Progress of ukrainian military? Are you sleeping under a rock? All russian forces in north and east Ukraine left on their own and ukrainian military took over empty territory. That they drove out russian army heroically fighting is a myth. Look at southern Ukraine where heavy combat takes place for 6 months now. Ukraine lost there min. 20 % of territory and is not able to take back a single inch. Instead they are constantly loosing territory there and have devastating losses of soldiers and military equipment. They talk every day of successful counterattacks but where are the liberated villages and towns? So what tells us this "parade" of scrap metal in Kiev in reality? Ukraine is really afraid of russian missiles and is not able to protect even the capital, so they cancelled a ukrainian military parade in Kiev (they did a parade in 2021). They are unable to present newly captured and usable material of russian army, instead they show 6 month old metal carcasses they collected around Kiev. By the way - burned out military vehicles without signs could be very well of their own army since they use largely exact the same military equipment as Russia (it stems all from SU). So for Russia this "parade" in Kiev is nothing to worry about, they see it as a show created by media people around Zelenzky. Maybe it boosts the morale of ukrainian civilists but it doesn't have any effect to the war itself.

Do you know what attrition war is and what does this strategy implies ? Conquering field is good. Being able to keep and secure it on long term is better. In all previous asymetric wars big powers ( USA, Russia, etc...) always succeeded well in conquering in few weeks the field then securing agaisnt insurgents and sabotage was most difficult and tired them on long term... I wonder what it will remain of Russian forces at the end of this painful conquest phasis to really secure "liberated" territories but also its own huge domestic territory against Russian speaking partisan actions. There are a lot of infrastructures which are so vulnerable to modern weapon now in Ukrainian hands... Will Russia pay for years its crazzy expensive mercenaries, will they ask Chechen to expatriate there for ever ? All the more this time insurgents will not have crap homemade IED and basic AT weapons as usual but bombing drones, magnetic mines and long range ATGM... A nightmare for any occupying force to secure and patrol ... Even victory scenario on conventionnal battlefield that you describe will mean bloody and expensive nightmare ahead as a new chapter in war... a quagmire in all cases

One thing to observe is many of the destroyed equipment is tracked (damaged tracks), and are burnt out. It was typical of the Russian and American militaries in the past to burn tracked equipment to prevent use by enemy forces. These can be seen (mostly) as sour grapes

The bottom line, Russia has captured Ukrainian territory and has an upperhand in the war. As for destroyed assets are concerned, both armies sustained them. And since many of the tanks, being of Soviet era, in use of both armies, how can one know whose tanks and equipment is being exhibited. It could be Ukrainian being shown as Russian to boost the public's morale.
I don't think Russia has any kind of upper hand. War is not just about capturing territories. Look at what is the cost Russia paid to capture the territory. I know there is propaganda from both sides but even from neutral perspective I see this war a stalemate. Russia had to withdraw from Kiev as they didn't expected such immense resistance from Ukrainian security forces. So clearly nothing is happening as per Russia's plan.

Just 2 months back my uncle died in road accident he got sandwiched between his SUV and a speeding truck after he had just changed the puncture tyre. His body was very badly damaged we didn't even open the body after the postmortem we only open it during his final rituals on the funeral piers. The trauma is the still not leaving me now imagine the number of soldiers died in this Russia Ukraine war and how terribly their bodies were damaged.
