New bearings, new synchros, check all gears for wear, adjust shifter linkage -- That's a restoration. Hard work, and requires a ton of know-how.
A lot of increased longevity can be had from a thorough disassembly and a good cleaning. Well done guys.
When you sandblast something like this or an engine you gotta make sure you clean the part extremly well afterwards. A few particles of sand can destroy a transmission or an engine. Also never hammer a new bearing onto a shaft use an arbor press or even a vise.
Before you start disassembling---pressure wash the dirt off the equipment---.

I love the last gasket made from a Disneyland magazine paper.

Soon available on EBay as a fully “restored” 4speed. Didn’t appear to be rebuilt though. I guess there a difference.

For some strange reasons sand blasting and through that removing dead and old paint of any component/part is highly SATISFYING, who all agree with me 🙏
Not that I'm defending him, but those transmission's are pretty bulletproof and looked to be in very nice shape so a rebuild most likely wasn't needed and the cleanup he did was great! Restoration no, but don't forget the language barrier. Good enough for a thumbs up from me.

И полтора ляма просмотров)) Даже в названии не исправили на 5 ступку! Втулку в кулисе также не меняли. Забили половой орган на всё.

@14:15 the screw on the left holding the wheel grinder down to the table is unscrewing as you are cleaning the bolts. Might wanna secure that better.

For all the Would be restorers and rebuilders out there, Camrys are Front Wheel drive Vehicles. That gearbox is from a rear wheel drive vehicle. There are those for whom rear wheel drive vehicles are different from front wheel drive vehicles. Applies in every country. Additionally, rebuilds of mechanical equipment customarily entail slightly different procedures to those displayed in this Utube video. just my two bits worth.

StrayCat that's right. But! It has to be gasket material and NOT printer paper which they used. I watch this video through my 85" television and you can clearly see it is regular paper.

Please use a torque wrench. An impact wrench into alloy is too dangerous.
More of a We took apart a transmission cleaned it up painted it and put it back together
Check the syncro clearance, the bearing run-out, the wear on the shifting forks... no? No just paint the part that will be covered in shit on its first drive. The gasket to the bellhousing sums it up!
I’ll bet that screwy ass impact was “restored” to, that does not sound good at all

Don’t take it too seriously. You may have your own high standard comprehension of the word Restoration, but the meaning of Restore, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary, is simply “to bring back something to use”. These guys did a good job on this old gear box.

If you use muriatic acid mixed with water, the use a hard bristle brush it will clean aluminum really fast. I washed aluminum truck trailers are turned out great😁👍

Just to add to what everyone else has already said, but this is just a clean and reseal. Nothing was repaired, nothing was replaced. Not a restoration. It SaYs ReStOrAtIoN, nOt ReBuIlD. Yeah, that's what a restoration is, dumbasses. What I used to do was restoration, total strip and rebuild. This is just a fancy cleaning.

1. Not every bolt should be screwed in with an impact wrench.. do you even know what a torque wrench is?
2. What are those gaskets?
3. The music is painfully annoying
The condition is like a new gear set, just out of the spare parts shop
A tool company needs to sponsor them and hook them up with new hand and power tools and definitely a sand blasting booth of some kind.
