I used to request this song on some reaction channels about 1.5 years ago .. glad someone finally reacted to this! This is a very underrated group. The guitar playing is some of the tastiest I've heard in the genre. Good stuff!

Seventh Wonder's magnum opus "The Great Escape" is along these lines. Check it out if you have time! - although I understand your hesitancy in listening to longer pieces (the great escape clocks in at around 30mins...) - king of whitewater/the angelmaker might be more suited as a first listen.
Otherwise, nice reaction, DGM is one of the few bands that has kept me interested in "traditional metal/power prog" in recent years. Good choice.

I love DGM. My favorite album by them is Momentum! Also, they are about to come out with a new album! You need to check out other melodic progressive metal. Seventh Wonder, Circus Maximus, and Pagan's Mind all need to be heard! Seventh Wonder's Mercy Falls album changed the way I looked at music. It's amazing all the way through!

Feel like I've seen the name but never listened to them. Very talented but your breakdown as usual on page with mine! I hope they offer a little more uniqueness too because it was a pretty straightforward smash of dt and symphony x this particular song imo. Not bad though!
Got the next group just having issues picking which song. Luckily only 2 of their songs even go over 7 minutes XD
I just have to decide since in all likely hood it'll be a one shot and done reaction do i go for something accessible, or push some boundaries and see if your feathers ruffle lolll

Pulling the trigger. My favorite song of theirs and other accessible ones all have reactions, this one doesn't, and will probably be torture to some of your audience, but variety is the spice of life baby. I don't know if the video would get blocked or not so maybe in editing take precaution. I'm sure I'll remind you again ;)

Hehe I wasn't expecting you to cover it so soon. I was fairly certain you'd like it. The whole Passage album is great. I suggested this song cause it showcases a lot of the awesomeness, the songwriting, melodies, softer parts, heavier parts... I think only the last 2-3 albums are with the current lineup. Another band you'll probably like is "Pagan's Mind" - God's Equation, United Allience, Live your life like a dream, walk away in silence are all good songs that come to mind. P.S. you did Ayreon previously, you should cover "Star One - Digital Rain" (featuring Russell Allen and other awesome singers) since you like the Matrix.

The thing with this ending is that it's actually directly linked to the next song "The Secret (Part II)" in the album. That's why it could sound a little bit abrupt and lacking of climax.

I have yet to discover more of this group (or at least listen again since I have their 2013 opus "Momentum") that I find good but generic, well-made but not surprising. At least this particular song "The Secret" is very interesting and well-written as you said it, even for a first-time 15 minutes song listening. To make the connection with Symphony X, Michael Romeo is featured in the song "Dogma" from the same album and Russell Allen brings his powerful voice contribution to the title "Reason" from the Momentum album.
All things being said, since you're asking, I still have this particular request, especially if you want to "keep your brain stimulated", with Symphony X - Awakenings, once again with the following link czcams.com/video/j8FqXWw1kpo/video.html (and not the more popular one since it has this cut towards the end) and being 8:21 long, it should fit right in your invested dispositions ;-)
