'S' is for superb. Another creative band filled with real musicians. I love how they slowly build the rhythms into a funky, jazzy, smooth jam.

You could have done with ten more minutes?…………go for the whole 45 minutes or so of the ‘Crime of the century’ album, its one of the great albums not just of the 70s but of the century……..

You have to listen to "Goodbye Stanger" if you like that "wackawacka" guitar! This song has a great ending and Roger Hodgson (the singer with the high voice) really has it! All of Supertramp's music is like a rollercoaster, believe me, I've loved it since 1977 and never get enough of it.

Supertramp was one of the soundtracks of my high-school days. Used to be "underrated"... Not any more, thanks to the younger generation of people who actually have an ear.

Supertramp is so fun to listen to, "School" was one of the first track I heard from them a long time ago... It's kind of progressive, you never know where they go, they surprise you and that matches ! They have so many beautiful songs, "Take the long way home" (I love that one), "Logical song"... Nice reaction 👌

it was a clarinet, not an instrument you hear often in rock. Such a beautiful sound. That whole album is superb. All equally great tracks

Thanks for the reaction to School! My advice for getting into Supertramp is easy: Every track off this album (Crime of the Century) one down already, every track on Crisis? What Crisis?, every track on Even In The Quietest Moments, followed by every track on Breakfast in America. Then look for live versions as well! Good luck with X and Z!!

Amazing band I just rediscovered a year ago. From in the quietest moments, crime of the century to Breakfast in America… each album has its own unique sound and feel.
    Pure talent!

blast from the past, my big brother use to drive me nuts with this band and their funky jangles LOL. He was pretty into them, I liked a few songs but I think my little mind wasn't ready for their kind of prog, I was too busy with punk and power metal to sit still for Supertramp. Logical Song and Take The Long Way Home I did like and a couple others, but personally I think my lack of being a stoner at that time hindered my ability to follow their tracks..LMAO

Never seen this Channel B4 buy made me smile to seeing a younger metal head chilling on stuff I grew up with!
Love this track and even used it to compare Speakers! 🙂
If you haven't already selected T then Thin Lizzy (anything from the album Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous 😉

Hide in Your Shell, is another great song from this album. I like everything from Supertramp with Roger Hodgson. After he left the band it wasn’t the same.

but I would suggest the whole album, it's one of histories greatest.

So I’ve watched a few of your reactions, Queen and Supertramp. The mix back in the day was as much of a gig as doing a live show. Beatles, Floyd, Queen, Zeppelin, Styx, Yes, SO MANY, used the studio to make things interesting and maybe even “trippy”. Why have STEREO and not use it? A wall of sound to blow your face off is fun but STEREO, makes it even more cool!

Saw them at Ford Auditorium in Detroit in 74 fall and 2x after that. Small venue 3k, they held concerts during the week for $2.00 and would have 2 or 3 bands. My cousin had heard their previous album Crisis? What Crisis? and talked us into going. First band terrible, next Reo Speedwagon were decent then Supertramp. They played this whole album and their old stuff. We walked out of there wondering how the were not huge already. 2 months later they exploded. Saw Queen at the same venue. Supertramp was a victim of their own success. Some of Breakfast in America and later album became too pop for me, the band started fighting , record company wanted more hits that was the end Roger and Rick don't even speak any longer. too bad

Supertramp was a good choice: great musicians playing great music.
The entire "Crime of the Century" album is a classic and well worth listeniing to in its entirety.
PS. Not sure what's going on but you and the music are sounding muffled, foggy, unclear.
