    Thanks for your video! Is it possible to use the Sonos Connect to create a Home video setup with 2 speakers (Sonos One or Play:1) and a wireless video projector (EPSON LCD EH-TW6700W) by connecting Sonos Connect to the Epson's WiHD transmitter using a digital to analog audio converter? That's what I've been advised but since have zero knowledge in home cinema or audio tech whatsoever, I'm not sure if it will work. I can't have a soundbar system in my apartment since the projection screen I'll be using will be placed in front of a window (with opaque curtains) with no place to put a sound bar directly under the screen. As I have been told putting a sound bar above the screen close to the ceiling is a bad idea, the only option I have left since I don't want to ruin the aesthetics of my living room is to fix the 2 speakers on the sides of the screen directly mounted to the wall, quite high up so they don't occupy too much of my wall space. Do you think this setup will work as it is? Thanks if you could help me!

    OMG it's so great, OMG it's so great, OMG it's so great... really easy-to-use, next-level engineering, the ideal-fit for many consumers, such a game-changer... Dude you and that Sonos should really get a room so you can plug your jack into one of its sockets! 🤣
    I love it when it randomly stops working and more so when can't be found by the app despite being on the same LAN (wired) of my phone and yet the App can't find any Sonos devices... gotta love that!

    What is the optical port for? I am using the Connect as an input to an old (very) Bose system that is built in throughout my house and it works great. My old TV connected to my Bose System, so the audio output would go through the Connect and then the Bose speakers. I just bought a brand new TV and it only has a Digital Optical Output, USB, coax Antenna Input, Ethernet, and 2 HDMI input ports. Can the TV's Optical Output connect with the Optical port on the Connect so that the TB's audio output goes through my Connect and then through the Bose system?

Currently I use Apple TV and airplay audio which works fine. There is a reduces audio level I notice but not a deal breaker. My solution was since I dont have TV, to use PS5 as main source of video.
      So, PS5 >to> Projector i used HDMI(for image). And Optical-cable adapter to HDMI and connect the HDMI to Sonos Beam(for sound).
      Happily my PS5 has Optical output for audio.
      Works great! Didn't have to buy whole new device for that.

    • @boxiii
      @boxiii  Před 4 lety +2

      Bart Waalwijk Great question! Unfortunately, you cannot use Sonos wireless speakers for the rear channels of a conventional receiver, fed via a CONNECT's Line-In. The ~75ms delay through the Sonos system makes this impossible. The only way to use sonos play speakers as a rear channel would be in sync with a sonos beam or play bar. With that said The sonos connect is still an extremely useful addition to any A/V setup and will give you that great sonos user interface while streaming music over your hardwire setup!

      Search for rca cables on Amazon for the red and white cables with metal connectors on the end and speaker cable for the bare cabling

    The Sonos S2 app is not recognizing my connect any suggestions?

    • @mechdude1
      @mechdude1 Před 3 lety

      I could be wrong but I don't think it's compatible with the new app. I'm quite sure you have to use the original app in order to keep functionality.

    How do I know if a used Sonos amp is S2 compatible?

    • @sergey4162
      @sergey4162 Před rokem

      The most obvious sign is the top button on the front panel. S1 unit has a “mute” button while S2 units has a “play/pause”. True for both Connect and Connect:Amp

    My Sonos Connect CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT stop blinking white. I cannot get it to connect to my WiFi. I cannot get it to blink orange or green. I have spent so many HOURS (not kidding.... HOURS) trying to get this to work. My other Sonos speakers are working well with my phone app and with my WiFi. Could it just be broken? I did not drop it, no trauma, no accident. I cannot figure this out. I have been on Sonos twitter and trying so many re-connect "tricks" - nothing is working. Any suggestions?

    Way easier and cheaper to buy a dac and just hook your computer up to it. I mean, I watched this video and it says it makes “everything seamless” but all you did was hook up a streaming service to it.. can’t your smart tv just access your streaming service from the browser? Man this item should be 50$ not 350$

    You connecting to a phono (equalized high gain pre amp) input, makes me think you are not as tech savvy as you think you are...did you actually use it and did it sound bassy and distorted?.
