D'AWWW. That old man's cosplay at 5:19 from UP is just adorable.
He was a great find. Very charming man. You can't see it in the shot but he also had the cane with the golf balls on the bottom.
EVERYONE! Thank you. I'm overwhelmed. Thank you for all your incredibly kind comments. What is beautiful about this episode are the people that are in it. This is their show.
This is such a great reminder as to why we all stay in this hobby...it's the love and support. Thank you c:
Cosplay Boom Your videos always makes me cry... this one especially... it's so beautiful and it shows so many different reasons why people get into cosplaying. There are endless stories why we do what we do and every single story is touching... Thank you for these great videos ❤
Thank you so much, Todd and Meagan. Truly inspirational and captures the heart of why we cosplay. A fantastic production that bodes well for the future of this series. Thank you again for taking the time to photograph and including me (Rinzler at RCCC) in this beautiful video!
This is amazing! Cosplay is about being ourselves and empowering ourselves with the characters we become, it's wonderful. Can't wait for the other videos.
The first time I met you and the other cosplayers at PAX Prime YEARS ago is why I wanted to create this project in the first place. I think wearing your Garus' mask is what broke me.
Thanks for linking me hurr Holleh!
Such a fantastic documentary
Not only that. Cosplay can also be helpful for people with depression, loneliness and who lack self confidence. So it has a more or less large therapeutic component in it.
Dah! I can't believe that I was so fortunate to be in this video. You all have done an amazing job, and it's great to see that you included such a wide variety of cosplayers in this; not just those who are 'cosfamous' but everyone in between. I can not wait to see the next video and will be spreading the word of Boom!
I had to go back and watch this again because everyone's so wonderful and inspiring. I can't get over how well this project has turned out.
Thank you Ash :) Thank you for being a part of it.
Amazing job conveying the human story behind cosplay! Goosebumps
I loved the Grandpa doing "UP"
He's my father-in-law I'll be sure to pass your comment on!
This is my favorite non-music cosplay video. Very well done and heart touching!
All the best, C.
It says something about the culture that the over-arcing inspiration for cosplayers is "the nerdy, introverted, outcast artist that loves to play dress up". The girl who says "MY PEOPLE!" is on the nose with that sentiment.
This is beautiful and I love this portrayal of cosplayers so much. ♡♡
This is such a great video. I really hope that you and this video gets the recognition that it deserves for all the hard work put into it.
Thank you so much. It is comments like that, that keep us going.
Hearing all these stories made me think of my own and how similar it is and how much I connect with these people from just watching the video
I used to be a street performer. I love this stuff.
All the cosplayers where really good but loved the girl cosplaying as Tinkerbell from Hook, she looks amazing and her personality speaks a lot from herself, she seems like a really nice and easy going person. I think I will start going to conventions on the U.S. would love to meet people like her.
This is really awesome. I'm only 13 but now I think Ill start trying cosplay, although I have no Idea how to make stuff. But life finds a way! Thanks guys!
Wow that Jinx, is like looking at the artwork XD
Love love love this! I need to make more costumes.... very inspiring stories and art! The many stories about being an awkward picked on nerd kid really resonated with me too, time to go look up the next convention in my area and meet these people!
This is wonderful and really made me think why did i get into cosplay and what have i gotten out of it. Hope you get what you need to do more films and would love you to come to the UK to feature us Brit cosplayers!
We would love to come to the UK! Hopefully we raise enough on Patreon to be able to get there.
Such an amazing video! Beautiful stories and costumes/props ^_^
Really enjoyed this! I can't wait to see more.
This video just clicks with me and makes me smile. Thank you.

Thank you so much! You really should try it out, there are so many resources out there to help you get your start!
Amazing video!
Thank you Brittany!
The Thinkerbell girl at 8:05 have a beautiful attitude! :)
Good job!!!
The only somewhat sad thing about this wonderful half hour of interesting people is the fact that many cosplayers feel a need to justify doing something fun and having a good time, why can't everyone just appreciate creativity?
Hi Kapten. Thank you for the kind words about the episode! Wasked what people were like growing up and what influenced them and then we asked what got them into cosplay. We have an entire other episode about the fun of being a cosplayer.
These are great, and constructed so well too! May I ask what equipment you use to shoot on?
Thanks!
Hi.
iám a german cosplayer, and i must said, its so amazing.
nice work and the cosplayer in this video are all so beautiful.
i love this video and i hope, a many german cosplayer want to see this video and see, what cosplay is.
thank you for this video.
Thank you for your incredibly kind words Rabbit, hopefully we get to make it out to Germany next year to cover a convention!
Liking this in the insight to how cosplayers came into doing cosplay. Wouldn't mind seeing more. 17:16 - love his costume (anyone know what he is portraying there?)! 21:13 - impressive armored group. As a shy introvert myself, I think I can understand more fully why cosplay tugs at me. As an artist, the beauty cosplay presents in so many forms is amazing. The music that follows this video is lovely and I must applaud the emotion it provokes.
He's a Skyrim Dragon Cultist. There's a bit more info on the accompanying Forbes article.
I'm Kronk at 4:33 BTW.

Thank you... and awesome.. think it's cool that you support your daughters cosplay, and joined in.
Thanks for saying. We have a lot of fun. I've always told both of them I don't care what you choose to do (music, sports, art, etc) just passionately go for and I'll support you.
coregeeknet I may be grown up, but after stumbling upon 'cosplay' due to a game I play and the Blizzcon they do almost annually, I'm scouting out outfits to design and make. First step - learning to sew. If Yaya Han started out not sewing, then so can I! lol
museluvr You definitely can! Give it a shot age is no matter.
YAY FEORANNA
コスプレきまってますね^^
外国の方って何のキャラでも絵になるのでうらやましい
これからもいろんな動画楽しみにしてます:D
We wan't to do more international conventions which is why we are running a campaign on Patreon www.patreon.com/cosplayboom so we can travel to South Korea, China and Japan and the rest of Europe.
Who is the girl at 7:55?
twitter.com/Skirtzzz
She does Let's Plays with us, She's awesome!
so no one gonna talk about 6:18
Would love to cosplay but there are not many rotund characters that are interesting and I am terrible at making anything creative.
Ask the community, don't let your shape keep your from doing cosplay. You can do anything you set your mind to.
