Which Fight Pad is the Best?

  • I check out the Razer RAION the 8bitDo M30, the Hori Fighting Commander and the Power A Fusion fight pad. I give my opinions and thoughts on these and just fight pads in general for fighting games.
    I generally will use a pad for Mortal Kombat 11 online play because it feels like I can get moves and combos out faster than with a fightstick or a standard Dual Shock or Dual Sense.

    Just a heads up for people wanting to buy the razer, it will cancel your directional inputs bc if the micro switches. This can be an issue in games like SFV or where you’re holding down back and trying to do motion inputs while doing so, you’ll either get hit or won’t get your motion inputs at all. I imagine it’s a nightmare for charge characters too, but for NRS players this shouldn’t be an issue since block doesn’t require holding back/down-back

  • @MrSamuelAdam4
    @MrSamuelAdam4 Před 2 lety +2

    I every single one of these pads but the Razer one. Don't let the PowerA pad fool you. The build quality is not good for $60. It's hollow inside just like the Hori pad but fightpads don't need to weighty. It's just a board with buttons. The PowerA pad feels heavy because it uses magnets for the face plate & to weigh down the controller to make it feel like it's not made out of cheap crap. It actually is. I opened my PowerA pad up & I've seen other videos showing exactly what I found what was going on inside of it. It's a glorified $20 / $30 at best. It just looks & feels good & that's it.
    Depending on your hand size I would go with the Retro-Bit, 8BitDo, or the Hori controller. At least with the Retro-Bit you can use original parts Sega parts with it.

I'd even buy an adapter to make my M30 work on PS5/PS5 games if that existed but I don't think it does. Right now looks like my only option for fightpads is the Hori Commander Octa for PS5, but I've seen mixed reviews on the D-Pad and many saying you need to go into the PC software to adjust settings for it to work right. @@throwsnbrews9516 This also happens to Xbox one dpads. If you press the top croner of left and right, it drags the rest of the dpad upwards and up will get inputted with the other button.
      I have this issue where I'd randomly jump from doing dps. I've dealt with this for 5 years now, at this point I've come to a conclusion that it's not the player but the dpad's up button being that fucked up. Although I sound like a salty bitch I'm platinum at sfv but stopped playing rank cuz launge matches are more fun and I don't have to wait 1000 years for a laggy match. I regularly play with friends who are diamond and master ranks and often win. If I'm already at this level I just can't believe it's me and not the controller.

They just need to be cleaned bc the D-pad and buttons are pretty exposed. I’ve dropped em several times too on hard flooring and they both work fine. Theres a definite reason why tf it's called a "fightpad" it fills the specific niche for a controller, its like a "hitbox" being commonly called a "button box" or an "all button" controller. I have no clue why people get upsettey spaghetti that there are controller TAILORED for fighting games. Sure it's a 6 button controller but what's easier to say? And what is it meant for? Right it's Fighting games!

    I wish the gaming world would eliminate the term "Pad" from gaming terminology, and I have no idea how except to start here I suppose. I dont even know where everyone started using the term. If you didnt notice, he used the word twice in two different uh... Contexts. He calls it a "Fighting-pad" and the "D-Pad", do you see the lunacy in what hes got going on?
    What is a pad? A pad is well, a DIRECTIONAL PAD, a Dance Pad, and well..... A Maxipad. Eh.... So gamers want to refer to what they game on to a womens sanitary.... I digress.
    Look, lets clarify this here and now:
    Look at the front of a SEGA Genesis console where you have your two front inputs, what is that called? CONTROLLER 1 and CONTROLLER 2 port. Look in the users manuals. Even Nintendo calls theirs a Controller. Where "Pad" comes in is the Directional singular button which is actually called THE D-Pad or the DIRECTIONAL PAD. The rest of the device is called a CONTROLLER with a layout of buttons. What you use for issuing commands for your television is a REMOTE CONTROL. Therefore, a Gaming Controller is NEVER referred to as a remote either, though I never really hear that much BUT this GAMEPAD term needs to be scrubbed from out terminology. I think when and if I resume my CZcams Channel, Im gonna have to address this on a bigger scale and with more ears but, even from the beginning of time, its been called a controller. The Atari started using the JOYSTICK 🕹️ because it was just that, a variation of the arcade joystick, but you can hear in his speech he cant differentiate the two as easy. Fighting Pad and Pad.... What???? So the WHOLE device is a CONTROLLER and that 4-Directional button or 8-Directional Button is the D-pad.
    Alright, now that our terminology is clear, on with it.
