An excellent overview. However a clear timeline of actual reversals and the much more frequent reductions and re-establishments of the Earth's magnetic fields without undergoing a change in orientation would have been most helpful here, so everyone can watch it and still get a good night's sleep. Also, hidden in this discussion, is evidence that the Earth has Earth spots just as the Sun has Sun spots. (Obviously they don't manifest themselves as dark spots on the Earth's surface which, thankfully, is covered by the protective layer of rock and water upon which we and other life forms live!)

I know exactly why pole shits occur. Our solar system is traveling around the Milky Way Galaxy. Our Solar System’s path is on an angle with the Milky Ways equator. Which means, our Solar System crosses the equator of the Milky Way Galaxy at least twice for every revolution. So, compasses always point towards the black hole at the center of the galaxy. Right now, it just happens that compasses point towards the North Pole. Magnetic north moves as our Solar System moves through the Milky Way Galaxy. It’s the black hole at the center of Milky Way Galaxy, that’s holds the galaxy together. It’s what holds out Solar System in the galaxy.
I’ve always thought we are but a passing wave on the planet and that the earth will be around in a happy life giving state long after we’ve gone, we seem to think that we are here forever…….. Think again, just enjoy your time on the here and now.

This wouldn't have anything to do with the grand solar minimum. 400 year cycles and 6000 year supercedes would it.
Effect on earth might look like evaporating lakes and extreme drought in the summer or per has a polar vortex with relative temps in Texas -30 next week.
I think the difference in all the past pole reversals might be that we didn’t have nuclear power plants, so humans could survive(a small amount). I don’t see how life could survive one today, sadly. Hope I’m wrong.

One of my concerns is that the people who are currently running the world are pro-depopulation. I have doubts that they would lift a finger to help anyone prepare for such an event.

There is only so much that we humans can do to mitigate the effects of such a cosmic event. If the effects are severe enough, there is nothing we can do. This is why we must live each day as if it is our last and not take our lives for granted.
QUESTIONS: It has been claimed that the Earth's inner core dynamo effect generates the Earth's magnetic field. Okay then:
a. How can there be more than 1 North magnetic pole and more than 1 South magnetic pole at any one time at different locations on the Earth?
b. How can the Earth's inner core change directions and the spinning Earth not change directions?
c. If the dynamo effect is the only reason for a magnetic field being generated, and while the Sun has a primary magnetic field that flips about every 11 years (and why then does the Sun's magnetic field flip about every 11 years?), then why does the Sun have many more magnetic fields on it's surface that at times result in CME's? Seems that there is something more to magnetic field generation than we are being told.
d. Thought: "IF" modern science is correct that all matter (atoms and molecules) are made up of quarks, electrons and interacting energy, and that quarks and electrons are considered to be charged particles, each with their respective magnetic fields with them, and that when energy fields align they can add together, then isn't it more probable that magnetic fields emanate from aligned quarks and electrons in matter?
IF SO THEN:
1. What is the true cause of the Earth's magnetic field weakening?
2. What is the true cause of the Earth's magnetic field moving?
3. What is the true cause of the Earth's magnetic field periodically flipping?
4. Can we alter and increase as necessary, the magnetic field of other planets and moons so as to possibly make them more habitable for species? If so, how?

b. How come the Sun's magnetic field flip every 11 years or so does not affect the Earth's magnetic field in a more dramatic way? Something more internal inside the Earth seems to be going on.
