I called electrician to repair my fan in order to reduce the fan noise. He said that we need to change shaft and bearings and told me that it will cost 850 rs plus labour cost 250 rs. I gave him full money. Later I checked in Google and got to know that shaft cost is just around 20-30 rs and bearing cost is just 20-30 rs.. I got cheated. This made me to learn that before calling the specialist we should learn the parts name and parts price so that we can upfront judge whether is over pricing or not..
Total u paid Rs.1100/- tat cost u can buy local fan with 1yr or 2yrs replacement warranty... Check with your nearby local electrical shop..

We are paying 100-150rs for a single tubeless Tyre puncher which cost 300 for the whole kit (can use it for 10 punchers)

கற்ற வித்தையை வைத்து ஒருவன் மற்றவர்களை ஏமாற்றுகிறான் என்றால் அவன் நிச்சயம் அந்த தொழிலாலே அழிவான். அதனால் தான் நான் கற்ற வித்தையை சாதாரண மக்களுக்கு கூட புரியும்படி விழிப்புணர்வு ( மெக்கானிக்கல் ) வீடியோக்களை youtube ல் பதிவிட்டு வருகிறேன்.
The same happened when my bike stopped at Highway, but I called my friend and he said due to oil it may have stopped. Then I checked for the oil and spark plug, The spark plug is fine, then I did an oil check near the BP petrol bunk. The oil was very thin like water, then came to know the oil is in the worst conidition. But the main thing, I drove my bike up to 800km after my last service.
Then I changed oil (Honda oil for Honda unicorn) at a petrol bunk and the same day I travelled 400km.
After the oil change at the petrol bunk change I drove around 2k kms, still running. Please get the oils for vehicles from genuine shop and put it on your own. Service centers are getting comission from that and it is not satisfy able.
Please know the basic things on bikes/cars if it stops in between major problems you may not know, but minor problems you can clear.

Similar scenario happened to me, bike not started, reached mechanic shop with bike by walk, mechanic was in full drunken condition (didn't noticed initial time itself), one more person bike issue trying to solve, that person bike disassembled some parts and told to him that, not possible to fix today, need one to two days, that person (customer) shouting him (that customer residing near mechanic shop), mechanic didn't bother, that customer couldn't take bike back due to disassembled condition.
My bike spark plug *cap removed and fixed and asked me to start, bike didn't started, and told me that, need two days time to fix, wants to take some shop to fix, I told him that, no I need to fix now else I will go next shop, then he is trying to disassemble some parts with spanner and try to get two days time, noticed that he is not in control since couldn't hold spanner properly, I told him that, please stop, I don't want to repair now, want to take bike back. He just removed spark plug cap for that he wants Rs 500. I got shocked and asked him that, to unplug cap do you want Rs 500. He is adament to get money, Somehow managed and come back to home.
While leaving he shouting me like full drunken person and trying to threaten me.
Next Mechanic shop went, mechanic asked me to leave bike come after one hour, he told me that, he spent quality of time to clean some parts, some minor parts changed , mechanic asked me to check bike, now bike is working fine and mechanic asked me to give Rs 100.
Good people are available but difficult to find.

சரியான சீரான இடைவெளியில் பராமரிப்பு மிக முக்கியம். எத்தனை நெருக்கடியான பணிச்சூழலிலும், நம்மில் ஒன்று எனக்கருதி பேணிக்காட்கும் பட்சத்தில் இதுபோன்ற வீண்விரயம் தவிர்க்கப்படும்!!

Yes I too have experience like this. Last week my frnd came in his pulser bike, after work he put key but even display didnt get switch on, horn not working, self not working. Without saying to me he went near by mech shop by walk and said like this, that mech came and checked and said wiring complaint need to check and replace wiring and went, he asked to bring bike to his shop.
That is the point where he called me and said please come we have to tow the bike till that mech shop.
That's where I came and checked his bike, I put key switched on but nothing working. Then I asked him did you check the fuse, but he said fuse ah where it will be.
He doesn't know even fuse in the vehicle. Then I opened seat using his key and checked fuse and it was busted. And there is additional new fuse inside that fuse box itself given by the bike company. Just I took the new and inserted , that's all everything started working.
Then only he realized that he doesn't know basic of bike so only mechanic tried to cheat him .

I had the same experience in Kallakurichi near government boys school and the one person called Manikandan who had mechanical shop near temple who cheated nearly 8000. But one near government district hospital he is good just charge nearly 100 but checks well.

Enakum ipdi ayuruku.. once i bought bullet for 50k in second hand.. while selling it, seller guy just kicked it and bike turned on. We came home. Next day,when i started,it didn't turned on. Then only nearby mechanic said, bike is full of issues and will require 25k+ to make it ready with self start etc. Later i sold it for 10k.

I also facing this problem (I have a pulsar 180 without kicker model) medavakkam traffic I off engine. Again start but bike not started. I giving to the near by mechanic shop. Mechanic said self motor problem R.s 1500. Suddenly I not a money.
After 10minutes I call to my regular mechanic and follow the instructions in 5 minutes only. and I back to the home. Finally I Spain to rs 348 only with labor charge my regular mechanic.
We are facing this kind of cheating from most of the people in Tamilnadu. Generally, people want to work less and earn more or grab more from others. I faced this kind of problem many times in Chennai
New vehicles also same issue doing by Bike showroom Services.

i was upset for three days then learned myself to repair my bike.

I faced the same issue, due to covid my haven't started my bike almost 6 months. When I took the mechanic shop he told me, we have to clean all parts and petrol tank. It costs 2.5k. But I had doubt so I took to mechanic shop. He just cleaned the plug and bike started. Only 50rs
