I've seen books made into handbags before but never a junk journal handbag. They came out so cute. I love the one with all the lace. Next one you make, find a way to attach a pen to it. Then it's all in one. Thank you for sharing!
Nifty little idea. Just a suggestion; one might want to add a hidden zipper pocket for cell phone tuck on the inside cover (cell phone cases already have your debit/cc). So if you grab a coffee, one is all set. Job well done Natasha!🌸🥤

I just had an idea!!!! This, but make the inside able to hold my embroidery things for on the go! Do pockets, bands, maybe sew in fabric with pockets made for storing threads, etc....ohmagosh I'm excited!

Love all your videos. I have been making some paper beads while watching movies. I look forward to making a purse out of a book and a junk journal purse as well. What I would do differently is I would add my signatures 1st to the cardboard reinforced spine 1st and then glue that to the original spine, that way the thread doesn't show through the books original spine since the original spine is so lovely in gold. Hope you understand my explanation, otherwise, this tutorial is amazing as always. I'm obsessed with your videos. As I've mentioned, I watch them all the time, and even when I need a nap, they help me sleep. Your voice is soothing. My daughter looks at me when I say, "I'm obsessed and she say " I know mom", 😂😂.

When you placed the finishing corners embellishments it took the journal to a whole other level… such a small detail that makes a HUGE difference
These journals have a nostalgic look to them, sort of like the vintage Louis Vuitton travel trunks … speaking of which… have you ever thought of buying a cheap replica LV bag just to use the fabric to make a mini trunk

Great idea and a better way to recycle unwanted books. This project looks like a chic traveler’s journal. Take this to a coffee shop or park and draw, collage and write your thoughts down. Can’t wait to make one. Thanks for sharing.

I was thinking if you had an old necklace from your grandmother to use for the handle; a grannie junk journal would be cute. Lots of old fashioned lace & gingham checks on the pages. Old flowers like lilacs, forget-me-nots, four o'clocks. Photos of her, & her home etc. Maybe a photo of you at her home. Maybe scraps from an old tea-towel, old post cards. Maybe a couple of her hand written recipes or poems. It could sit prettily on a shelf and be a nice contained space for all your small grannie memorabilia. I think I'd like this myself but I don't have a necklace. Maybe another elderly relative will have one to give me. Thanks for the idea and instructions.

If you put some glue on the end of the ribbon and let it dry it will stiffen enough to poke through the beads easily. I do that when i crochet with beads, on the yarn or cord.
