Glad to see lots of folks here recognizing Chris Bear's drumming. I love the contributions of all four members, but he is truly a distinctive propellant force that pulls it all together. A touch of avant-garde nuance and lots of unique, playful rhythm.
This song is so damn good! No guitar, great understated drumming, singers' voices fit the smoothness of the piano right, interesting movement keeps you in. One of the best songs I've heard in a while. Now tied with Blue Ridge Mountains by Fleet Foxes in my book as the two best songs out right now. And these guys did it with a live performance!
This has been such a special song to me for over 7 years. I think it's safe to say Two Weeks is definitely one of my all time favorite tunes ever. It's perfection and makes my insides feel warm n fuzzy :D
I played this and my son was about 8 months and when it was finished he sighed like he was upset it was finished and I played it again and he smiled, he's 4 now and he asks me to play this most nights before he sleeps.
@@isaacfisher2482 I’d be extremely surprised if this was true. Most bands start playing at small venues and this is their most week known song , highly doubt their first time playing it was at Letterman’s
I was in the audience for this song! It was even more amazing live! I can't wait for the studio version. I hope they keep it very similar sounding to this amazing live version.
@@TheHallOfTally The album version is excellent, but nothing compares to the feeling of hearing something completely new for the first time and loving it instantly. What a memory!
Going back and watching some of these performances, I learned that Dave was very influential in growing the success of some of the great indie bands and other genre based musicians of my childhood and so many others. Thank you Mr. Letterman.
I found my Dad died from suicide while I had this song playing through my headphones.. luckily it’s one of my favorite songs but while I listen to it I can’t help but think of my Dad.
I love this performance! The lead singer's stage vibe and even his appearance reminds me of Sameer Gahdia (spelling?) from Young the Giant, which is another great indie band that's kind of like these guys. Oh, you indie heartthrobs
I love how every member of Grizzly Bear is multi-talented. It seems like every live video I watch, they're playing different instruments. And they all have angelic voices. lol. An amazing band, no doubt about it.
Ughh, I love them. Wow. This is so stunningly beautiful. Kiddos to you guys. Keep doing your thing. Wow, god. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ His voice... The instrumentation... We need this.
that extra keyboard part is great. makes me sad that it's not as prominent on the album version. very good performance. Ed's vocals are wonderful as usual..
There's a split moment at around the 2:00 mark where they are juuuuust about to start pulling the tempo, and correct themselves, as a band, in that single beat, and it's just fucking insaaaane! As a drummer, we can sometimes find our bodies naturally stop ourselves from rushing the beat, and it's just so damn pro to see the whole band do it! This is a really tricky tempo to sustain for a whole song too!
Oh wow I really couldn’t even hear it until after I listened to that section like 4 or 5 times, good catch. Did you feel like the keyboard was somewhat causing that? Not to blame him specifically, just something I noticed.
'Grizzled Bear'. I am not trying to be a grammar nazi, just thought it was funny. And yes, they are amazing!!! I would recommend their song called Gun-Shy.
yeh, no doubt. this tracks got a very pet sounds vibe to it, the thing I find notable about this track is the crazy syncopated drumming and arpeggiated keyboard parts.
I can't believe they never showed a close-up of the drummer. He's the best part of that song...
Soo how's your life sir after almost 13 years?
Fr they showed like 12 shots of the dude swirling his finger on the omnichord
@@rodrigohernandez2261 you got 20 likes in three months so I feel like this video must be popping off
Holy fuck it has been forever, but not a bad in way for the first 10 years
OMG true fact, the percussion IS the best in this song lol my favorite 😍
This was when late 2000s Indie was at the peak of its powers. Been binging GB again lately.
Cant believe how good this sounds live
that drummer being so locked in and also doing backup vocals.. incredible dude
Finally, the perfect voice, the recipe for nostalgia.
His voice is similar to McCartney's

Ah hearing you mention Blue Ridge Mountains; both these bands defined my high school years.

This is the best band of our modern era. No question, hands down, undisputed.

A very unique song. Always brings me back to a time in my life.
How did Letterman not comment on these drums?!
Very happy that a group as this one take over of the good groups and a music style which we'd had at the end of 70 ', at the beginning of 80 '.
Piano guy reminded me of the cat playing piano.
Singer reminded me of the Mexican actor Chespirito.
you remind me of why misanthropy exists.
Erling Haaland's almost as good on bass as he is at scoring goals
This song is so vintage it always sounds so refreshing
You know you have a great singer when he sounds just like the recordings in the studio
those were some sickly awesome vocal harmonies. amazing band
What a great song. It makes me feel like waking up to a rainy day outside and just hangin out indoors with no worries.

Love the drums in this song. Very eclectic band!
Letterman hired the right sound dude
I feel bad for the drummer, Letterman didnt even shake his hand
not on camera anyways
Dude did one of the most slaughtering grooves on a track in history and got no respect.
So true BUT should we be all that surprised David can be a douch lol
