For me The best of times N the worst of times Only becuz my life sucked worse since 1990 was it the best times of my life There were some incredible times And then in 1990, all the good ended It’s been a long 32 yrs Were it not for Messiah, I would be 6’ under
I admire you Pat for putting your daughters first and foremost and still rockin. Yes i was a divorced mother of two myself what i would've given to have been able to be with my children especially when they were ill. I thank you and Niell for the best music ever.
Pat Benatar is an authentic professional, an enlighted parent, and she must be one of the few "whole" persons anywhere. I always admired her musicianship since my youth, her heyday of popularity, but I eventually discovered she was smart, too. She is not only a credit to music, but she also "stands" as a fine example to women, men, all humanity. Thank you, Mrs. Giraldo!
I first met her when I was 15 in a high school dance. She was fronting the band and was singing everything from Grand Funk to Neil Young and Zeppelin. She was incredible to say the least. At 15 I don't think I was 5'5" and I towered over her. She was so tiny. Less than 90 pounds and her voice was so powerful. She was so incredibly shy. She barely spoke to me. That was probably 1969 or 70.
Mike383HK wow that’s so cool! Thanks for sharing! I actually met her for the first time a few days back. She truly is such a genuine person. And so sweet/down to earth. I’ve loved her since I was young. Used to rock out to heartbreaker and dance to her songs. It truly was an honor ❤️
Pat seems like a really nice, genuine person from what I can see in this interview. The kind of person you'd love to have as a friend, even if she weren't a famous singer.
It's nice that her daughter has her moms support with her singing group. I would say that it is easier for her daughter to gain fame because of her mother being famous, but if the music isn't good then it don't matter who your parents are no one will buy it.
Love Pat Benatar I wouldn't have survived the eighties without her what a great vocalist seen her twice in concert when I was young she seems like such a kind person she waved to me I'll never forget that I think I had her haircut in 1980 everybody did and she still rocking they don't make them like her anymore 🎵🎶🫂
I know it will be hard for Haly. She's got mega sized shoes to fill. I know she hoping one day they will looks at Pat Benatar and say, "aren't you Haly Girardo's mom?" dont think so. The music from Pat's day (my day) is just too incredible. Unfortunately the music of today, hmm, for a lack of better words, sucks! But it's great that mom is out there so supportive of her daughter. Love it.
pat benatar is a great performer, everybody knows that but she also seems like a great human being. p.s........who should already be in the rock n roll hall of fame, what are they waiting for?
Talented and smart. What she said about motherhood between 3:51 and 4:18 is what all good mothers feel. That is that in taking care of a child, mothers completely by necessity have to put aside all thoughts of self. It's actually very therapeutic in addition to being rewarding. I've heard many mothers say that.
I was too young to go to the concerts during her heyday in the 80's. But I lived for this woman's music, and my first rock concert in 2009 at age 32 was Pat, who was touring with Blondie (BLONDIE!!!) and The Donnas. She went in to specifics about how each song came to be, and I had no idea until she mentioned it that she REALLY hates Hit Me With Your Best Shot, but Neil makes her sing it since it's such a fave! I was lucky to get front row for that concert, and the speakers were on the stage, so my ears were ringing for about a week LOL. Who cares if I go deaf? It's Pat friggin' Benatar!
Robert Nieves: yes she always hates having to sing hit me with your best shot because it’s become a cliché song that she’s always identified with and sick of. It’s a matter of fact she usually will only perform in concert if she gets a second encore.
Wow! Thanks for the post. I didn't know Pat finally had kids, I remember her finding out she couldn't back in the 80's. However she got that fixed, I don't care. I'm glad she is happy and still with DA MAN!
The biggest thing that irritates me is Rock Hall of Fame still refuses to put Pat Benatar in after 40 years... come on Rock Hall.. quit putting these no-name people nobody's heard of that sold 200 albums...
I thought that too. It's like babe, u couldn't make it thru the door of a record company. You have no idea what it is when you're on the outside and know NOBODY. Plus if she's in a pop girl group she isn't doing her mom's style music. I assume their PR rep suggested she say that so people focus on poor Haley trying to make her own name, rather than spoiled Haley handed a career cuz her mom's an rock icon
Opens doors, but always throws shade. she cannot escape being Pat's daughter. Same for Sean Lennon, phenomenal guitarist and musician, but he cannot escape being John Lennon's son.
Simple: change last name. Pat’s voice is exceptional ! She studied opera, and used her voice to her fullest extent! “ You think human beings are cool- you should have one..” She and Neil/ Neal love life! I wish we were back in the 80’s again!
I don't think she meant it that way. I think she was expressing how Haley probably felt or feels. I give her credit for stepping aside and putting that into perspective. It has to be a tradeoff. In a child's life the child has to be #1, but in a star's life, the star has to be #1, otherwise they cease to be the star. Like everything else, there's a place and a time. But, Pat's reputation follows Haley around & I think that was more the point. Pat, as her Mother, simply tried to identify that.
My husband was going to marry Stevie Nicks, his moms age That didn’t quite work out But he still thought he would name his second daughter after her song, Rhiannon Uh, no 😁
Oh, to any trolls thinking of reading into my statement & trying to put words in my mouth, allow me to clarifysomething: I am not, I repeat NOT, saying Julian was more talented than John, in any way, shape or form did I suggest it... It was merely an observation in general about ANY successful artist's child, posed more as a hypothetical. Just my 2 cents, learned as a lifelong singer/musician in So Calif, with years of pounding the pavement, paying dues, etc in the industry under my belt.
She is absolutely one of the greatest female vocalist of all time.
Finally!! Congratulations Pat and Neil Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Class of 22! Rock on!
Man I would love to go back to the 80’s n stay there it’s was the best time of my life

I always like Pat Benetar. She's smart, has one of the best voices in rock and looks better than ever.
Put Pat in the Hall of Fame! She's over Due
I admire you Pat for putting your daughters first and foremost and still rockin. Yes i was a divorced mother of two myself what i would've given to have been able to be with my children especially when they were ill. I thank you and Niell for the best music ever.
Pat is great as a mother.
So much respect and admiration for Pat and Neil
Pat you are so beautiful WOW Zowie and thank you for your wonderful music
Pat Benetar still looks great, and she's still a sharp cookie.

Mike383HK that is amazing. So jealous. Grew up listening to her thanks to mom. I absolutely love her and music.
Mike383HK and btw I got into Pat myself. My mom isn’t much of a fan. But I did buy her a ticket to the concert and she loved it!
@ Mike, what a memory for a lifetime, she is a Goddess of Classic rock.
She was not shy she just didn't want to speak to you.
Pat seems like a really nice, genuine person from what I can see in this interview. The kind of person you'd love to have as a friend, even if she weren't a famous singer.
Spam Bucket oh she is very genuine. I met her a few days back. I love her. She was so sweet! She for sure is super down to earth.
She’s genuinely beautiful and just an all around great woman I loved her when I met her just so down to earth
Thanks, Pat. I like your family unit, and its individuals! (white-ass old dude from Canada)
I would totally kill to have kick-ass rock god parents like Pat and Neil. I was born in 1977, and been obsessed with them since 1979.
Wow, I learned a lot about them from this. Thanks so much. Love them always.❤
Pat Benatar Band .... Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!!!!!!????
Hello
I hope you voted this time.
@@westonhough4813 Yes I did in 2022!
So chuffed we finally did it, was gutted two years ago. So happy they both finally did that milestone.
It's nice that her daughter has her moms support with her singing group. I would say that it is easier for her daughter to gain fame because of her mother being famous, but if the music isn't good then it don't matter who your parents are no one will buy it.
You could say the same thing about Bob Dylan's son.
Fantastic role model - Pat is so talented!
Pat and Ann Wilson….the two female voices of RnR.
Pat Benatar is SO AWESOME.
All hail the queen of Rock and roll
Ann Wilson is better ,Pat is second!

Yes. She’s AWSOME
Pat Benatar still puts out great stuff.
Music and daughters.
Pat was a big hit with the small military unit I was with back in 82 or so. They Boys loved her " ooh ooh" song.
WOW what a MOM.
I remember when Pat was pregnant and holding a pillow over her tummy while recording. She was afraid of hurting her baby's ears.
I LOVE PAT BENETAR!
SHE IS AN AMAZING TREASURE!
pat benatar is a great performer, everybody knows that but she also seems like a great human being. p.s........who should already be in the rock n roll hall of fame, what are they waiting for?
Init. Have we done it with the votes. I hope you voted.
Just a great mum well done kid lucky to have parents like that wish you well

now that is way cool if I ever ever heard or seen a mom and daughter together that is way cool.
Keep Rock -n- Rolling.
Just love her jaw structure .
Yes, that undershot jaw of Pat’s made her seem even tougher when she was singing those aggressive rock hits.
Pat Benatar is AWESOME!
Wow the narrorator Ms DeSantis perfectly described Pat Benatar the way I imagined her to be. Pat Bentar is an American Treasure talent.
FASCINATING~
WELL DONE LADIES!!👏👏💋💋
Until Now I am still a Punker Rocker

Hopefully next year ('20). It's way overdue... 😄
Dude not at all R&R Hall of Fame members are bad Dee Snider being one of them and he’s from Long Island too
I truly agree. !!!!!!!
Wayyyyyy overdue. She’s the voice of rock!
Pat's still smokin hot..I'd love to here some mellow slow tunes from her.
Tell Neil to play the piano more.
As soon as she knew she could sing she was hooked! I know the feeling!
Man, brutal editing.
Seems like a well rounded, down to earth mom to me...
My idol
mine as well!
Pat was the most beautiful woman in music
Holding her.....back? Can you imagine how many doors would open once they found out her mom was Pat Benatar?
I thought that too.
It's like babe, u couldn't make it thru the door of a record company.

you got that right Pat Benatar is a ROCK ICON. Very small group of women in that category.
Pat is the bomb!! Not too many have a voice like hers. Ann Wilson is also amazing. Just not as amazing as Pat Benatar!!
Opens doors, but always throws shade. she cannot escape being Pat's daughter. Same for Sean Lennon, phenomenal guitarist and musician, but he cannot escape being John Lennon's son.
Awesome Interview They rock
having pat benatar as your mom must be coolest thing on earth but yes i imagine could make things diff for a child but still so cool~!
It's hard to take care of your kid while being on the road, but she seems to have done a good job of it.
LOVE!!! THIS.
Whole, happy, and find true love.
Simple: change last name.
Pat’s voice is exceptional !
She studied opera, and used her voice

“ You think human beings are cool- you should have one..”
She and Neil/ Neal love life!
I wish we were back in the 80’s again!
Thanks what a wonderful. Vid

Amazing interview
pat benatar still looks great and hot at her age now!
What a lady!

Wow so cool mental image of a hard core rocker with a kid on her hip
What a pretty Momma.
She gets better looking with age. Amazing. Great voice still.
I've been a pat General is indeed a favorite ya known roller skating days
Did you're kids and grandkids was in wow
Oh my....who is more adorable.....Mom or Haley...editing is bit choppy but so what....content is fabulous
Rock on moms and Nannas
She looks just like Britney Spears here 3:38
She looks like a porn star, now. She got a nose job and had her lips injected. It's horrible.
Lola S lol
Night 👼
This was made when it was still good to be a Mother, now it is looked down on. Being a Mother, Father is the most important job in the world.
3:37 she looks like Britney! ;)
vous ete toutes les deux manifique
Haley is about 26 now; her youngest Hana is 18; just graduated HS.
The first bad ass chic I had a crush on lol
And now I like drawing a comic
Ven a lima Peru a cantar soy tu fan1🤩😘🥰
Six years and still ive never heard of her band glow
holy crap haley looks completely different today.
She's just a kid; and Brittany was her favorite singer; just like her mother was/is mine! Kids try to dress like their idols; nothing unusual.
Seen her at 1982 US festival, I don’t remember much, I remember Pat Benetar though, not in RNR hall of fame is complete bullshit☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
As a teen boy I was going to marry her.. Things didn’t exactly go as I’d planned. Now 55! Lol
My husband was going to marry Stevie Nicks, his moms age
That didn’t quite work out
But he still thought he would name his second daughter after her song, Rhiannon
Uh, no
😁
Her kids family roots are the same as me polish mother and Italian father
Newport!
Back in the day they really didn't have alot of female rock artists. Most of the rock bands were from the U.K.
Pat... We belong... God bless you.

wow! Haley looks like her dad!!!
+River Forest But with her mums eye colour and chin
got her autobiography book. I couldn't put it down until I was done.
Oh wow, I was wondering if she had an autobiography book! I can imagine that's amazing!
What's up with all the rickie lee jones shots?
