One quick question I have on watching your video is this: I noticed the negative YOY% values still have a positive bar chart. Is there a way to format this so that it appears as a negative value below the x - axis = 0? As it is, the measures take the initial dimension of sales - actual and isnt dynamic except for the labels. Or i'm I missing something here.

  • @elielias96

Hi Bas, First of all, thank you so much for the amazing content. I really enjoy watching your videos and applying some of the techniques at work. Is this supposed to replace the dynamic formatting strings from the previous versions? At first glance, it seems that we can achieve it without creating a new format measure, but instead, we can directly write what we want under the format DAX expression when we choose 'dynamic' in the format field.
Is your new video intended to replace your previous video titled 'Use DAX to Show Values in Any Way You Like! Dynamic Format Strings in Power BI.'
Additionally, it would be helpful if you could make a short video on how to dynamically play with colors.
    Thank you!

This trick is great for line / column charts. I am trying to use it to a Gauge visual, but it does not work. The Gauge visual only allows one field in the value field, and so there is only one custom label allowed. Is there anyway to do this for the Gauge callout value label? Thanks.

Hi Bas, have you managed to work the field paramters (measures inside) to work with conditional formatting? I guess we need good, old swithc measure for that ;). As far as dynamic labels
Dynamic Labels are wonderful addition to visualizations, however they are not fully optimized implemented.
    - 😟 The blank values are not blank, but reverted back to original value (i know using transparent hex code is workaround, but then next point...)
    - 😢 The label background is always set manually and cannot be dynamic
    - 😭 The dynamic format is not working with dynamic labels, the setting within visual are always overriding the measure given format (unless FORMAT function is in works - not applicable with crazy nested SWITCHEs)
