My Lobo is one awesome machine and highly recommend it for gold prospecting. My smallest nugget was found at 2-3 inches deep and only weighed 1.5 grains! Yes, GRAINS! I've found .1 grammars at 5 inches but you have to go slow and keep the coil on the ground and listen to what the machine is telling you. Hunt gold in all metal, normal soil and sensitivity to as high as ground will let you and keep threshold at just audible and you'll find lots of gold. Auto ground tracking is king.

LST is also king at finding gold jewelry on beaches, but keep the housing dry and away from any water.

Tesoro made some great detectors. In my opinion the best was the Tejon, the Lobo ST, the Vaquero, the Cibola, and the Outlaw. I like the Mojave too, but it won't go as deep as those others I mentioned. Too bad Tesoro went out of business in October of 2018. I wish someone with some money would buy their intellectual property and dyes and start it up again, but it doesn't look like its going to happen. I think the life time warranty was eating up too much of their time and profit and then there were the Minelab Nox's and the Simplexes along with the XP Deus that everyone started buying. Then Whites went out of business and Garrett bought up their intellectual property. I think the security market for Garrett machines at airports and other places keeps them in business. Buy American. Please someone with the big bucks buy up Tesoro and put them back on the market.

Lovely detector but I found myself that the pinpointing was way out on it. The target was always a few inches away from where it started to sound off. Put me off it big time. Don't know if it needed calibrating somehow - didn't keep it long enough to find out.

I own both.I think for prospecting the gold bug 2 kicks its butt.picks up tiny bird shot.

Sounds wonderful Keith.I can never get coins over 8 inches deep in black dirt in disc mode, can get gold rings at 12 inch in All Metal tho, using the 9x8 coil. Can you email me on this Mod of yours? Or tell us which Pot to play with? Thanks.Tom V.

Hi, Can you show which pot you tweaked please? I've seen a LoboST for a couple of hundred bucks and it would be worth it with your mod. Many thanks
