- How I went from someone who absolutely despised running to someone that runs marathons. In this video I introduce my new series called "Building to Two Fifty" where I will document my training for the Eugene Marathon on April 28th.

Why do you love running?
Great community and gives me a purpose
It makes me feel great for the rest of the day
I always feel so much better after a run… plus the nap after hits every time😂
It gives me time to think
My grandpa passed in may (he was my best friend) I started running in August to kinda clear my head and just haven’t stopped. Always a good way to breakdown my upcoming week and to cope with life.
‘The more I ran the better my life became’ yes, this is exactly it, so grateful for all the gifts that just consistently running has brought into my life❤
Agreed, that is exactly what it does for me as well.
Well said does the exact same thing for me !!
Great attitude
How the heck does that work?
I’m a very competitive person, I run to compete against myself! Give me a sense of purpose, to always be better than my previous self, to set and beat a goal! It fuels my inner competition with myself.
"The world is noisy, but when I run it's silent" captures what I love about running so well.. Thank you for this video, I was able to recognize so many things that I love about running and that make me go the extra miles and put in all the work with a lot of pleasure.. Good luck chasing your new goal!
You genuinely inspired me to start running and not to sound dramatic but it has completely changed my life. It has done wonders for my mental health. I was always a terrible runner but just as you said, running is my time to think and it pushes me to be consistent and disciplined in a good way. Thank you for sharing your videos with us!! Learned so many tips from you too!!
I started running and didn't tell anyone, I wanted it to truly be me vs me because that is the hardest challenge to overcome- no one giving you advice, keeping you accountable and cheering you up. Good job with what you have achieved, we are all a part of a group that shares knowledge on why it's important, I hope everyone gets to experience it at some point❤
This video is super well done, congrats. I'm a 42 year old hybrid athlete training for my second marathon and your words are wise beyond your years. Thank you for the inspiration and good luck with your training!
Thank you so much!
I can tell Nico devotes a lot of time to editing these videos and they're all top quality. Thanks Nico, we love you, you're a great inspiration to many, keep it up!
it was so refreshing to hear how candid you were about your eating disorder/ life struggles and equally inspiring to see the perserverance. you clearly have it in you, nico!
I want to thank you for your yt shorts, it may appear meaningless but they really have an impact in my life. As a teen I’ve always been chubby and i didn’t like my body, but i did love eating a lot. I started running 2-3 years ago to stay in shape but was nothing serious, and i could not see many results. Then one day youtube recommended me your shorts about what you eat in a day and thought, jesus christ this guy eats a lot and look at his body, and they really motivated me to keep running. As a result i can say 2023 was the year of my rebirth: i don’t run marathons but i improved my running, i can sustain long distances, my bode changed and i now finally am more confident and more important i can now regulate my diet better, and all thanks to a rabdom guy on yt who shares the shit ton of food he eats. Thank you, and please don’t stop doing these, they really helped me.
Thank you for this video. I am a 61 year old so probably not your average viewer. After a lifetime of being overweight, a few years ago I decided to do something about it and lost over 110 lbs. Since then I have been working on my fitness and recently decided to try running. I have set myself a goal of running a 5km park run without stopping and without walking this year. I have managed to run 5km on the treadmill a number of times and I ran a 5km outside just the once. My pace would be laughable to most but from where I have come, I am really pleased. Your video has inspired me to keep pushing and improve myself, even at my age.
Thank you for talking so openly about your struggles, I also have been having trouble in life but running and weight training have helped me through the worst part. You have been a huge inspiration for me past couple of months, and for that I thank you. So excited for this new series
You inspired me to start running for fitness! I don't love it yet, but I do appreciate that I'm pushing to do it anyway because I sit at a desk all day and it helps me stay active. Thank you for continuing to inspire. I hope to fall in love with it as much as you have one day.
Nico I used to run cross country and track in high school and once I got to college it was hard for me to keep up. Once I started battling with mental illness I gave it up completely. You have inspired me to train for my first marathon
so excited for the sub 2:50 journey - i know a lot of people say this but you're the reason i started running, 2 months later and i've just ran my second 10 miler in 1:28! trying to make my schl's cross country team for next year thx to you.
I have thoroughly loved watching your videos - been watching since the Chicago Marathon series and have since rewatched all of your videos. You really push me and inspire me! Thank you for sharing your story (ED included - I can understand how tough that is to get through!) and it is super encouraging to see you keep pushing your boundaries. You make me want to move out west and just run and inspire others full-time, LOL. Keep running the good fight, running the race of endurance.
Congrats on graduating college! I’m super excited for you in this next season of your life! Thanks for the motivation! 🎉
Hey, man. Just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to run. I came across your Chicago marathon video months ago and binged watched that series! Excited for the new one! Good luck! You'll smash it!
Proud of you Nico!! Keep pushing the bar. I, like many others could agree that we all relate to what you said in the video. Everyone has a motive and it’s inspiring to see it come to fruition.
I used to hate running too, I was in the military and hated those stressful morning runs lol. But once I got out after a couple of years I just got a weird desire to start to try running, and actually started to love it. It’s one of the most beautiful, simple things you can do. Yes you need technique, and ways of going about it but there’s something so beautiful about just putting one foot in front of the other. Keeping your head forward, and going ahead.
" It’s one of the most beautiful, simple things you can do." That is exactly right Ebony...Just one foot in front of the other. The least expensine sport to get in to.
I'm excited for this series!!! I need this!!! Watching your channel was the first time something inspired me to get out in the mornings and start running. Still an infant with running but I have a goal now and I didn't before your channel.
thanks for giving me another series to look forward to nico! good luck
Thanks for inspiring us! Training for a 10-miler in April! 🥳🥳
HE'S BACK! Looking forward to this prep and running along with ya!
I’m so excited!! I can’t wait to see what you will do in the Eugene marathon!!! Good luck on the training, and always remember what you are running for!!!
It’s very refreshing to hear you say you hated running at first. I was definitely on the same boat but just signed up for my first half marathon and your videos have been so motivating. Also ended up buying a coros pace 2 thanks to your rec!
Hey man thanks for being vulnerable and sharing your experience. And how you've grown through running. Your shorts have been helpful to me I've been loosely watching your content for a while now. I'm glad you made it through your trials keep grinding.
oh this is so inspiring just found your channel yesterday and i am just in time😀. i recently started jogging and my initial goal was just walking 10K steps but sometimes i feel light and just want to run ,so hopped on YT to educate myself on running and your tips are amazing. today i jogged for 9mins straight without stopping and i am super proud of myself , i was singing while jogging and it helped a lot in controlling my breathing and destructing myself from the long road ahead .
thank you so much , please do continue to share your amazing journey ❤❤
So happy to see you back! I’m new to running. I hate it 🤭 But I love seeing how I’m adapting to this new world. I won’t give up. Your videos are so real and relatable. I look forward to following your newest journey. Cheers 🤗🇨🇦
Hey Nico, good luck on your training! You're my inspiration to keep running!
This video is so incredibly edited, you did an excellent job of capturing your story and grabbing the viewers attention. You are a huge inspiration to many because you pave the way for many young people to start improving their lives with an activity such as running and I think you should be so proud of all your hard work and the impact you have on tons of people’s lives. Keep it going! 😀
Played a year of college baseball and fell out of love with it…always enjoyed running to stay in shape, and now training for my first marathon in May. Looking forward to it and your story seems to echo mine, such a surreal experience working towards these goals. Thanks and best of luck
So excited for this series… currently training for my first marathon this October in Baltimore and can’t wait to do so along side the GOAT. Thanks for being you Nico
It’s crazy. I’ve been watching your content for a while. I also played soccer my entire life but my career ended senior year following an injury. Pretty much identical to what you did I started running, and joined track spring of senior year. I made state in the 800 meter and 1600 mete, but after the season was over, felt empty. I continued running, but felt as though it had no purpose anymore. I came across your content for the chicago marathon and because of you I applied for 2024 and got in. I’ll be training for a sub 3 just like you did. You have no idea how much your content has changed me. Love you Nico ❤
loved this video and im excited to see your training journey!!! i wont be training for a marathon but i just recently got back into running and this is so inspiring!!! your voice is also lovely and perfect for youtube videos. woohoo!! you got this 🎉
amazing to see you back posting. good luck man. go one more.
good luck nico! love watching your progress and journey
truly enjoy watching your videos and witnessing your incredible energy, motivation, and beautiful mindset. Keep up the fantastic work, my friend! You've got this!💪
This is pretty insightful. I have watched your content over the past yr or so. It’s been cool to see your story. I made it a goal to start running this year. I have not ran much in my life. But I want to get into this!
This is beautiful❤ Filming, editing, everything top notch 👌
Yesss Nico 💪🏼💪🏼 ready to watch you on this journey. Keep on the grind. You have inspired me and I am training for my first ever marathon. All the best ❤
Love your video Nico. Keep up the good work and good luck.
That's amazing! I was used to exercising but started running after some love issues....still healing but running was the best decision of my life. Keep going, each milestone should be celebrated, let's rock!
That form - that fade
On point ! Can’t wait to see more of your growth bro!!🥰
One of your best videos Nico. Production quality has levelled up big time. I'm excited for your journey to 2:50. Go get it!
Great video...congrats on the goals you have set and enjoy the journey. I am 52 and a lifelong runner; I always feel bad hearing when people say they tried running but quit because they didn't like it. Your comments said it all...getting in running shape is not fun but once you get there that is when you can truly enjoy everything that the sport brings.
You are just like this enourmous source of inspiration and everyone can see that they re not the only ones that have certain strugles or thoughts or even intentions. You are real and that s inspiring
Great video! I'm running the Mesa 1/2 in 3 weeks and love this video to "remember the why!" Good luck in Eugene!
Keep pushing bro you got my support 💯
I’ve been your follower on TikTok for years now (since you were still counting calories in the videos ) ! I’ve watched every TikTok video, every you tube video and now I signed up for my first half marathon in September. Your content is awesome and inspired me to set a goal and not just run around. Thank you for that man. Good luck for your marathon prep!! I’ll be watching ! 🫶🏼
This video is great, your words motivate me a lot. I started running 4 months ago and just did 10 km in one hour for the first time today. Hope you the best in your trainings...just a random guy from France :)
I’m 45 and started running this week. I’ve been able to run 3 miles every day but up until today, each step seemed like a battle. Finally today, day 5, things are starting to feel easier. My goal is to keep going every day regardless of how I feel. Your story is inspiring! Thank you for sharing. I’ve subscribed and will continue watching for more motivation.
I hope to hear that your still running :) if not this is your sign to get those shoes back on
this video is so well done! love the editing and storytelling, so inspiring! also love the nf hoodie haha
Aye, the man in back! Excited to see how training goes
Great video , thanks for inspiring the masses including myself , I now run recreationally and the feeling after completing runs I didn’t know were possible makes me feel good.Looking forward to more content & hope to improve ❤
This is very inspiring as I want to get back into running myself, but need that extra push! On a side note, that beginning beat paired with the running shot is stellar🙌 Great work!
Man, so many similarities. I use to play soccer at a collegiate level and running was always a punishment as well!! But after college, I tore my acl + life, I didn't expect to love running as much as I do now. The clarity and silence it brings is incredible.
Your video was amazing. Looking forward to the series!! Thank you for inspiring me Nico! Appreciate that a ton! ❤
This is by far my favorite video of yours. The cinematic and everything is so clean. You inspire me to keep running. Thanks for everything you do Nico.
I appreciate that so much thank you🙏🏼
Cant wait to join you on another amazing journey!
I started running 3 years ago, coming out of an eating disorder that I'm stil battling. Your content, and running has helped me so much in my Journey to recovery, and continues to help motivate me, so thank you! I followed along the amazing Journey to Sub 3, and I'm definetly going to be following along this one too 🙂
Thank you so much🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing bro! This video was motivating. I’m running Eugene marathon. I’ll see you there.
Thank you for being so honest about your running journey. I honestly told myself I was not a runner but you have really inspired me to give my Saturday park runs a go. Especially because I feel more energised with lots of people there :)
I really look forward to your vidoes, the last series was so captivating and the way you prepare it, let everyone in on the journey, the way you talk through it, you truly bring the running experience to life, its inspiring and your content is next level. Seriously the best in terms of any running content I have seen on CZcams. Thank you for letting us all be part of your journey. sharing your most vulnerable moments. Excited for the series. Good luck on your way to Two Fifty!
Thank you so much!
Im currently working to improve my half marathon record, You inspire me a lot through your videos and journey! Hoping to run with you one day! Keep inspiring people!
Hey Nico, I appreciate you sharing your experience with an ED. That was very brave of you and I hope that its able to help people out. Thanks for always making great videos. First Half coming this April!

You have inspired me to start running and I look forward to your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your running experience.
Love this , thank you for explaining what I exactly have in mind
Hey Nico, I just ran my first ever half marathon this morning in 1:46. When it got to the final 2 kilometres, the cramping set in and it was dangerously painful but I'm so proud of myself to have toughed it through. I just started running at the start of last year, and you've inspired me plenty since I first started watching you man. Excited for this next leg of your journey.
Amazing video! I love the way you edit! Keep it up!
You’re absolutely gonna crush this!!!
I love this video it’s super well done. Thank you for the inspiration and the good times. I really hope you achieve your goals and much more in this sub 2:50 prep. You have been a big inspiration and a big help in the start of my running journey in August last, year much appreciation and love, best of luck
LFG! Excited for the series!
It is such a beautiful video! Thanks for sharing, so inspiring! Looking forward to more videos 🍀
I love your videos bro!! U inspire me to keep running and work harder at it...thank u loads for that🙏🧡
Powerful words, inspiring vision and motivational!! Thank you!! Video gave me goosebumps!
Very inspiring. Im 5 days into my running and I feel great. I'm excited to push my self for 10 miles
Genuinely the only CZcamsr whose videos I actively get excited about. Such great editing. How could anyone watch your videos and not be inspired to run?!
I’ve been getting over recurring calf strains in the second half of last year from going too hard too fast once I picked up running in May at 36. But have been following a structured strengthening plan and I’m almost back baby!
Did some short run/walks yesterday to test my legs. Felt sooo good to be running again!
Just commenting to say I just had a calf strain and have been struggling to recover with them keep popping up. We’ll keep at it!
Thank you so much Jacob! I really appreciate you!
Your story is almost identical to mine Nico. Had to quit a college soccer career because of an ED. Picking up running in my recovery saved my life.
Love this video. This week, I started jogging on my breaks and lunch. I’m working on building my stamina and this video is the motivation I need 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️❤
I love setting, striving for, and smashing new running goals. Nothing feels quite as gratifying as reaching the finish line after months of painful training.
I loved the video; it felt very cinematic. Good work! 😁👍
Thank you so much!
Hellooo! Been waiting for the 2:50 marathon vid :) You're the reason I got into running
Great job dude!! Go one more 🔥💯
Absolutely loved it ❤️❤️🫶🏻🫶🏻
Just subscribed. Your journey is so similar to mine. A soccer injury to my knee means i cant play the game anymore but i am still able to run. But i was ten years of very little exercise and i was obese and one day at the start of lockdown my 9 year old daughter said dad lets go for a run. So we did. And 3 years later i am training for my 3rd marathon and looking not bad at 44 years old. Haha. But that feeling when your out running and the stress of the world is away cant be topped. Look forward to following your journey man. Good luck on 2.50!!
you deserve way more hype Nico. Your videos are always so cinematic and inspiring. Keep it up!
Thank you so much I appreciate that!!
Hell yeah Nico! Get after it broski
Goodluck brada! Almost same story here. High level soccer and stopted. The world is silent when you run is exactly how it feels for me. I will follow your process. You are defently inspiring me! I'm training for my first Marathon! Greetings from Rotterdam!❤
Let’s gooo!! So excited for this new chapter. Keep doing your thing, you’re helping so many people. Can’t wait to cheer you on‼️
Thank you so much!!
Absolute greatness man
Nico keep pushing and go strong to april marathon
Beautiful man - good luck on 28th !
Im just starting training at 60 for Venice Marathon in October its 10 years since my last run !! - never too late hey 😎
Good luck Nico! I'm running my first half marathon in 6 weeks. I have set a goal of sub 2 hours and I know I'm going to crush it. Your content is great and I love every video!
I've always had a rough relationship with running. I have asthma, which has always made running harder for me. I love soccer and played my whole life, but got two severe concussions in high school and was never the same again. I deal with chronic headache pain and prolonged concussion symptoms. I got really down on myself, was always comparing myself to others, and had very negative self-talk and low self-esteem. I've grown so much mentally and physically since my concussions and want to embrace running as a tool for personal growth. I'm inspired by your mentality and how the consistency and not being too hard on yourself brought you to reach new levels of success. I enjoyed your video and wish you the best for your journey!
The videos get better and better every time … more inspiring, more value every time, whilst still keeping it interesting and entertaining. Keep it up🙌
Thank you very much🙏🏼
Love the story man. Just started running months ago and now I am gearing for a half marathon first ever. Hardest part was knowing how much I hated running but loved structure. As a hockey guy, running fills that void in my 30's.
I could watch this over and over, the editing is just SO GOOD
Thank you so much!!
Bruhhhhh you ate this videography UP. And I identify so much with this video. Got me following on all socials now 😭 congrats buddy.
Appreciate that!! Thank you so much🙏🏼
