Great time lapse! I just got a pitcher plant and am watching it form pitchers for the first time. This video was a great way to watch the process, and a reassurance that the pitchers were healthy and developing properly! Very excited to watch my own blossom 😄
So cool! Just got a new nepenthes a few weeks ago. We trimmed dead traps and leaves. And one of its leaves that was small and curled up. Opened. But my cat ate it 😢. One pitcher got damaged. But i didn't know that theyll grow that fast 😄
Awesome video! 😲👍 Great macro and details of this "every home need one one" plant! I had trouble with them drying out, but found that it thrives if I put it in the sun and keep the whole pot submerged in water. Really trying to drown it. 😄
This so cool! I just got interested on carnivore plants and doing some research and I found this! Amazing! I'm still in awe! Thank you for this wonderful video! 💚💚💚
Interesting comment. Hard work would be working in an Amazon warehouse. This video was all about setting up your camera and then walking away and letting it do it's thing. Not hard work.
Fascinating to see them develop and evolve in time laps . I will scrutinize this to determine . When and at what stage the plant adds digestive enzymes into the developing pitchers . Ty for sharing this . Very educational.
Thats amazing, I love these plants got a couple myself. I think i'll post a video someday talking about them. My most fav at the moment is my nepenthes robcantleyi x hamata it is vigorous
I recently got a Nepenthes bicalcarata, and it is halfway in the production its first leaf since I acquired it, it was absolutely fascinating to see the full development of a leaf and its pitcher in your video. I hope mine can grow with such grace and finesse,! 👌
Wow! Fantastic! I own the p1000 too and i cannot understand how you made such a long timelapse. The only settings the camera has for timelapse are from 10min to 150min. And superlapse (movie) maximum recording time is 29min. I also checked on the manual and there isnt any way to disable these time limits. Can you explain how you did it? 🤔
The interval function can be selected under the menu item serial recording. There you can choose the interval at which the photos should be taken. There is no time limit. You can see it here in another video of mine. The menu can only be seen in German there. I hope this helps you anyway. czcams.com/video/a7NYVdQwiio/video.html
Mimosa pudica. It folds it leaves every evening and if you touch it. It´s a sensitive plant and it folds it´s leaves as quick that you can see it without timelapse. I only know three plants able to do this.
yeah, that wasn't a good idea. after the end of the time lapse, the plants were separated from one another. all 3 plants survived and are growing very well.
@@LindemannFilmFotoDrohne but how can u make a time lapse video after that? cause I also have a Coolpix p1000 and I followed your settings with intervalometer n all, but at the end how to create the time lapse video?
Hi there. Was it just photos or is it a video you shot. I just got my Nikon P 1000 - I haven't even charged it yet - and was wandering if this is a series of pics stitched together or if it is a continuous shot you processed afterwards. Thanks
Nepenthes need special soil for carnivorous plants. The soil must not be too rich in nutrients. In addition, you should only water them with rainwater, since tap water usually contains too much lime. The pot should be permanently submerged in water to keep the soil moist. And then the plant should be in a relatively sunny place. It also does not tolerate cold.
I always leave them in the water so that the soil always stays moist. The plants are in a sunny window seat. In winter, when it gets darker, they get fewer pitchers, sometimes even no pitchers for a while.
Also I saw you had flytraps those need dormancy in the winter for atleast three months if you put it in the fridge for 3 months it will live for another year... If you skip dormancy your flytrap will die over the span of 2 years
This is not a mold. these are limescale deposits. I had made the mistake of using normal tap water. After the time lapse was over, I repotted the plants and only watered them with rainwater.
no, they fill themselves with water. If the water from the Nepenthes' pitchers accidentally spills you can add something yourself. but very little and only rainwater or distilled water. If I added too much water, the pitchers dried up.
I don’t want to be a buzzkill but nepenthes and flytraps should not be together because one is tropical wick means warm all year round and I don’t know if that is a Venus fly trap but the flytrap needs a winter dormancy idk about the plant in the middle and also nepenthes don’t really do good in soil but better in sphagnum moss just a few tips ☺️

That time lapse is a tropical Pitcher plant like my photo
It's actually not a flower. Just a modified leaf for digesting anything that is in there. Mine's in bloom now (Male).
What a great timelapse. Love the different parts you chose to zoom in on.

Having the pot submerged in water kills it. And these plants are pretty easy to grow if you keep the soil moist

Amazing timelapse!
Can I ask you a question?
Is it okay for the plants to get 24/7 light? I think they need to rest too.
Thank you. During the time lapse, the Nepenthes grew very well. So i don't think 24/7 light is a problem for them. But I don't know for sure.

It is a lower pitcher trying to attract bugs that crawl on the floor based on the color pattern

Do they need special soil and humidity or can we grow them under normal sunlight like a regular house plant??
