I'm sorry if you like the repetitive, cheesy "SHOM SHOM" present in the whole OST. Compared to his Mission, Orca, Once Upon West/America, Dollars Trilogy, The Thing etc soundtracks, it's weak as hell. Usually I get annoyed when great soundtracks are barely known, but it makes sense that the Dynamite OST is barely known. SHOM SHOM, SHOM SHOM. Overly dramatic, terrible vocals (with the SHOM SHOM), dull as white paint.
FranticAnimations If you think that the famous Untouchables soundtrack is terrible, you need to see a doctor, because clearly something is wrong with you.

The reason I love this so much is because unlike Megan Trainor, Taylor Swift, or Justin Bieber, this is real music. It's so genuinely beautiful that it makes even the ugliest things seem elegantly beautiful. It'll make you realize that even after the worst of storms comes a rainbow. It will make you forget the bad things and put your focus on the beauty that is soon to come. I'm thankful for it.

There is no label for Divine Creation, but sometimes we capture the essence and how we might serve it. Morricone did that here.

Da kann man nur zustimmen. Ennio war wirklich ein Komponist mit diesem besonderen Talent, mit seiner Inspiration sich direkt mit unseren tiefsten Gefühlen in Verbindung zu setzen. Und wenn, in einem Film, eine seiner Melodien vorkommt, empfindet man sofort, ob da etwas dramatisches passiert, oder ob es eher um etwas fröhliches, oder sogar "glorreiches" handelt. Er war halt so.
Natürlich gibt's auch andere Soundtracks, von verschiedenen Musikern(zB. manches was Georges Delerue, Hans Zimmer, und auch John Barry, Howard Shore, Harry Gregson-Williams, Vangelis, usw. komponiert haben).
Und da sieht man, wie aus einem "guten Film", ein Meisterwerk werden kann, weil dazu eine angepasste Musik geschrieben wurde. Ohne diese, wär ein sehr berühmter Film leider ziemlich unbemerkt geblieben.
Lack of Oscar for this magnificent score is beyond me. Sums up Ennio's beautiful variety, besides his fantastic Western scores. Pleasure to see him last year in London
It's because this theme is just mainly repeated throughout the score and not really among Morricone's top 10 scores. The oscar went to Herbie Hancock that year for a much more musical and complex score. It is what it is, but thankfully morricone finally got two Oscars

This music hits a personal spot because this was my grandmas favorite movie and she passed away listening to the soundtrack
This is incredible and truely divine music during listening to which I first ever had mystical experience of God's resurrecting in my heart in December 2016 after years of living in mortal sins, first ever making decision to start living God's Will, at God's plan for my life, not mine, as I ruined my life living my own will. His Mercy and pure Father's Love fulfilled entirely my heart and soul listening to this music at my friends' home and at their presence, making me crying and worshiping the PUREST GOD'S LOVE. He took all my fear away from me then, literally pulled me out of the mouth of the demons I served, and he filled the place in my heart with His unconditional Love and Presence. Even the title of this is "On earth as it is in heaven", Let Your Glory and Mercy shine forever in Jesus, the Son of God!!!

I remember my English teacher showing us this after we learned about the age of exploration, and said that he didn't care if all the students forgot about this film and totally ignored it, as long as he could just move one student, he would be happy.

You learned SOME things about the age of exploration. But, not everything.
I saw this movie when I was a kid. I don't think I fully understood it because I was so young, but I wasn't totally oblivious. Years later, I watched it again, and it hit pretty hard. It was such a good movie, but, but it takes an emotional toll on you. I want to watch it again, but I can't watch it again any time soon, you know what I mean? 1492: Conquest of Paradise was another film like that. Such a bright, heavy light shown on the indescribable treatment of the indigenous peoples.

How could they not give an Oscar to this immortal MASTERPIECE.
This music is just too good to win an Academy Award. The Academy probably didn't understand it because I didn't have a simple hook line.
My favorite film of all time is a whole different story: "The Mission" with the Jesuit priests going as missionaries high into the mountains of South America in the 18th century, trying to end slavery, protecting the indigenous and working for their safety and their freedom, with Jeremy Irons, Liam Neeson and Robert De Niro in 1986.
Real Spanish Colonial Architecture in the time of the reign of the Spaniards and others, so Archways are right up there in this time period. Real drama, action, soul, morality, politics, bloodshed and war. Which one wins? Of course, we all know the answer to that one: Human Nature, in all it's brutality and glory.
I watched this film in 1986 when it first came out, when I was living in France. It won the Palm d'Or (the Golden Palm), one of the highest film awards in Canne, with a terrific movie soundtrack we all listened to over and over.
Changed my life, as I was both Jeremy Irons AND Robert de Niro.

Same as you. As a teenager in Hong Kong, I saw this moive in 1986. It changed all my mindset in religion and help me to join the trip in exploring meaning of life in the following decades. Really thanks for the great composer Ennio Morricone. His work will never die in all mankind.
