*** Henkan arranged and produced the “Swedish Beatles” called Tages that became "Blond" and got to record in Abbey Road.
George Martin liked what he heard and contracted Andy. Listen to “The Lilac Years” by Blond. It’s almost like discovering an unreleased Beatles album… At least close. 😊
He also worked next door to the Abbey Road sessions when he produced the Quatermass album, including the song “Black Sheep of the Family”.
*** Palmers, of course, among many things went on to produce the version of "Hooked on a Feeling" that became the first Swedish No. 1 song in the US! It was on April 6, 1974, that Björn Skifs & Blåblus, (Blue Swede), reached the top of the US chart. The version has almost 700 million streams on Spotify alone. Shortly followed by ABBA - and "the Swedish music wonder" was born!
