- Since I began repurposing my old pen parts, I've wanted to use the empty pen barrels for this. Now I'm finally getting to play with them! This has a very stunning look, and I know you'll love it!

In a million years I would not have thought of using a disassembled pen! Brilliant and so inventive!
thanks a bunch!
Aloha from Hawaii 🌺 What an amazing idea, Lolly! It's simply magical how you repurposed an empty pen. I would normally throw them away, but not anymore. I'm a gel pen hoarder, and when I don't use them, they tend to not work, and then I just toss them. I love making junk journals, so this idea will elevate the look of my journals. How fun! Thank you sooo much for sharing ❤🌺🏝
Thank you so much! Have fun :)
Very clever!! Love how you use ALL that you have and not waste a thing!! Will have to give it a try!! TFS!! 🥰
Great! Love hearing that. Hope you have fun :)

Holy Moley, what a clever upcycling idea. I only wish I would have seen this a week ago. I went through all my pens and disassembled the duds. I put everything in the recycling bin. Well almost everything. I’ve got a huge bag of springs. Any ideas for them?? I just love the way these turned out. You have my mind racing with ideas. I can see beads being used inside the cartridge too. Wondering if the size 6 seed beads will fit over it. I’m going to have to try it and see. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas. I’m off to watch the charm video now too. Cheers from FL😺
Many thanks! I used the springs one time on a zombie doll I crocheted. It was kind of cute! You've got an interesting recycling company. Our county, which used to accept most plastics (as long as the recycle symbol was on it) said there's no longer a use for most plastics. They only accept jugs (like laundry detergent), tubs (like sour cream containers), and bottles (like water bottles).
@@LollyPalooza A crocheted zombie doll sounds pretty cool. I crochet too. I’ve been using old t-shirts and even plastic bags(plarn) to make mostly bags. The plarn has the same feel and depending on the color, looks like raffia. I’m pretty happy @the recycling abilities here, except they stopped taking glass. You can bring glass wine bottles to the transfer station, but that’s it. No jars. To me that’s so silly as glass is one of the easiest things to recycle. BTW, I tried and the 6/0 aka e-beads are too small for the ink cartridge😢 But I’m still going to see if I can find some beads that will work. The pandora style ones would work as caps on either end of the barrel. Could be cute. Have you tried using alcohol or acetone to remove the writing off the barrels? Just curious if it works. Alcohol removes the writing on the plastic bags. I’ve been wanting to do more upcycling with just the materials I have at hand. I am contemplating using the vhs video tapes as yarn. They say they are coated and have harmful materials, but if I were to wear gloves & a respirator or perhaps wash it off🤷🏼♀️ Still in the thinking about it stage. Hope you’re having a great day. Cheers from FL😺
@@ravenlunatic1177 great ideas. I think the springs would be great around fibers in a dangle!
TFS very cute.
Thanks for watching
hey cool idea!! I wonder if you could thread some crotchet thread thru then add small seed beads and then glue ends closed. What do you think?
definitely! So many possibilities
