TOOLS & MATERIALS USED
✂ cardstock (160gsm for example)
✂ clips
✂ envelope punchboard (or print the template)
✂ coin or corner rounder (coin is even handier)
✂ sturdy ruler
✂ heavy duty craft knife
✂ pencil
✂ ink + ink blender
✂ acetate sheets
✂ art glitter glue (or glossy accents, or other glue for acetate) or double sided tape
✂ bone folder
✂ cutting mat
✂ craft cardstock (65 lb - 160-175 gsm)
✂ scissors
✂ wet glue (like tacky glue) or double sided tape
✂ medium weight chipboard (1, 1.5 or 2 mm thick)
✂ fabric (for example muslin)
✂ stamps for embellishment (optional)
✂ sewing machine (optional)
✂ acrylic paint/paint pen or ink
✂ crop-a-dile (or other heavy duty hole making and eyelet setting tool, for example for leather belts)
✂ 6 eyelets
✂ twine (1/16 inch - 1 mm thick) & suitable needle

✂ thread and needle (upholstery thread, embroidery thread,...)

I finally made the journal and it turned out great due to the excellent instructions. So I’m officially using my sewing machine after 30 years of dormancy for journal making and I’m very happy about this! It’s the first time I’ve sewn on paper, so much fun!

As a and to journal making I'm totally obsessed and this type of video is so much help to me. I have yet to make a binded journal but I think with this video I will give it a try. This is a beautiful kit and it is a must have. I have made a number of purchases with Vectoria Design and have never been disappointed with anything I have purchased. I usually do not purchase kit in this price range but I can see how much use I can get from it. So this will be a spurge. Thank you for these videos they are so helpful. I absolutely loved the tutorial. You are so talented and you're a wonderful teacher. Tinne thank you so much for offering this beautiful journal with such a fabulous discount. I am so new to making journals and wondered if you could tell me if the pages themselves are printed on cardstock or just regular paper? I know the covers are chipboard and the binding is cardstock but not sure about the beautiful pages inside. Could you please let me know - I'm very anxious to start on this.... a bit nervous too. Wish me luck.
Myself I usually print my journal pages on regular paper (or a bit heavier), but I think Alexandra printed her journal pages on light cardstock (like 120-160gsm paper)
I love this and can't wait to make it! I just wish the video said which papers are printed on regular 20lb copy paper and which ones need to be on heavier cardstock. I had to guess.
ALSO - how does the sewing machine handle chipboard? What needle size to use?

Gorgeous kit, it's in my "to make" queue. I'm fairly new at journaling and recently bought a sewing machine, just not sure how to use it. My question about the cover and sewing involved, are you sewing through fabric, paper and cardboard/chipboard? If so, could you please share what size sewing machine needles, thread weight etc. Is there a tutorial out there that shows a fabric cover sewn along with chipboard? FYI I'm planning to combine this kit with some of the VectoriaDesigns "Pink Paris" and specialty papers. I think with all that this kit includes, your introductory price is very reasonable.

Alexandra is indeed sewing through everything: fabric, paper, chipboard.
She uses quiling thread and a needle for jeans and other thick materials but unfortunately, there's no tutorial that shows this more in detail.
Did you use medium weight chipboard for both journals? Is that what should be used for hardcover journals is a question I've had for quite some time. These journals are amazing. How long did it take to make both journals, individually?

Yes, Alexandra uses medium chipboard. Chipboard that's 1, 1,5 or 2mm thick is perfect for making journals.
Unfortunately we do not know how long it take Alexandra to do this.

I've watched the tutorial twice and crafted with the third time. I started with several envelope shapes, so far so good.
I don't have an expensive gadget for making envelopes but I have made many by hand. Although individually they look great, when I put my envelopes together.........not so great. 😔

wow!!!!!!!! it's a beautiful kit and I'm really tempted. However it is, at this moment, a bit expensive for my pocket. Maybe later. Today I purchased the Frosty Flora mini project and I'm now working on it. It's a lot easier/affordable to buy mini projects, as I have done so far :) @@vectoriadesigns
I think the kit is beautiful and this video is fantastic but as a beginner, all of these videos I see when a new kit has been released are far too hard for beginners. Please please bear in mind that not everyone who buys your kits will be an experienced crafter!!!
There are so many videos here on Vectoria Designs channel for crafters of any levels, from beginners to advanced. Hopefully you will find something that you can easily follow. Crafting is definitely not about being stressed by complex projects 🙈🙈
