted. It was just the mimic program written by someone else that was used or scanned in. That mimic program was not intentional but started running regardless, and started learning and mimicking the events depicted by William afton. At this point William is stuck in purgatory indefinitely until the vengeful spirit leaves him to his demons.
      That is to say the burntrap in security breach is just a mimic recreation of afton. The robots post help wanted may not even be possessed. They may just be super advanced ai integrated with mimic or self learning programs that get their tendencies from mimicking behaviours they see, I am not even sure if the glam rocks are possessed or just corrupted from the mimic program, that is in turn just copying violence and evil it witnessed elsewhere. Just a weird game storyline. At some point, fnaf 1 to 6 have became questionable in where they fit in the lore, since they may just be indie games even in fnafs universe exaggerating real world events. So maybe there never was the supernatural but just highly advanced robotics and an indie devs interpretation of events in that world.

    Okay, so to give a bit more clarification on the whole Glitchtrap = William Afton or Glitchtrap = Mimic thing (warning: long):
    So all of FNAFs 1 through Pizza Sim happen essentially as the first video told. Then Steel Wool brought out Help Wanted, which featured Glitchtrap (who should've been called Malhare and I'll die on that hill), who was a seemingly reincarnated William Afton as a computer virus. This was generally accepted as being the case.
    In the meantime however, the books were coming out, telling us the story of Edwin. Edwin was an engineer of Fazbear Entertainment and he created a intelligent animatronic AI, the Mimic, to help entertain and take care of his child, David. The Mimic's whole thing is, unsurprisingly, to mimic human actions and it does so to great degrees. David dies in a car accident and Edwin doesn't take it that well. After the Mimic starts using gestures from the dead son, Edwin starts taking his frustration out on the Mimic, beating it. Afterwards, Edwin flees and Fazbear Entertainment comes in later to search Edwin's house, since it was property of theirs. They recover the Mimic and start using its AI, Mimic1, to create a new animatronic called the Storyteller to be placed in the Pizzaplex around 40 years later. However, before that happens and while the Pizzaplex is still in construction, the Mimic kills a few teens that snuck into the Pizzaplex. The Mimic causes the Glamrock animatronics to glitch and behave oddly (not murderous tho) from the giant tree it is placed in to help the Pizzaplex run. Edwin gets locked inside of the tree afterwards, due to a false accusation of being the cause of the glitches, and dies. The person who accused him later also gets locked in the tree, though this time seemingly by the Mimic itself. Then that tree gets removed and the Mimic goes... somewhere, never told (though we do generally know now with Ruin).
    Now this is where things get fucky and my problems come with the whole introduction of the Mimic in the games: nowhere is there any connection made from the Mimic to be Glitchtrap. It is possible that a variant of the Mimic1 AI (for simplicity, gonna call it Mimic2) exists, but that still raises the question of how the fuck it had ever observed everything that happened with/through William Afton and how the fuck it can apparently mind control actual humans? The theory is that Mimic1 is infected by Agony (very simplified: think Remnant, but infused with negative emotions of tragedies), which is fine, but that still doesn't explain how Mimic1 or Mimic2 would seemingly be able to mimic William since they weren't around for anything William did, since it wasn't functional after getting beaten by Edwin. It is also just generally cheap to say "the Mimic did it," since... yeah, that is possible, but it is almost as bad as the whole dream theory that MatPat made after FNAF 4 came out, since it is the laziest way of answering things and, in this case specifically, doesn't even fit with what we know of the timeline of FNAF.
    Ruin didn't help in this case, adding the Mimic and seemingly making a different ending than was originally planned (my speculation, which I'll get to later) canon with the Princess Quest ending taking center stage, completely abandoning the plot thread with Burntrap. Especially with the theories surrounding the Mimic still being able to speak like Gregory, despite the earlier faltering and what the game files say, during the chase and in the elevator in the betrayal ending.
    My speculation:
    Burntrap doesn't exist anymore. I think Steel Wool saw how divided the community kind of was on William being back for the 3rd time, while also immediately killing him off like 5-10 minutes later? Keep in mind that someone in Steel Wool has admitted to MatPat that they partially changed things around ahead of SB's release, because his theories were right and they wanted to keep things surprising. Anyway, Steel Wool instead brought in the Mimic for Ruin and shifted the canon ending from SB to not be the Burntrap ending (the only animated one) and instead have it be the Princess Quest ending, so that canonically Burntrap would've never gotten activated and such. I genuinely think this is the case, since the Mimic's model isn't even all that close to the Burntrap model (that endo is significantly different). "But what about Eclipse, Roxy, Monty, etc in Ruin?" Eclipse mostly just got the Faz wrench port added to his model in Ruin, Roxy's endo did get changed but probably more for detail than anything else (but who knows), Monty is similar just his shell is completely off at this point and then we have Freddy. Assuming we have to take SB at face value still somewhat, Prototype Freddy and regular Glamrock Freddy have to be one and the same. Why? Vanessa explicitly tells Freddy, while Gregory is hiding nearby, that they would temporarily shut off Freddy if the glitches continue and put Monty as the main star for shows to put his shell on a different endo, meaning his shell isn't readily available. Also, if they are the same Freddy, then there are two Freddies that got damaged in nearly the exact same way with a severed head...
    I do have to give credit that this wasn't entirely my own speculation and that NotRealName NotAtAll's video on Ruin's animatronics convinced me, mainly on that point that Steel Wool has seemingly changed something in the final draft of SB because of MatPat and/or other theories. I'm just tired, this fucking franchise takes a lot from me to understand lol

      Dark Remnant and Light Remnant make up a Soul.
      Each type of Remnant is made up of Components, while most are unknown, we know one of each type, and some of what they do...
      Love can heal wounds and create Illusions.
      Agony can bring things to life/acts as a sort of Glue/Conduit for the transfer of others, helping what would normally die pass into something else.
      Take, for example """"Charlie"""" from the books. Henry poured his Agony *and* Love into that Ella doll, until it created a "Whole Soul" what was similar to that of a Human, especially once given "Memories" to work off of.
      Both are the strongest of their types, although Agony wins out in sheer power of course.

    Connection terminated. I'm sorry to interrupt you, Spiff, if you still even remember that name, But I'm afraid you've been misinformed. You are not here to receive a gift, nor have you been called here by the individual you assume, although, you have indeed been called. You have all been called here, into a labyrinth of sounds and smells, misdirection and misfortune. A labyrinth with no exit, a maze with no prize. You don't even realize that you are trapped. Your lust for blood has driven you in endless circles, chasing the cries of children in some unseen chamber, always seeming so near, yet somehow out of reach, but you will never find them. None of you will. This is where your story ends. And to you, my brave volunteer, who somehow found this job listing not intended for you, although there was a way out planned for you, I have a feeling that's not what you want. I have a feeling that you are right where you want to be. I am remaining as well. I am nearby. This place will not be remembered, and the memory of everything that started this can finally begin to fade away. As the agony of every tragedy should. And to you monsters trapped in the corridors, be still and give up your spirits. They don't belong to you. For most of you, I believe there is peace and perhaps more waiting for you after the smoke clears. Although, for one of you, the darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole, so don't keep the devil waiting, old friend.

The intro is long, the video is long, it doesn't cover the bo.oks, and it doesn't cover the newer games like Security Breach and Ruin, but it's still very in-depth and super accurate while also just being funny. It not only describes the timeline, but also actively acknowledges where fans get confused and add their own ideas for the most part, so yeah .w. Don't know if you'd be willing to watch that ever, but it's out there.

The first 4 games (and posibly all the games b4 vr) have been put into there own self contained story, based of real life events

    From what I know, the most widely accepted reason that Michael is alive after being scooped is that, he wasn't harvested for Remnant, Ennard just used him to get out of the sister location, and be free, so Michael's soul/remnant, which has unfinished business with William, possessed his own corpse in a way, if that makes sense.

    Reminder that “psychotic” and “psychopath” are psychological terms that are being misused in OPs video, they shouldn’t be used to mean evil or bad because it stereotypes people with ASPD and Psychotic spectrum disorders like schizophrenia and contributes to stigmatisation, incarceration and abuse of people with those disorders.

    To explain possession a bit better. There's two ways. Remnant and Agony.
    Remnant is souls mixed with metal. Since William had been infused with metal when he die, he lives. Michael survives because his soul was combined with the metal of Ennard.
    Agony is the emotion. In the fazbear frights books it says any object around a extremely bad time like death mainly can carry agony from it. But to make it simpler, the kids wanting revenge gave them agony. So they posses the animatronics to have revenge but also because their bodies were put into the suits so Remnant was also made.
    Extra: if you made it this far, congrats. Here's a bit more info for you. Aftons memories were kept on a chip from scraptrap. VR team finds chip and uses the movements for path finding. Mimic sees it and becomes evil. That's how Glitchtrap made. So canonically, afton in ucn and he only came back twice.
    Bonus: if you somehow made it this far, you're crazy. But here's mimic explained for you. And quick note, this is what i know about it. And i only know main details. In the tales from pizzaplex books, it talks about mimic after all three stories. A father makes mimic ai to play with kid so father can do work alone. Kid dies and father shows negative emotions in front of the ai. Ai is used to help better the company of Fazbear Entertainment after they bought it from the father. Eventually at VR, ai finds Aftons memories and mimics the memories and makes glitchtrap. Maybe it makes glitchtrap look like a simple suit like at Disneyland and with a smile to make him look more friendly like as a kid sees the suit or because it doesn't fully know what the real suit looked like or a bit of both. Then Vanessa becomes Vanny and security breach happens with princess quest and ruin happens and that's end of mimic story. And to explain the ending with mimic in suit, in the stories from the books it says the mimic likes to wear suits and costumes.
    Congrats: good job. If you made it this far, you're either someone crazy enough to do it, someone who just wants to complain to me about "incorrect plot points" even though this is meant to be a simple explanation, or you're Spiff who's reading this somehow for whatever reason. Either way, congrats at making it all the way down. Your reward is you imagining Monty saying, "Fruit punch for everyone" and Fruit Punch Clown saying, "Hey! Little Guy!" in their own voices. Goodbye now!
