@@graylife7520 Now to be fair if I was the writter for the series I would have included one more episode to conclude the series. Ash and Pikachu return alone to home. Suddenly they come across (again) a bunch of Pikachus and they befriend Ash's Pikachu. Team Rocket as always they attempt to steal them. Suddenly out of nowhere a Thunderstone appears. Pikachu who for years he refused to get envolved he grabs very bravely without a second thought the Thunderstone turning into a Raichu. With his new power he manages easily to free the Pikachus and sending Team Rocket blasting off again. Later at sunset Raichu explains to Ash that he has to stay to protect the other Pikachus. Ash agrees and after a tearfull goodbye he sees silently for a last time his best friend to getting away in the sunset

Let's Plays, PKMN Theories, and More The reason ash never won conference leagues back in the day is because writers wanted to keep him around for marketing. Never understood after Gen 3 because he had the experience. They could’ve atleast progress to win and lose to elite 4 trainers.
Who else misses Volt Tackle on pikachu? It was honestly my favorite move of his.
Electro web is more useful now, it can be use for attack and defense even in some different situation.

Agree, Trip isn't that good at first, and his character doesn't seem attractive to make a great comparison with Ash like Paul, only pure pride.
It's frustrating since Ash is rebooted to newbie after literally beating legendary Pokemon and Paul being the best rival since Gary. But then we get ash being defeated by a newbie trainer who is Basically Paul light with a level 1 snivy. Then later gets owned again and again despite Pikachu getting his power back. While Paul had been through many regions like ash trip is literaly a green horn how is he beating Pikachu? He beat a latios?

An update is needed. Ash vs Kukui was an epic spectacle and one of the best battles in the series, and he WON in spectacular fashion, one of his biggest victories! It proved he is a real, legit Champion rather than a fraud.

Exactly.. That was the best I have seen...ash vs Paul also good, it was about strategies. But vs kukui, it was a mix of strategy, style, flare, will power etc.
S AHAMED THAWFEEQ I disagree. Ash vs Paul had a build up of the direct contrast between their training styles and how they viewed their Pokémon. Ash’s fundamental belief in what makes a Pokémon strong would be devastated if he lost to someone who not only didn’t care for their Pokémon, but in some instances borderline abused them. This had an emotional stake that Ash vs Kukui couldn’t match
@@arunnumapathy7003 honestly for me both have their own emotional stakes but for different reasons. Ash vs Paul is ideals in Pokémon where Paul primarily was on the Pokémon’s raw strength, Ash basically went with the power of friendship which does tests Ash philosophy on being a trainer as unlike many of Ash rivals, every time the two fought, Paul always won with Lake Acuity being the battle we see where it broke Ash spirit and there after we see Ash adapt into a better trainer with the Sinnoh League being an example of rather than just using his sinnoh Pokémon he opted to use his other Pokémon for once. Not only that but the one part that made the rivalry work was chimchar because we saw him go from a small Pokémon that would constantly be put down by Paul to eventually evolving into Infernape and then taking Paul out in the sinnoh league and that’s a reason why ash and Paul’s final bout is one of the best, because if infernape lost it just proved Paul right which is why it made Ash win over Paul the more satisfying.
As for ash and kukui it is not one where it test trainer philosophy but more on the relationship between the two. From the first episode, we see Kukui and Ash have a bond that can be described as that of father-son since Kukui was like a father figure to Ash, not only that but throughout the series we also see ash hold admiration for the Masked Royal(Kukui in disguise) who is probably Alola’s strongest trainer and Ash even fought alongside and against him in several occasions so when the exhibition match came after Ash won the league to be against the Masked Royal but later Kukui got exposed, it was then that the match was Ash vs Kukui and it was basically Ash going up against not only his idol but also his father-figure. Like I said earlier, the two battles hold emotional weight but for two different reasons, Ash vs Paul was the one that tested ash philosophy in raising his Pokémon and Kukui vs Ash was him goi against his idol but also father-figure. Which is better, that is up for preference and personally Ash vs Paul but Kukui vs Ash is one of my favorite battles in the series especially since in both battles we see Ash at his strongest points as a trainer.

Miraculous Critique Like who is even Tobias, he just shows up with a legendary team from nowhere
Ash adopting Paul's abandoned Chimchar is one of my all-time favorite moments in the anime! Especially considering that Ash later beat Paul with the evolved Fire-Type and thus showing that treating your Pokémon with love, kindness, respect & friendship will make them even more powerful!

because charizard did the same he evolved to quickly was still a dick. but still ended up becoming his best pokemon to date. boasting immense power.
Its less that treating your Pokemon with kindness, respect, and all that friendship is magic stuff makes them more powerful and more that a pokemon's growth depends on how well they can adapt to the method of training.
Chimchar could never adapt to Paul's more harsh training, but was able to adapt easily to Ash's style.
Wrong. Monferno/Infernape was still loyal and obeyed Ash after evolving. Tepig/Pignite was also abandoned and grew stronger thanks to Ash. Even defeated his former trainer.

Genwunners will understand how special it was for Ash to finally beat Gary. To have been waiting for that moment since the very start of Ash's journey, it may as well have been the series finale for a lot of us.
I still think Ash vs Paul was awesome, but his win vs Sawyer was pretty damn cool too.

He didn't have any move super effective against Alain, Water Shuriken doesn't count because Mega Charizard X is part dragon-type which is resistant to water-types, this makes water-type attacks neutral against Charizard
The only type advantage Greninja had was being resistant to fire-type moves (such as Blast Burn) but Blast Burn does a ton of damage and Greninja doesn't have very impressive defense

It was the highlight moment of seeing their long-standing rivalry end between the two, many clashes (Nidoqueen & Tauros, Heracross & Magmar, Arcanine & Snorlax) but most memorable was Blastoise and Charizard
I also like Ash winning the Orange Island League, against Drake's terrifying powerhouse Dragonite also memorable

@@stampoulisrafail7836 it was a 2v2 and a 3v3. I don't even think that counts. Plus, Sawyer had a ton of strong Pokemon. Aegislash, Slacking, and Mega Sceptile are all tougher to beat than Golisopod, Scizor, Zororah(?), and Lycanrock. His only real challenge in this tournament was Silvally, and even that is something he could have beaten easily with most of his other teams. The Alola league low-key sucks.

Hey, Ash and Pikachu defeat Surge and his Raichu was a pretty good battle too. Not only was it Ash's first 'official' gym win, but Pikachu managed to prove that evolution isn't everything. Kind of a shame neither battle got an honorable mention.

I think these are supposed to be his biggest wins like...story/plot wise, not exactly 'good battles' but battles that meant a lot to win...I mean hell they put his Alola region victory at #1 and the fight itself was traaaaash, but the victory was his biggest moment.

I know, with mega Charizard X, Charizard becomes a dragon type, and dragon type neutralizes water-type weakness, but HEY Blast Burn is not that effettive against water types.

@@sleepyguy6201 yeahh, a strong ass plot armor, it's charizard literally battled and took damage from ash's pikachu (which is super effective) before it battled greninja (who is a water type and fire type moves shouldn't be that effective against it) but it still won, sure he's strong but I'm gonna say the plot armor carried him to victory, and don't even get me started by saying Alan and it's Charmander trained really hard, pshhh nahhh, it's just another *if ash wins this then he'll be champion so let's nerf pikachu like pikachu didn't go through other league battles and took down legendary pokemons with it's awesomeness, oh and let's give ash's opponent a power boost and plot armor* type of stuff, if you asked me ash would've been the Kalos and Alola champion by now if we're here stating facts
