Jimmy Page and BLUES, not really traditional …

As a guitar player from the 70s, obviously Jimmy page was one of the hallmark guys we were listening to and you had to study it as well as the other British monsters … Clapton, Alvin Lee, Peter Green, Jeff Beck,, etc. etc. for some strange reason through the years .. in the many bands and sessions through the years…, I never covered a “Led Zeppelin”song,, played songs from all the others, but Page was so  intimidating a guitar player because everything he did was different than the traditional flavors coming out of England .. just enough to throw off all the American guitar players Being schooled by the British blues invasion ,, early stuff that Paige recorded had more traditional directions but as he was maturing he definitely was moving to the untraditional way of interpreting the blues …. Copying some of those songs by Page was somewhat fruitless because, there’s no way to copy ,,, a near perfect “Rembrandt” painting.. you could interpret it .. but kind of a waste of time trying to copy it..
…… So the best you can do is simply use it to learn from .. and be inspired by,,! So now I look at Jimmy Page’s blues songs all these years later and they are still so inspiring, so beautiful..
. this video is just me having some wonderful moments this morning after hearing some Led Zeppelin, again,, I’ll never try to copy .. I could never play like that , so I try to just pay tribute in my own way .. which is what I try to do,, if nothing else .. it’s a joy to play …
I know there’s millions of players out there, guitar players that feel the same way I do,, mesmerized by Jimmy page maybe learned from him, but no one can really copy !!!!
