    I did everything the same as in the video and after 2 months it broke down, the problem it caused me was that it lost power and it came on during the check engine and it kicks hard in reverse, I took it to scan and it gave me the speed sensor (P0717) and stuck cellenoid valve (P0796)
    The question is, what could it be?

    I Imported a HONDA FIT 2020 EHEV HYBRID with a milage of 76,000 km from Japan.
    I wanted to change the Gear Oil fluid, but am confused about multiple things;
    - Which gear oil to use? HCF2 OR ATF DW1
    - Are there any filters inside its gear which need to be cleaned or replaced by opening the chamber , or is its just drain and Refill?
    - Beside Engine oil, gear oil, brake oil, coolant, is there any other fluid/oil which need to be replaced after specific millage?

    @mrbriceno3949 Před rokem

    This might sounds dumb but How necessary is it to drop the tranny pan and to change the filter and clean those magnets?? I was thinking of just doing the trans oil change and changing the filter that’s under the air box

    • @v.r.autorepair242
      @v.r.autorepair242  Před rokem +2

      Well yes that's a normal change you will be doing but when you clean the magnet and replace the filter you prevent the top filter from clogging up faster. However nothing is wrong with your method. I suggest you do the bottom one every 100000km because it will help you get more miles out your Transmission. I'm actually at 200000km atm but saw many people Transmission broke at 120000km to 150000km and they did there oil change but no filters. So you can have a better idea why it's good to do the bigger one once in a while

      @@v.r.autorepair242 thank you for the wisdom! My 2018 white sport hatchback is approaching 50k not sure when the last owner changed the oil but I’m going to do the top filter below the engine air filter and an oil change and for the next oil change I’ll be sure to drop the pan clean the magnets and replace the filter that’s inside the trans. What do you think about using amsoil instead of genuine Honda hcf 2?

    • @v.r.autorepair242
      @v.r.autorepair242  Před rokem +2

      @@mrbriceno3949 I will only recommend Honda transmission oil because it was made especially for there transmission and not multi vehicle! Ams oil is good I will use there engine oil because it has zinc in it which has a effect on the engine parts like ice move on ice.

  • @jesuslua8120
    @jesuslua8120 Před rokem

    My 2020 CVT transmission seems to be high revving on downhills and very loud do you think switching the filters and transmission oil will make a difference?

    • @v.r.autorepair242
      @v.r.autorepair242  Před rokem

      Yes it will . Replace filter and clean the magnet and replace oil. Problem will be slove as long as you don't see any big pieces of metal in the pan

    • @pizzaloverfpsdude
      @pizzaloverfpsdude Před rokem +4

      That's because you are going down hill... that's normal for the engine to rev high to compensate slowing you down. That's not good for the transmission in a CVT, with a manual trans it can take the torque better and preferred to save on brake pad life. To solve this, use your brakes to slow you down and watch how your rpm rev down to 2k again. Yes downhill driving using brakes will cause brakes to wear down faster but that's cheaper to replace brakes then a CVT transmission! Changing the trans filters is a waste of money for the most part, they don't actually filter small particles like your oil filter does. Both are there to keep large metalic particles from passing thru, which don't clog the filter unless you have a major transmission issue to begin with. That's why the manufacturers don't recommend changing them unless transmission being rebuilt, or repaired at that point that failure could have caused filters to clog... again filters are there for IF THE TRANSMISSION WERE TO HAVE ISSUES... if you are replacing the trans fluid every 30k-50k you shouldn't ever have to swap the filters. It doesn't do harm to swap them but again it's basically a waste of money.

      If you do not remove the oil pan and you drain from the overflow bolt, you only need 3 1/2 quarts.
      If you remove the oil pan you will need 4 1/2 quarts for refilling.

      If cleaning the CVT warmer strainer, just soak it in new HCF2 fluid thoroughly.
      If it is clog or damaged replace it.

    Is recommended to use only Honda HCF-2 CVT oil type or can use Castrol TRANSMAX ATF/CVT (HCF-2 standard) to do the job?

    • @v.r.autorepair242

      Would not recommend Castrol oil on honda transmission. Also honda has designed there oil for there transmission and not a multi vehicle oil. You will get less mileage using M.V . Oil which in long-term will Break the belt.

    Great informative video! Does using an Automatic transmission oil in my Honda BRV Automatic CVT cause damage? My mechanic suggested using the high quality Shell S1 ATF TASA , which is automotive transmission, power steering and hydraulic oil mainly used for heavy-duty vehicles. It was changed 3-4 yrs ago and have had no problem with my BRV , in fact excellent faultless performance. But now it turns out that I should have used the Honda recommended Idemitsu CVTF Type H2, which is specifically formulated for CVT in all Honda vehicles . NOW my warranty is NULL and VOID. Want to know if ATF oil indeed damages a CVT transmission ??

    • @v.r.autorepair242
      @v.r.autorepair242  Před rokem +1

      Good day yes it will longterm. Now if you can change the oil to its original HCF-2 and replace it every 10000km about 2 times it will help get most of the mixed oil out. So in the future stick to genuine honda oil HCF-2 and change filters and you good to go again
