I think the advent of game streaming and the subsequent increase in popularity of gameplay videos on CZcams has been really good for devs, especially smaller ones. For basically the price of one copy of their game they can get some beta testing, feature and gameplay commentary and advertising all at the same time. And it's great when people like Matt still are more than happy to play the game just as it is and don't get all haughty by only doing so if they're being sponsored or whatever. For all the certain parts of the gamer community can be toxic AF sometimes, I think overall we still manage to be a decent bunch of folks and it's very nice to see.
I think Matt trying out the game before offcam really adds a lot to these episodes

@@grubbernut5862 In all fairness it does Kinetic damage and looks like a pistol......if you didn't know about Evil Dead and/or play a good amount of fps/shooters and/or didn't read the whole weapon description you probably wouldn't just know a boomstick is an established slang name for a shotgun. (yea I realize that's a lot of and/or, but I'm 99% sure one or all of them apply in this situation :P)

For an engineer you seem to struggle a lot with the simple math of additive increases to your damage factor and the multiplicative increase of not just critical chance but also critical damage.
Already, I hope to see two extra things in this game.
1. Some sort of endless mode, because I dont like being limited in my survival time
2. Punishment for missing the extraction that isn't just a game over. We didnt see what happens in this video, but I'd like to see that you have to survive another minute or two against an insane horde while you wait for the next extraction.
Bravo Developers. I haven't played DRG itself but I have watched others play it and this is a very solid rouge lite that keeps true to the lore, I am impressed.

It would be really nice if the Mactera in Survivor acted like they normally do in the original game (spitting acid at you), like the Spitball Infectors (which were pretty spot on to the ordinary ones you can find in DRG).

@ people who play this: would a crafting menu be a good idea for this game? Like, at some point you can decide to use some of the resources you mine to craft a health kit, or a temporary boost (like a tonic to augment you mining speed and such)?
I feel like it would be a decent way to differentiate the game from others in the genre, but I'm not sure
Every game at this point has some sort of crafting menu... it won't make it more unique

Here's a fun fact for ya: Another way to say "thousand" is "grand," right? So instead of "M One Thousand," it's "M One Grand," and because RCE also called the boomstick a pistol I'm just gonna say it: The M1000 is referencing the M1 Garand Rifle.
