I bought it BECAUSE it reminded me so much of TFT but without all the pressure and the time management and having to deal with other people and all that stuff I like the PVE environment I like to work at my own pace maybe I want to wake up at 2:00 in the morning and finish a battle that I was thinking about all day long this game gives me the opportunity to do that and I'm very happy for that! Thank you for creating this game!

The guys who made this participated in a recent community StS modded character. It included some cards based on content creators. Rhaps' card has the bard art, and Reto's has some art from his TCG.

This unlock system is actually incredible. Sadly these games aren't really my style, but of them, this is indeed the most tempting to try. Love hearing the Rhaps VO.
Also, Reto, did you know Nimbus is a Ranged unit and you have them on the 'frontline'?

As the developer of Tales & Tactics, I'd still happily see anyone answer this with Last Flame. Hotloop has done some wonderful work and though there are many surface similarities, when it comes to moment to moment and depth, our two games still have significant differences and somewhat pursue different audiences. We all succeed when the genre succeeds!

@@table9studiogames I couldn't have said it better myself! The two games might look similar, but they play quite differently! Tales & Tactics is heavily inspired by the Auto-chess genre, while The Last Flame is a mix of Auto-battler and Drafting Roguelikes (E.g. Slay the Spire). Both games have their special flair and unique systems!
That being said, congrats on the release Table9! You've made an amazing game!

Have you played Stranded: Alien Dawn? It's a pretty fun small-scale colony builder (small group of like 3-8 pepole) "3D Rimworld", they call it. I can't remember where I heard of it could've been you anyway XD But if not you should check it out!

I applaud the effort to make a 'PvE' version of TFT but I think something gets lost in the translation. Playing against the rest of the lobby is a big part of an autobattler. There's also pros and cons to win/lose streaking early, deciding when to 'roll down', positional outplay, itemizing your units to counter other player's comps, etc. Another big reason to play TFT is that RIOT releases new seasons every 3-4 months which completely refresh the meta.... and it's free.
Again, I like the _idea_ of a PvE autobattler but to spend any amount for essentially a worse TFT that won't roll out updates at the pace that RIOT does is a non-starter. The unlock system in T&T gives you something to grind out for a few hours but I don't see it being terribly compelling long-term.
I've read quite a few comments/reviews from people who have anxiety from the PvP autobattlers and I think that's a shame. These are a type of game where personal experience matters and you have to be OK with not winning all the time--Those loses translate into lessons learned and one becomes better for it. For example, the 'time element' can be very imposing to a brand new player but once you have a few games under your belt, it's not much of an issue at all unless you simply cannot commit 30mins to a match without interruption (and even still, *autobattlers* still do the work for you when you're AFK).
I hope the devs can build on what they have here and flesh out something that people will play and talk about for years to come.

Did The Last Flame steal units from this game? Or did this game steal from The Last Flame? Bird Boy and Bug Arrow boy are the exact same models....
