  • On our round trip on the Greek mainland we also visited the city of Vergina (formerly Aigai). Here is a museum of the royal tombs of the Macedonian Empire and parents of Alexander the Great. The burial chambers of Philip II and Meda are recognized by Unesco as a World Heritage Site. The museum offers a unique insight into the burial chambers and the treasures found there in their original location. After visiting Vergina, we continued south-west, stopping in Kozani for lunch.
