How to calculate Cv without Delata P? Could you please explain? During the Control valave selection we don't have Pressure drop across control valve value?

suppose a valve have 12.91 but cv 12 ur taken and overflow is more than 12.91 then how it helpful to controlling the valve

I would not have chosen the maximum flow valve Cv=12, if there is no other specification, the valve will not have sufficient capacity for the application.

Same calculation for gas, steam and fluid flow ?
Why valve size depends on cv?

      Hello Senthil
Yes, It should be the same calculation. However, you need to change specific gravity of fluid for different fluids.

Valve providers let you use Cv charts o data base. In addition mosto of them let you use theri sizing software on line or let you download the sizing software

You should not pick a valve size with less cv then the calculated cv, incorrect.
