Are you planning on reacting to the Mojo list as well? It's definitely more rootsy than the ones you checked looked at so far. And it has more overlaps with my list than the others, although leaving out Hackney Diamonds is a huge mistake.

Definitely check out that Lonnie Holley, his life story is just incredible. Love everything he’s ever released. The new Red Velvet album Chill Kill was a late-year surprise, and 5 stars for me. Girl group choruses and key changes that would perk Joe up from the malaise of 2023. The new HEALTH album RAT WARS is good for a loud and heavy listen. Spanish Love Songs: No Joy wasn’t as well received as Brave Faces Everyone but should be a must-listen for any fan of actual rock. Also enjoyed Quaranta by Danny Brown, KEN Mode: Void, and the IVE album was cool to see on NME’s list. At the very least the ones I mentioned bring something to the table other than all these sadcore albums and post-glitch hyper-wave trap experiments that leave me running for the antacids.

How many people r honestly gonna b rushing home 2 put on some of these "Ambient" albums...this list is obviously 2 cool 2 consider PJ Harvey, The National or The Clientele ( just for example) but the longevity of these artists speaks for itself...

I was introduced to ANOHNI (Antony and the Johnsons) through Rufus Wainwright’s “Old Whore’s Diet” on his impeccable album Want Two. Her albums I Am A Bird Now and The Crying Light relaxed and comforted me in the mid to late 2000s.
I can see how her voice could be an acquired taste, but this is a rare artist in emotional depth and transmutation of darkness into light. Superb lyricism and heartfelt emotion. Gentle chamber pop fit for an intimate dinner party, a soak in the tub, or a quiet evening by the fire. Check out her cover of “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” - sparse & fascinating.
Hercules & Love Affair featured Anohni on my favorite song of 2008 “Blind” and on their 2022 album In Amber with “One” as the standout single.
2023’s My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross is an empowering tour de force, and a significant later career accomplishment.
So happy to see it recognized.

Maybe because they generally ignore soul but I have seen no mention on any of these lists of Jalen Ngonda's superb Come Over And Love Me. It's a beautiful soulful record with influences from What's Going On era Marvin. Brilliantly produced as usual from Daptone Records who just capture the old school soul sound.

Ожидал увидеть в итоговых хотя бы Harvest от Poison Ruin. Альбом вроде у них фигурировал с высоким баллом.
