This concert was a last minute arrangement, just days before Angelina was performing with the military band for the promotion of her album It's Magic, I feels like she flew to London without having time to arrange her outfits, so she wore all the things he had at the previous concert, including the rehearsal outfit. From what I can see that was the only rehearsal, with just a sound check on the day (that was a funny video because Angelina wanted to sing the whole thing!). Quincy made a fuss of her, at the final bows it was Angelina and the conductor that were arm in arm with him. Funny thing is that Q noticed she was bare foot, was very concerned for her! Such incredible experiences for this young lady!

Long before Quincy Jones was a record and video producer, he was a monster jazz trumpet player and arranger in the 1950s. He wrote the original arrangement of "Fly Me To The Moon" in 1965 for Frank Sinatra and The Count Basie Orchestra. Later he orchestrated strings into the arrangement, which became the signature version Sinatra sang throughout the rest of his career and which is the one Angelina sang to at Quincy's 85th birthday concert. In 1974, Quincy had a life-threatening brain aneurysm and he had to stop playing trumpet. By that time, though, he was a world-class arranger, which led him to his amazing career as a producer. Angelina only works with the best, and Quincy is definitely that!

She knows, how good she is. So she wants to sing, to make people feel and make them happy. She is a humble person, and here even not yet a teen. And when she stops singing, one can see that. How to behave in a world of grownups around her? I suppose, humbleness, respect, love, hope and desire are terms, which are important for her. Crazy, the effect, when she starts singing. Some other identity, kind of universal, takes over, which makes her musical message sound so mature...

You mention that Quincy Jones produced Michael Jackson and others, but he goes way back further than that. Quincy also was Frank Sinatra's music director, and arranged & produced some of his highest selling albums back in the late fifties and early sixties. Back then Quincy and Frank Sinatra had a very successful partnership because Frank was at the top of the game in recording and record sales. On a historical note Quincy Jones was the 1st black man to maintain that position with the top white pop star of the day. Keep on doing what you're doing young brother, I love it.

@@ThatSingerReactions If you are waiting for Angelina to get nervous it will be a long wait. She doesn't do nervous. Never has, never will. As far as her singing posture she has had to get comfortable being 6'1" tall which I think is a tougher ask. Angelina and her 'Twin' Daneliya both have musical instincts that are uncanny. Angelina does things by instinct that a lot of singers will never understand.
Another thing is few people know how much waiting around is done. I saw this same scene filmed by someone else and she did a lot of waiting around.
I'm sorry I'm having a not so good day. My brain is fighting me for my focus. I've had problems maintaining focus my whole life and right now this little effort has taken me almost an hour to get here. I am not sure what I was answering. This is the arrangement Quincy did for Frank Sinatra and Angelina adopted it. Angelina is always ready. Her now producer and piano player who worked with big stars like Beyonce' said in all his years working with artist the were only two that came ready to do any or all their song in one take. He said Beyonce' and someone else. Then he said, "now there are three", meaning Angelina. The same thing or similar things were said about Daneliya. Her guitar player said she comes in and can be laughing and joking but she will be the first to start going is everybody ready to go.
In that array of pictures you see where Angelina and Quincy meet for the first time and immediately ask her if she could sing something for him. Also one of those live shots of her singing at The O2 Arena the sound was swapped for a better combination of visuals and sound. It was either Rusty Shackleford or Boris ? that enhanced what they could. In case you didn't know Quincey has called Angelina the best young vocalist since Michael. I loved it when she got to the last bit and let the Big Dog run it out. I think most people do not realize what kind of pipes she has.

I've seen and read that there's a nice backstory here. This is Quincy's arrangement, and he asked Angelina to perform it. A backstage video has Angelina and Quincy chatting, and Quincy saying the she is the best since Michael Jackson. Considering Quincy's involvement with MJ's music, I take this as fact. I was born in 1946, so I grew up listening to big bands and the amazing singers in them. Angelina captures the lush tones intrinsic to that genre. To me, her "Cry Me to The Moon" concert performance (2017) and her "Summertime" NRK orchestra performance equally show this aspect of her vocal acumen.

Actually both have the same audio, because they replaced the actual rehearsal performance, but you can still get the actual rehearsal performance only the quality isn’t as good. You may not realize it, but this is the arrangement Q made for Frank Sinatra, a more jazzy version was done by Angelina after this performance for her own concert.
Actually you should try to find the rehearsal performance, because it was good, but Angelina is on another level live!
Everyone tried to get Angelina, even Disney, but her family would not allow it, that’s why the AGT Champions was so controversial, because they tried to get her for the first season and the answer was no, and they had to have some serious negotiations to get her on the second season, but they made it clear that Angelina would not be signing with SICO and Simon Cowell, and that has been suggested as the reason she didn’t win.

Thanks for another wonderful reaction,Nick. On this occasion Angelina is definitely showing even more maturity in management and tone and is adapting wonderfully to the lighter and faster reading of the song that Quincy Jones has given, what a great interpreter she is becoming, it's impossible not to fall in love with this girl, so shy when she speaks and so self-confident when singing, regardless of age. 🤗 This is a great song that Angelina, in hers different versions and in different years, always performs in a wonderful way, with a lot of emotion and empathy. 💛 🧡 ❤️
Another registration is in the Mosarz channel of Angelina's family with the video recorded by mom Sara is even longer, with the preparation of the test and at the beginning you can see Angelina, uncle Micheal and grandmother Mery.

Regarding Angelina’s confident/shy vibe. In normal conversation, she is shy and unsure (but is becoming less so) like many teenagers. Especially, teenage girls. Her normal speaking voice is nasal. She just seems a bit uncomfortable with herself, for lack of a better description.
When she is singing, however, she transforms. Her voice changes a from nasal girl, to a clear adult. She then exudes supreme confidence. Emotional maturity. She takes control of a musical performance, and has done so since before she turned 10.

The second track you played was the official recording from the live concert. The first video was footage that her Grandmother shot of the rehearsal, but the audio is the track rom the live performance. One of her superfans synced the two; the original sound for the rehearsal had all of the room noise you would expect in a setting like that.

Nice reaction on a definite high point in Angelina's early career. You have said a few times you will continue to speak of Angelina's age because of how much vocal prowess/skill she demonstrates at whatever age she is. As far as that goes it is true, but your calculus fails because it ignores her confidence/stage presence, her artistry/musicality to make the choices she makes (all before having the vocal skill to deliver them), her emotional communication, and her versatility. I challenge you to identify another artist of whatever age that can challenge what Angelina has (and continues to) accomplish in all 5 areas. I think you will be lacking in your search. You yourself admit as much when you say below she is a mini Frank Sinatra. She is also a mini Adele, a mini Amy Winehouse, a mini Billie Holiday... and on and on. My point is there is no one, regardless of age, past or present, that demonstrates such.

The sound for both of the videos is from the actual concert.
Angelina's phrasing is just insane. I don't mean just for someone her age. In my non-expert opinion. Angelina's phrasing is up there with the best singers who ever lived.
About how crap singing tops the charts today, the very influential yt poster Rick Beato talks a whole lot about how the music industry has gone wrong. In this video he says that rock died because it lost touch with its roots in the blues, and he also describes a lot of other things that went wrong czcams.com/video/T0ycwnJArHQ/video.html

Indeed band and her singing could be easily put on an album as a finished product. Unfortunately the real performance is not as readily available with visuals. It is also very nice to see the development in this song from 8 to 10 to 12 (she is 12 here I think). It is such a delight to listen to this performance: it’s a like a fresh bit of air just when you need it.
Quincy called her the biggest talent since Michael Jackson and his opinion has some weight behind it, just a bit :-)
It is nice to link to the original post and Angelina’s CZcams channel in your description as nice nod to them and also for the crowd here to listen to it uninterrupted and other performances of Angelina: czcams.com/video/OMkwoqUNNkE/video.html and czcams.com/users/AngelinaJordanOfficial
