Now this is comment of the year. Literally, I like the SHMAs more and will probably swap to put them on display soon. But when stacked up point by point, the NECAs do it a bit better.
@@BrendenCativo Yeah, I am expecting 2 Mothra repaints as well. One with bioluminescence, in all blue with a larva and a cocoon. Another with the combination with both neutral and bioluminescence at the same time, but with a white furry head, which is something all Mothra 2019 figures forgot to put on there, expect for the gashapon.
This was exactly my reasoning when making my purchases. I could either spend a mint on S.H. Monsterarts figures that may or may not have QC issues, and come with minimal accessories, or I could get figures that were slightly less posable, were objectively better looking, and came with more overall for about half as much. I'm glad I went with Neca. If the S.H. Rodan shows up individually for a fair price though, I'll totally pick it up.
Personally I think the Neca Mothra and the Sh Monsterarts Rodan would be the perfect pair. I just wished that the Neca Rodan was just an inch larger and Neca would win by a landslide.
NECA is not only better point for point, but also better overall. Do better Tamashii. Ah who am I kidding...they've been dicking us since 2014. I've been pretty much done with this line since Shin, and it takes a mighty convincing to get me to not scoff at one, let alone buy one.
The ONLY figure I liked after 2014 was the Sh Monsterarts Godzilla 2019 (+ Repaints) but that figure was ok at best, there were loose joints and sloppy paint

Yes, I recently got them today, AFTER SO MANY DELAYS!!!!! I was gonna point out that if you were to have the MonsterArts Mothra on the NECA stand, well you're out of luck cause her body is too big. Apparently NECA has bigger wings for Mothra, but the body is a HUGE COMPLETE OPPOSITE!!!!!!! But why that matters when I like both NECA and SHMA Mothras at the same time, which is sensible since Mothra is my number 1 favorite Kaiju in the MonsterVerse. I am planning to repaint the body to make it more accurate, cause in the movie, she's dark brown with a white furry head and a black mouth. While re buying NECA's into MonsterVerse Battra.

@@SapphiyY I can respect yours as well. The articulation to me isn't bad at all, the ab crunch is what everybody wants, because...STINGER!!! Surly it has soft plastic, but I got used to it with no problem. My NECA Mothra V1 broke a hinge for some terrible reason. For paint scheme, there is no screen accuracy on their wings, MonsterArts may have lost several spots, and NECA was only basing off of the Toho Mothra Wings. Yet I do prefer the translucent on NECA, but for accuracy, MonsterArts cause it's close (Jakks ripped off MonsterArts' wings and made it worse). The body is too debateable, NECA has more details yes, but MonsterArts' body has a bigger scale (the body for both NECA and MonsterArts is an opposite of the wings). But both don't have accurate paint. In the movie, she's a dark brown and both NECA and SHMA (and every Mothra 2019 figures) lack the white furry head. I do hope MonsterArts makes a Mothra 2.0 with a bigger scale, and should enter the Kou Kyo Kyoku line (with a bigger scale and lights with sound effects). That's what I hope for.
That'll be terrible. They'll be closer to where Playmates are, as the worst company to make Godzilla figures. MonsterArts and NECA make the best Godzilla figures.
I think if you're happy with Neca than that's cool and if your happy with SHMA than that's cool, too. It just boils down to personal preference and other factors of which figures to you look badass.
I probably would've given the point to Tamashii rather than NECA for Round 1, or left it at a tie. It's simple to see that of the two Mothra figures, the S.H.MonsterArts version has the superior wings. Many people say that they are not accurate to the film, but they are admittedly far closer than the NECA figure's. Of the two Rodan figures, the S.H. MonsterArts figure is superior in terms of sculpt accuracy, but lacking the volcanic aesthetic to the wings. In conclusion, it's a matter of preference, although I will say that NECA produces very nice quality figures for less than half the price of Bandai's.
Is there a option to vote for both? I like both NECA and SHMA ver. But consider we need to take one, NECA do deserve the win consider the value, look and accesories. Even so, SHMA will always be a winner ln my heart. Edit: Needed to edit this, but is there a way to plug the Tamashii arms on NECA stands? Even if I have them, don't know if I've tried. Since I live in Australia, each NECA figure is roughly $50. But I bought the bootleg SHMA rodan and mothra set for about $45. And the best part, they look and feel completely legit. If anyone is thinking about buying the bootleg SHMA figures, do it. It’s worth it

I like both companies but I buy shma of characters neca has not made. If neca ever made made spacegodzilla, destroyah, mechagodzilla or king ghidorah i would definately cop em in a heart beat. I do however love my shma of those above mentioned characters though. All of my godzilla suits are neca. Not one is shma, as well as my rodan and mothra. Before i even watched this video I always liked how necas rodan and mothra looked over shma. This great video simply justifies my purchase choice.
In my opinion SHMA has the edge because when I get a figure I want articulation and SHMA wins in that category and neca mothra has a lot of issues.neca mothra wings are very fragile and can Break at any moment but the sh monsterarts is delicate but not too delicate but that is just my opinion.

I'm just annoyed that when you talk about scuplt and paint, the pictures do not match your voice! And this video is no exception. I think you should put more care in editting video. I can't stand listening about Rodan's paintjob but seeing Mothra's details. I also found it more irritating with other godzilla videos. Just a reminder that editting lives matter!! Your clips are great, your set-up and all the stuff are awesome! But they almost mean nothing if they are put in the wrong time... I still love your work, anyway. It's great! Just improve it a bit. I do put care into it, and yes there may be a hiccup or two with something like a jumpcut missed. The reason why the first section runs like that is you're watching and listening to the video. That's enough to understand what's being said. Extra steps in the editing process aren't needed in an overall time-consuming project.

One neat thing about the NECA Rodan and the movie Poster Mothra (Maybe traditional color Mothra as well) is the wing's are very semi translucent if you shine a bright light on them. Rodan's wings really give off glowly lava like shine if a light is placed close, while Poster Mothra has that cool glowcap green glow with a light on the wings.
Main reason I'm buying the shma and not the neca is because shma is more durable and doesn't have spindly support stands and they have better sculpts and shma Rodan definitely has better paint while shma Mothra is a bit better than neca because I just think the brown and orange suits her
My SHMA Rodan came with only one eye painted. Mothra had one stuck hind leg, but I like the articulation more than NECA. I think I like both Mothras equally, just wish we could get a movie accurate version (with the right colors on the body, face, and mouth). I don’t have a NECA Rodan yet, but I plan on getting one ASAP. But in the future I want to stick with NECA, the Rodan and Mothra SHMA set wasn’t worth what I paid.

Neca knocked it out of the park with Mothra but objectively Bandai's Rodan is a tad better. Neca's scuplts are wonderful though which makes it confusing as to how their Godzilla isn't very good.
Rodan: SH MonsterArts FTW!!! Mothra: I kinda like the wings on the SH MonsterArts version a little better (because of the greater articulation), but the NECA captures the more subdued coloring of the body better (though I do like the orange color motif of the SH MonsterArts Mothra’s body, as it looks more unique compared to the arguably more accurate, yet duller body of the NECA figure), so it’s arguably somewhat of a tie with Mothra!
I pretty much collect NECA exclusively besides some Bandai. Decent figures. Much nicer packaging. They’re all 6” and personally I believe SH are overpriced.
Honestly, I was very torn on the two. Rodan's overall colour cheme is better with Monsterarts because even though the NECA Rodan has those fiery accents on his wings, his body is just too dark, almost black instead of the deep red that Rodan should be. I also like the sculpt of the Monsterarts Rodan better. The one thing I do have to give credit to with the NECA Rodan is the extra wing articulation, which I think is very neat. As for Mothra, I really can't decide. The Monsterarts Mothra's wings look much better and have more articulation, but the NECA Mothra has the better body. Luckily, I have found a solution. I will get the Monsterarts Rodan and Mothra, and THEN I'll get the POSTER COLOUR version of the NECA Mothra! Bet you didn't see that one coming! ;)

Yeah I still like sh monsterarts and neca but when I brought my neca Godzilla v2 the neck is jacked and my beam won’t just attach to mouth
For figures if they look good or adequate and have great articulation that’s what I get. Articulation is the most important to me
SHMA should have won because if the NECA's fall off a shelf about 3 feet the wing will break. And that's why i hate NECA.

Mothra: I kinda like the wings on the SH MonsterArts version a little better (because of the greater articulation), but the NECA captures the more subdued coloring of the body better (though I do like the orange color motif of the SH MonsterArts Mothra’s body, as it looks more unique compared to the arguably more accurate, yet duller body of the NECA figure), so it’s arguably somewhat of a tie with Mothra!

the neca mothra has better painting on the actual body but the wings not as good a s the sh monster art mothra
I always prefer neca and I certainly chose neca here.
Its like choosing raw meat over a good cooked meat just saying neca sucks
I pretty much collect NECA exclusively besides some Bandai. Decent figures. Much nicer packaging. They’re all 6” and personally I believe SH are overpriced.
If only bandai was cheaper
Honestly, I was very torn on the two.
Rodan's overall colour cheme is better with Monsterarts because even though the NECA Rodan has those fiery accents on his wings, his body is just too dark, almost black instead of the deep red that Rodan should be. I also like the sculpt of the Monsterarts Rodan better. The one thing I do have to give credit to with the NECA Rodan is the extra wing articulation, which I think is very neat.
As for Mothra, I really can't decide. The Monsterarts Mothra's wings look much better and have more articulation, but the NECA Mothra has the better body.
Luckily, I have found a solution.
I will get the Monsterarts Rodan and Mothra, and THEN I'll get the POSTER COLOUR version of the NECA Mothra! Bet you didn't see that one coming! ;)
