My only suggestion for future toutists: never travel to Beijing during summer holiday (late June to late August) lol. The best traveling season of Beijing is Autumn (avoid National Day holiday in October for sure). Beijing belongs to kids and students between 3 and 22 years old from all over the country during this holiday.

😲😯😳😱❤My God....Very powerful ancient engineering..In ancient times, there were no cranes, and all work could only be done manually...The Great Wall is one of the seven wonders of the world. China's infrastructure construction capacity has already begun Two thousand years ago, and it has always inherited the genes of infrastructure construction.

The meaning of the Great Wall is not on its scenery but national security. It is a sacred land of all Chinese. It is a divider of agricultural culture versus safari culture. It protect China from the Northern invasion for many many times. It is a story of heroes of China who gave their lives to protect the country.

Mutianyu section is also stunning but less crowded, u can see many foreign tourists there usually. I have been to Badaling section during the national holiday which was much more crowded than the situation in your video. At the end of the day, being surrounded by lots of people is also kind of experience.😂

Your video brings up my memory, I visited Mu Tian Yu section of GW last time, no cable car was needed, only by foot. Beijing is great for travelers, so many interesting sites to visit, so many emperors were there before, even today. LOL.

I feel your experience going to the Great Wall was sooo different from mine! I believe we went to different sections though. What an incredible view right! :D When we went it was super hot but honestly it was nowhere near as packed with people like in this video! We got the bus too and cable car but if I'm not mistaken it was around 20 euro each for the busses and cable car :o

I would prefer to visit in the spring when it’s not that hot. Knowing you’re leaving China soon and it’s great that you climb the Great Wall, the ancient architecture in China. It’s just magnificent.

Love your presentations. Have been to China three times - but to the Great Wall 5 times - Badaling, Mutianyu, Shanhaiguan, Huanguacheng and Juyongguan. The wall mesmerises me - hence the visits. Would never go back to Badaling (way too crowded) but loved Juyongguan and Shanhaiguan. I must say China is an amazingly beautiful country but I find South Korea far less crowded and much more courteous...

I saw an Aussie guy whose CZcams ID is Paul enterprise visited a section of The Great Wall accessed from Tianjin. He had the entire wall of his own. If you visit it again, you could look into a different access.

I went to the Great Wall a few times in the past and it was never this crowded. Definitely avoid peak tourist season, weekends, and holidays. Of all the different locations of GW, Badaling is the most popular (also in best condition), thus the crowd. It looks like you did fine.

We went in middle of June, very hot. Approx. 2 Hours drive north of Beijing, to the Mutianyu section. We hired a private air conditioned van and driver and Tour guide. Arrived at 7:30 am and were on the wall by 8:00 am..Took the cable car up and down. Besides about 20 people we had the wall to ourselves. It was beautiful, and yes I was unfit. In our photo looking with the wall winding into the distance there is nobody in the photo behind us just the wall and watch towers. I loved going through the watch towers. Sit on the steps in the shade and admire the view. I felt like I was in a postcard, amazing experience. We will do it again in Autumn this time. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Did Badaling in 1998 and it was bad enough then. But an absolute nightmare now, by the looks of it. Managed to get to Huanghua in 2002, and that was a million times better. Very few people doing it, and stunning scenery. Even being asked to pay "wu kuai" on a couple of sections by enterprising locals could not spoil it.

To beat the crowds, go on a weekday, first thing in the morning, or late in the afternoon-the light will be better for your Instagrams that time of day, anyway.
So maybe don't make a day trip from Beijing, but stay for the night closer to the place on a greater encircling travel plan.

Don't go to the Great Wall from Beijing, that's what was shown on the video. The Wall is thousands of km long (granted, not all of it is in great condition), but everyone goes to this 1 km long section thanks to tourist operators. (and yes, it is steep, but many parts of the wall are very steep)
