  • Bryan (@bcapphoto) goes in-depth on the five features he loves when shooting with the FUJIFILM GFX mirrorless camera.
We go in the field, on a portrait session to see Bryan's location shoot workflow, in-camera settings and techniques.
Bryan also shows us how he uses some easily accessible plugins to make his post production workflow super fast.
This episode is all about optimizing the way you shoot so you can focus on the relationship you're building with your subject.

How on earth such an interesting 'class' can pass more or less unnoticed is baffling.
Well done, Bryan. I'll be coming back and homing in on various parts of this for some pointers about using this extraordinary camera. I am principally a jpeg shooter, very much into getting it right in camera and not interested in post processing except minimally.
    Many thanks 👍

If you u want full sized non compressed images from you fugi camera that match what you took in camera with ex and ct film simulation and color adjustments, just use fugi x-raw to create TIFFs. They will match the jpgs exactly at full rez and file size. The adobe film simulators are not the same thing I have compared all of them side by side, they are closeish, but no more than that, fugi does it way better. Just start with what you actually made, makes life way easier.

Nice! Good video. Is there a way to apply JPEG adjustments to the RAW file in Capture One?

This is genius. Tell me something the XLR plugin i didnt really get that bit. Do you have to make a preset of your own that looks like the simulation in the camera to apply it later through XLR or does the XLR program know what acros is and what classic chrome is? Your workflow is my goal man loved the video :)

Interesting approach to shooting. I'd imagine that people require much more done to images, such as skin retouch, etc especially for engagement sessions.I'm surprised your clients don't/

I've always wondered why, after spending between £6000 and £9000 on a camera and 1 lens, this kind of shoot is used as an example? - surely from a business standpoint there is little money to be made from these kinds of shoots and it kinda defeats the purpose of using an expensive camera like the GFX when the returns would be so little? I get it that you're using it to demonstrate both the camera and its output, but who in their right mind is going to spend £9k on kit to shoot the girl next door?...maybe it's just me and I don't get it!...

Hey Andy! Totally get your point. This session was arranged for the purpose of making this video. As you can see, I did a lot more talking and teaching than I did shooting. I wouldn't want to have my media producer follow me around and be talking/teaching so much on an actual session with a paying client, which is why we arranged this. The subject matter is less important here in terms of the finished images, and more the thought process behind everything.
