  • We installed two of the Valterra Products E.Z. Hose Carriers. Those bolts to the trailer frame and provide great storage of the sewer hoses.

    One other tip. To make it easier to find the right spot to place the lid before twisting closed, I inserted the lid in the spot that it goes before twisting closed, and put a small white spot on the lid and tube. It makes it so easy to get the lid back in quickly. Abom is right, the lids can be a pain to get back in just right so they twist and engage the retainers. The alignment spots make it easy.

    Adam nice addition with the tubes. Noticed that you had to hold the cap back while trying to push in waste hose in initial. Might design a cap retainer like what is used on a car gas cap to hold it back might be beneficial. Enjoy watching.

      I wouldn't be in a hurry to replace something that is tailored to the owners needs, regardless of age. New anything in this market is over priced and just another project to customize to ones needs.

    My TT has 2 Black tanks so I installed 3 of these to be able to carry plenty of hose. Easy install and durable. The lids can pop off if you aren't attentive when putting them on. I put small carabiners in the latch holes after the lids were on and twisted in place. Did save me from losing a lid once when I didn't pay attention putting the lid on. They will hold one long hose or 2 shorter ones snapped together. If you try to pussh more into them the lid will pop off the other side so keep that in mind. These work very well and are worth every penny

    Well done. Great idea and its truly amazing that any manufacturer doesn't do the same as base equipment. It makes so much sense...you wonder why they don't do the same when they are built. Same with the storage bins you will install...seems to be a fair idea to include them as standard equipment as the value is extremely high for the cost.

    Awesome. Wished I’d have seen them sooner! I retired from tank truck driving and had two custom cut with hose doors out of aluminum 32” long, I put two spare 10 footers in them. I polished them out so they look good sitting under the rear of the motorhome. Costed me way more but I really like and wished I’d seen the Valletta set up you got. Oh well day late and dollar short. 😂Great idea ya got.

    Just put one on my trailer. I used jackstands to hold the tube up. Hot that hint for another you tuber. I also zip tied the none opening end. My sewer hose is 20 ft and had a little trouble making it fit. I had to open the plug on the end of the to let air out.I also used blue lock tight on the screws.
    When you use the bumper for hose storage put some stainless steel screws in the end caps. This way your hose wont come out and wave at people.

    Who would steal a sewage hose? Someone that lost theirs and doesn't want to pay for a new one, that's who.
    Plastic brackets, how long before those crack? Or how long before Adam fires up the CNC and makes new aluminum necessarily over-engineered brackets?

    • @AbomAdventures
      @AbomAdventures  Před rokem

      I respectfully member of the rv’ing and camping community would never steel something from another rv’er. Not saying it wouldn’t happen, just not likely. I think your more likely to encounter people who’d rather vandalize your stuff. I doubt anyone who is storing their sewer hoses outside has had to deal with them being stolen.

    I am not liking the use of the self tapping bolts. I drive a semi truck… I know what kind of vibration the road puts on stuff. Then you added washers and that gives you less bite.
    Thru holes with Stainless bolts and lock nuts is how I like to do things like this.

    I got this as a gift and I'm waiting for nicer weather to install it. Having watched a number of installation videos it seems everyone is down on their knees crawling under the camper just to put the hose in or take it out. Ending to the frame takes away a foot or so of storage and makes it hard to reach. I'm looking into making a brace that will allow the opening to be out to the side just as my dump connector is located. I have the one that extends to 94" so it should work at least for the one side I will be accessing the hoses from. Has anyone made any such modifications?

    • @tomscruggs2137

    Our 5th wheel came with a half version of that but as you said 1 hose isn’t enough so we added that same mod and are able to keep 2 hoses connected together in 1 tube. That gives us 3 total hoses in the tubes. Great storage. Great install.
